Object tracking algorithm based on Meanshift algorithm with fixed kernel bandwidth does not realize object tracking correctly with the scale of object changed. According to this, a scheme of kernel bandwidth adaptive adjustment and predictions of object cancroids based on Kalman filter is proposed in this paper. In this algorithm, Object location predicted based on Kalman filter is used to initialize the Meanshift algorithm. The variation tendency of the kernel bandwidth is also determined based on Kalman filter. Experiment results demonstrate that this algorithm can realize the kernel bandwidth adaptive adjustment and object location prediction. The robustness of the tracking algorithm is also enhanced.

Impacts of subsidy policies on vaccination decisions in contact networks

To motivate more people to participate in vaccination campaigns, various subsidy policies are often supplied by government and the health sectors. However, these external incentives may also alter the vaccination decisions of the broader public, and hence the choice of incentive needs to be carefully considered. Since human behavior and the networking-constrained interactions among individuals significantly impact the evolution of an epidemic, here we consider the voluntary vaccination on human contact networks. To this end, two categories of typical subsidy policies are considered: (1) under the free subsidy policy, the total amount of subsidy is distributed to a certain fraction of individual and who are vaccinated without personal cost, and (2) under the partial-offset subsidy policy, each vaccinated person is offset by a certain amount of subsidy. A vaccination decision model based on evolutionary game theory is established to study the effects of these different subsidy policies on disease control. Simulations suggest that, because the partial-offset subsidy policy encourages more people to take vaccination, its performance is significantly better than that of the free subsidy policy. However, an interesting phenomenon emerges in the partial-offset scenario: with limited amount of total subsidy, a moderate subsidy rate for each vaccinated individual can guarantee the group-optimal vaccination, leading to the maximal social benefits, while such an optimal phenomenon is not evident for the free subsidy scenario.

With the objective to study the variation of optical properties of rat muscle during optical clearing,we have performed a set of optical measurements from that kind of *** performed were total tr ansmittance,ollimated transmit tance,specular reflec-tance and total *** set of measurements is suficient to determine diffuse reflectance and absorbance of the sample,also necessary to est imate the optical *** the per formed measurements and calculated quantities will be used later in inverse Monte Carlo(IMC)simu-lations to determine the evolution of the optical properties of muscle during treatments with ethylene glycol and *** results obt ained with the measurements already provide some information about the optical c learing treatments applied to the muscle and translate the mechanisms of turning the tissue more transparent and sequence of regimes of optical clearing.

Solutions of the output regulation problem in a nonlinear setting invariably target systems presented under some normal form. This paper reviews a recently introduced such form for MIMO nonlinear systems and discusses consequent necessary conditions for solving the MIMO nonlinear output regulation problem. As opposed to the (by now classic) form based on the notion of vector relative degree that is only specific to some square invertible MIMO nonlinear systems, the recent form applies to general (not necessarily invertible, nor square) systems. It turns out that, as far as output regulation goes, the recent form fits better some assumptions that have already been used in the context of square invertible systems and, more important, that can still be used (thanks to this particular normal form) in the context of not square ones. © 2012 IEEE.

In this paper, the discrete-time exponential forgetting factor observer for state affine systems is specialized for the joint estimation of state and parameters, leading to an adaptive observer in which the decay rates of the estimation errors for the two distinct objects to be estimated can be disjoined. Experimental results for the adaptive observation of rotor time constant and stator resistance of an induction motor are presented as example of application.

With the objective to study the variation of optical properties of rat muscle during optical clearing, we have performed a set of optical measurements from that kind of tissue. The measurements performed were total transmittance, collimated transmittance, specular reflectance and total reflectance. This set of measurements is sufficient to determine diffuse reflectance and absorbance of the sample, also necessary to estimate the optical properties. All the performed measurements and calculated quantities will be used later in inverse Monte Carlo (IMC) simulations to determine the evolution of the optical properties of muscle during treatments with ethylene glycol and glucose. The results obtained with the measurements already provide some information about the optical clearing treatments applied to the muscle and translate the mechanisms of turning the tissue more transparent and sequence of regimes of optical clearing. © The Authors.

Learning feedforward control based on the available dynamic/ kinematic system model and sensor information is generally effective for reducing the repeatable errors of a learned trajectory. For new trajectories, however, the system cannot benefit from previous learning data and it has to go through the learning process again to regain its performance. In industrial applications, this means production line has to stop for learning, and the overall productivity of the process is compromised. To solve this problem, this paper proposes a learning control scheme based on neural network (NN) prediction. Learning/training is performed for the neural networks for a set of trajectories in advance. Then the feedforward compensation torque for any trajectory in the set can be calculated according to the predicted error from multiple neural networks managed with expert logic. Experimental study on a 6-DOF industrial robot has shown the superior performance of the proposed NN based learning scheme in the position tracking as well as the residual vibration reduction, without any further learning or end-effector sensors during operation after completion learning/training of motion trajectories in advance. In this paper we use a non-linear diffusion method to filter the inherent noise in a Computed Radiography (CR) for reducing the dose absorbed by the patients especially children in pediatric applications, related with the exposure mAs. The method is implemented in order to create a lower CR dose based on the selection of lower X-ray exposure and with a reduction of the noise using a non-linear diffusion method. The impact of several milliAmpere-seconds (mAs) setting on image quality has been studied using the RANDO phantom. The obtained results show good agreements between the filtered images and real images in terms of noise variance measurements. The new CR images allow medical researchers to analyze how a low dose affects the patient diagnosis. © 2012 IEEE.
