This research aims to build a mathematical model to formulate the problems of implementing knowledge management systems in companies that often face obstacles in achieving the desired objectives and goals. With increasing competition in the business sector, organizations or organizations realize the importance of utilizing the knowledge assets that reside in each individual and organization. If this knowledge can be managed optimally, it can become a competitive advantage for the company due to the emergence of innovative ideas by the concepts of knowledge management theory. By implementing optimal knowledge management (KM), companies can design innovative solutions to improve business operations and increase overall revenue. The factor analysis method will be used to find the determining factors for the success of the implementation of knowledge management systems (KMS) and the regression analysis method will also be used to form a mathematical model of several new factors which are formed as independent variables with the current level of community understanding of KMS as the dependent variable. The research results provide insight into strategies to improve success factors to successfully facilitate KMS implementation. This study contributes to existing knowledge management by providing insight into dynamics that go beyond the technical aspects of KMS, ultimately developing strategies for more effective and efficient utilization of knowledge and organizational growth and supporting competitive advantage for companies. © 2024 IEEE.

Indonesia's geographical condition, which consists of 70 percent ocean territory, holds the potential for utilizing offshore wind turbines to provide cleaner energy. In this study, economic calculations were conducted for offshore wind turbines to generate green electricity and green hydrogen. The chosen ocean area for this endeavor is around the Papa offshore platform in the Java Sea. This area has experienced an economic decline, making it viable for repurposing as a sub-station for a powerhouse and an electrolyzer plant. Based on meteorological data analysis results, the area around the Papa offshore platform exhibits an average at height of 119 m;the wind speed is 5.5 m/*** prevailing wind direction is East Southeast (ESE), with a frequency of 25.2%. Further analysis of wind farms aimed at generating a capacity of 100.8 MW revealed an optimal potential energy generation of approximately 141,656.9 MWh per year. For scenario 1 (electricity production), the cost is $0.192/kWh. The levelized cost of hydrogen (LCOH) for scenario 2 (offshore electrolyzer) and scenario 3 (onshore electrolyzer) is $9.44/kg and $10.1/kg, respectively. To assess investment feasibility, a Net Present Value (NPV) analysis was conducted. This analysis yielded a selling price of electricity at $0.0271/kWh for the first scenario. For the second scenario, the selling price of hydrogen was calculated at $17.11/kg, and for the third scenario, it was $16.99/kg. Considering its flexibility and potential response to restrictions, the third scenario was deemed the most suitable for offshore utilization to produce clean energy. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Magnesium rechargeable batteries are attracting attention as next-generation rechargeable batteries because of their resource abundance, cost, safety, and high electrical capacity per volume compared to conventional lithium-ion rechargeable batteries. Our joint research team focused not only on the electrochemically active magnesium composition of ribbon for the negative electrode materials of magnesium rechargeable batteries but also on the production process, focused on the single roll type liquid quenching and rapid solidification method, which can be produced at a lower cost. In this study, the optimal processing conditions were examined by comparing CAE analysis with ribbon actually manufactured, with the aim of further improving manufacturing conditions using the same method, such as length discontinuities, thickness, and surface properties of ribbon. We specifically various process parameters such as injection pressure and roll peripheral speed for evaluation. As a result, several linear cracks were observed on the surface of the ribbon as the peripheral speed increased and as the Gap became wider, and the surface properties tended to deteriorate. Also, It was found that the dominant factor in the length of the ribbon was the peripheral speed. As the peripheral speed increased, the length of the ribbon tended to increase. © 2023 Japan Institute of Light Metals. All rights reserved.

A microgrid is a local electricity network that supplies electrical energy to the local community from various distributed generation (DG) systems. It can be operated independently or in coordination with the national utility grid of a country. Microgrid operators face different operational challenges and uncertainties while meeting the electricity demand of their customers. This research aims to develop a community microgrid (CMG) energy scheduling strategy considering the electricity price, renewable generation, and load demand uncertainty. The considered CMG system is connected to a utility grid and comprises of a solar photovoltaic (PV) plant, a wind generation system, a micro-turbine, an energy storage system (ESS), and a lumped load. A versatile mathematical optimization problem is formulated and solved using an efficient meta-heuristic technique called the whale optimization algorithm (WOA). The proposed strategy combines an intelligent control system with management software to track the CMG customers' energy requirements and meet the demand with minimal cost by optimizing the available resources. The findings from the research verify the utilization of the ESS in the microgrid to reduce the overall operating costs. © 2022 IEEE.

The point-of-care testing device has acquired importance for clinical diagnostics because of technological advances in resource-constrained situations and a decentralized healthcare system. The dependency on the point of care device is mainly due to sensitivity and specificity, caused by surface modifications, although it varies depending on several criteria. Our study generated silver nanoparticles using two different catalysts -CuSO4 and ZnSO4 (one parameter) via green synthesis and investigated their effect on the colorimetric detection of Animo acid: proline as a biosensing application and tested against antibacterial properties. A modified paper biosensor modified with catalyst CuS04 produces better results as compared to another for proline biosensing (LOD - 4.34 mM) and antibacterial application (1.8 cm long). © 2023 IEEE.

In this study, energy, exergy and sustainability analyses are performed for a solar energy-based hydrogen production system, which is modeled with TRNSYS and engineering Equation Solver (EES) software packages. This system consists of solar photovoltaic panels (PVs), a controller, an electrolyzer, a metal hydride hydrogen tank used for hydrogen production and storage, and Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell (PEMFC) for electricity storage. Dead state temperature is taken as 0 ºC. The results revealed that the PEMFC had the highest energy efficiency of 53.28%. Exergy efficiencies of the solar PV panel, the electrolyzer and the PEMFC were determined to be 9.66%, 60% and 29.39%, respectively. In this paper, the energy efficiency potential of applying novel dynamic insulation systems to slab foundations is investigated for residential buildings. Specifically, dynamic insulation allows the foundation to change its thermal resistance to reduce both heating and cooling thermal loads compared to static insulation systems. The energy benefits of the dynamic insulation are evaluated using a validated numerical model integrated with a state-of-art whole-building simulation tool. Specifically, optimal settings for slab-integrated dynamic insulation are determined monthly to reduce heating and cooling thermal loads while maintaining thermal comfort for a prototypical house located in representative US climates. The analysis results indicate that the deployment of slab-integrated dynamic insulation can reduce heating energy by 10% and cooling energy by 39%, and total heating, ventilating, and air conditioning end-use by up to 12%, especially for houses located in cold climates. In Korea, Chinese cabbage harvesting is insufficiently mechanized and automated, and this task is typically carried out using manual labor. Thus, research on Chinesee cabbage harvesters is required. However, the terrain in cabbage fields is generally rough and comprises many obstacles. Consequently, problems such as overcutting, missed cutting, and side cutting occur while cutting cabbages using a cabbage harvester. Therefore, it is necessary to study the cutting mechanism of the harvester to perform accurate cutting, considering the terrain in the fields. To this end, a three-axis attitude control mechanism was designed in this study;this mechanismm controls the cutting device of the Korean cabbage harvester with three cylinders. In addition, an accelerometer, a gyro sensor, and a rotary encoder were designed for sensor fused. The cylinders were controlled such that the measured roll () and pitch (θ) were level with the ground. In addition, the angle of the guide in the cutting device (θe), driven by grounding to the ground, was calibrated using the height data. The cylinder in the sliding (x) axis was controlled to maintain the target height. Further, a proportional-integral-derivative controller was integrated to reduce overshoot and improve stability. To assess the performancee of the algorithm, a 2:1 scaled-down model of the cutting device of the Korean cabbage harvester was produced, and the attitude control mechanism was installed on its driving platform and tested. Attitude measurement was performed using a motion capture device (OptiTrack). For quantitative evaluation, data with and without the attitude control system were compared by estimating their root mean square error (RMSE). The RMSE values for the level and height were 0.89° and 2.23 cm, respectively, for attitude control with the posture control system;however, those for attitude control without the posture control system weree 2.15° and 4.05 cm, respectively.
