Cataract surgery, a widely performed operation worldwide, is incorporating semantic segmentation to advance computer-assisted intervention. However, the tissue appearance and illumination in cataract surgery often differ among clinical centers, intensifying the issue of domain shifts. While domain adaptation offers remedies to the shifts, the necessity for data centralization raises additional privacy concerns. To overcome these challenges, we propose a Multi-view Test-time Adaptation algorithm (MUTA) to segment cataract surgical scenes, which leverages multi-view learning to enhance model training within the source domain and model adaptation within the target domain. In the training phase, the segmentation model is equipped with multi-view decoders to boost its robustness against variations in cataract surgery. During the inference phase, test-time adaptation is implemented using multi-view knowledge distillation, enabling model updates in clinics without data centralization or privacy concerns. We conducted experiments in a simulated cross-center scenario using several cataract surgery datasets to evaluate the effectiveness of MUTA. Through comparisons and investigations, we have validated that MUTA effectively learns a robust source model and adapts the model to target data during the practical inference phase. © 1982-2012 IEEE.

The rapid advancement of Blockchain technology has led to its widespread application in several domains of digital activities, such as e-government concerns and monetary security. This article presents a smart contract-based Blockchain solution for protecting intellectual property rights in new product development. The proposed solution effectively tackles the challenges associated with the confidentiality of personally identifiable information, efficiency in storing transaction-related information, as well as cooperation and monitoring in IPR. Initially, we create a mathematical model based on smart contract enabled Blockchain and intelligent contracts. Subsequently, we develop algorithms for Blockchain generation, and intelligent contracts. The system is suitable for protecting IPR in a blockchain network, by implementation of distributed identity authentication and real-time extensible storage. These features enhance the security and expandability of circuit copyright protection based on blockchain technology. The experimental results demonstrate that the suggested algorithm has decreased the cost for communication and enhanced the effectiveness of storing information and administration. Furthermore, it demonstrates resilience against many common attacks such as double-spending assaults, while maintaining low cost and overhead. Additionally, it exhibits a superior level of security in comparison to three other competing algorithms. © 2025 IEEE.

Advancing Air Quality Monitoring: TinyML-Based Real-Time Ozone Prediction with Cost-Effective Edge Devices

The escalation of urban air pollution necessitates innovative solutions for real-time air quality monitoring and prediction. This paper introduces a novel TinyML-based system designed to predict ozone concentration in real-time. The system employs an Arduino Nano 33 BLE Sense microcontroller equipped with an MQ7 sensor for carbon monoxide (CO) detection and built-in sensors for temperature and pressure measurements. The data, sourced from a Kaggle dataset on air quality parameters from India, underwent thorough cleaning and preprocessing. Model training and evaluation were performed using Edge Impulse, considering various combinations of input parameters (CO, temperature, and pressure). The optimal model, incorporating all three variables, achieved a mean squared error (MSE) of 0.03 and an R-squared value of 0.95, indicating high predictive accuracy. The regression model was deployed on the microcontroller via the Arduino IDE, showcasing robust real-time performance. Sensitivity analysis identified CO levels as the most critical predictor of ozone concentration, followed by pressure and temperature. The system's low-cost and low-power design makes it suitable for widespread implementation, particularly in resource-constrained settings. This TinyML approach provides precise real-time predictions of ozone levels, enabling prompt responses to pollution events and enhancing public health protection. Copyright © 2025, The Authors. A General Framework for Clustering and Distribution Matching with Bandit Feedback

We develop a general framework for clustering and distribution matching problems with bandit feedback. We consider a K-armed bandit model where some subset of K arms is partitioned into M groups. Within each group, the random variable associated to each arm follows the same distribution on a finite alphabet. At each time step, the decision maker pulls an arm and observes its outcome from the random variable associated to that arm. Subsequent arm pulls depend on the history of arm pulls and their outcomes. The decision maker has no knowledge of the distributions of the arms or the underlying partitions. The task is to devise an online algorithm to learn the underlying partition of arms with the least number of arm pulls on average and with an error probability not exceeding a pre-determined value δ. Several existing problems fall under our general framework, including finding M pairs of arms, odd arm identification, and N-ary clustering of K arms belong to our general framework. We derive a non-asymptotic lower bound on the average number of arm pulls for any online algorithm with an error probability not exceeding δ. Furthermore, we develop a computationally-efficient online algorithm based on the Track-and-Stop method and Frank-Wolfe algorithm, and show that the average number of arm pulls of our algorithm asymptotically matches that of the lower bound. Our refined analysis also uncovers a novel bound on the speed at which the average number of arm pulls of our algorithm converges to the fundamental limit as δ vanishes. © 1963-2012 IEEE.

American Sign Language (ASL) recognition aims to recognize hand gestures, and it is a crucial solution to communicating between the deaf community and hearing people. However, existing sign language recognition algorithms still have some drawbacks, such as difficulty recognizing hand movements and low recognition accuracy for most sign language recognition. A Modified Convolutional Neural Network (MCNN) deep residual 101 classifier-based American Sign Language identification system has been developed to address this problem. There are three main parts presents in the method. The first part is pre-processing the images to remove the noise, enhance the contrast of the picture, adjust the contrast level and smoothen the picture using various filters. The second part is the segmentation, and it’s used to partition the image using a modified canny edge detection method by removing all weak edges present in the image. Finally, classification will be done using the Modified CNN deep residual 101 classifiers. By classifying the image, the American Sign Language is accurately identified. This process is conducted through images. The outcome shows that the suggested approach has a 0.97% accuracy and a 0.05% False Positive Rate. Other CNN architectures such as resNet 50 and resNet 18 reached 0.90% and 0.80% accuracy, respectively, which is lower than our proposed method. In addition, the resNet 101 classifier effectively recognizes the difficult hand gestures through the image data. It obtains high recognition accuracy for 36 signs is 0 to 9 numbers and a to z alphabets from American Sign Language. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2025.

System Optimal Routing and Distribution of Benefits on National Road Networks

Rerouting drivers from selfish route choices to system-optimal traffic patterns has the potential to improve the performance of existing infrastructure. Previous research has looked into assessing the potential of rerouting through the empirical price of anarchy, a measure of network efficiency. However, studies using real-world measurements have been limited by methodological accuracy and network size. Also, they have lacked understanding of the spatial distribution of benefits from rerouting and the relationship with marginal external cost road charges that can be used for implementation. In this article, we create an accurate data-driven traffic assignment model of England's Strategic Road Network. We use it to calculate the national price of anarchy, which is found to be almost 1 implying gains from rerouting at the national scale are minimal and smaller than in other studies. The results show the distribution of rerouting benefits varies strongly with different network zones and demand profiles. This did not match the distribution of marginal external cost charges. Some zones have noticeable benefits from rerouting although the overall network benefit is small, however, these zones do not coincide with where the largest road charges have to be applied for system-optimal rerouting. These results have implications for rerouting implementation.

Stroke is a leading cause of death and disability worldwide,significantly impairing motor and cognitive *** rehabilitation is often hindered by the heterogeneity of stroke lesions,variability in recovery patterns,and the complexity of electroencephalography(EEG)signals,which are often contaminated by *** classification of motor imagery(MI)tasks,involving the mental simulation of movements,is crucial for assessing rehabilitation strategies but is challenged by overlapping neural signatures and patient-specific *** address these challenges,this study introduces a graph-attentive convolutional long short-term memory(LSTM)network(GACL-Net),a novel hybrid deep learning model designed to improve MI classification accuracy and ***-Net incorporates multi-scale convolutional blocks for spatial feature extraction,attention fusion layers for adaptive feature prioritization,graph convolutional layers to model inter-channel dependencies,and bidi-rectional LSTM layers with attention to capture temporal *** on an open-source EEG dataset of 50 acute stroke patients performing left and right MI tasks,GACL-Net achieved 99.52%classification accuracy and 97.43%generalization accuracy under leave-one-subject-out cross-validation,outperforming existing state-of-the-art ***,its real-time processing capability,with prediction times of 33–56 ms on a T4 GPU,underscores its clinical potential for real-time neurofeedback and adaptive *** findings highlight the model’s potential for clinical applications in assessing rehabilitation effectiveness and optimizing therapy plans through precise MI classification.

The most innovative Service-Optimized Logging for Resource Allocation (SOL-RA) is in situations that support 6G connection. The CyberTwin architecture optimizes the quality of service provided to end users in 6G communications by using the dependability of terahertz connections and interactions of a machine-type nature. Elastically sharing elastic resources among users is made possible by the proposed resource allocation strategy, which makes use of proprietary logger functions. This ensures that efficient allocation is achieved without overlapping or lengthy wait periods. Within the framework of SOL-RA, a categorization mechanism is implemented for dense requests, which differentiates them as either stationary or priority services. Resource allocations are dynamically done based on this categorization, which enhances the organization's responsiveness to different needs. Through a tree classifier learning mechanism, CyberTwin logs play an essential part in the processing of requests and the preparation of resources. This helps to ensure that resources are distributed without inefficiency. Requests that are generating a backlog are identified and processed in parallel by the system, which significantly reduces the amount of time that is wasted waiting. In order to guarantee a specialized distribution for the categorized outputs, resource allocations are directed by CyberTwin data logs. An examination of the performance of the SOL-RA scheme takes into account important metrics such service latency, service backlog, resource usage, and request-to-response ratio. This research offers insights into the efficacy of the scheme in maximizing service quality and resource consumption in 6G settings. © The Author(s) 2025.

As Internet of Things (IoT) technology develops so quickly, security issues with IoT devices have come to light. IoT is an array of intelligent devices connected via a network to provide various services. The amount of data generated by these devices has an impact on how well the current intrusion detection systems (IDS) function. The generated dataset consists of irrelevant features which reduces the performance of IDS, making IoT ecosystem vulnerable to cyberattacks. The researchers have suggested the feature reduction technique as a potential solution to the current problem. The proposed method seeks to reduce the feature count by removing the redundant feature subset. Several machine learning methods have been successfully implemented in this discipline. This study proposed the application of hybrid feature reduction technique. The research combined Convolutional neural network (CNN) and Long short-term memory (LSTM);CNN extracted local features and decreased dimensionality, while LSTM identified long-term relationships in the data. SVM and Random Forest classifiers models were used to classify the chosen feature subset. This study employed the TON_IoT Datasets, an up-to-date dataset, to evaluate the model. During data preprocessing, the study applied SMOTETomek data pre-processing technique to address class imbalance in the dataset. With the decreased feature subset, the classification models fared reasonably well;RF had a 98% accuracy rate while SVM had a 91% accuracy rate, showcasing the suggested methodology’s potential for creating efficient IDS. © 2024 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).
