In the technology of advanced Safety Vehicle (ASV), it is important elements to detect pedestrians. There is a technique which used image features and a classifier for pedestrian detection. However, pedestrians have pose variations, such as a rotation. That's why we cannot always get the same features. In order to solve this problem, we can use a way which used the rotation-invariant HOG, but this method needs very high costs because it's not optimized for pedestrian detection. Therefore, we improved calculating method of the rotation-invariant HOG for pedestrian detection and compared this proposed method with the conventional method. As a result, recognition rate was turned from 53.75% to 71.7%.

In this paper, we study a formation control scheme that achieves a tight formation in a 1D platoon. The scheme achieves constant inter-vehicle spacings (with no transient) for almost every vehicle pair whenever there are no disturbances. We build up from the basic leader following approach with a modification in the weight selection. In particular, each member tracks the movement of its immediate predecessor but also uses the leader state, which needs to be transmitted, in order to achieve a tight formation. The key design choice is the use of filters for the measurements that set the transfer functions from the leader trajectory to the inter-vehicle spacings to zero whenever possible. We support the analysis of the architecture with numerical simulations.

The optimization of the operation of chemical plants may require the development of mathematical models of the process units of a plant. These mathematical models can be either first-principles or data-driven models. The former type of modeling may be complex for the use in optimization and especially for online applications such as real time optimization. Available measured process data can be used to develop the latter type of modeling. Although data-driven models offer several benefits for online applications, there are some very significant challenges related to their development in a practical industrial implementation. This paper discusses the important aspects of the building of data-driven models and demonstrates the effects of these types of models on the optimization results. The current work demonstrates the application of a real time optimization framework applied to an industrial air compressor station of an air separation plant when the models are based on operating data.

The MPPTs controller are used to insure a high PV system performance In order to perform this goal a special interest was focused on the well-known P&O algorithm. This algorithm will be tested in real time under variation in the irradiation and load disturbance. A work dealing with MPPT controller, a DC/DC Boost converter feeding a resistive load is achieved. A new guidance law which minimizes the induced L∞-norm of the transference between the target maneuvers and the miss distance is considered. The new guidance law derivation approach applies tools from the world of infinite horizon guidance, but uses time-to-go dependent bandwidth of the closed-loop to cope with the finite time nature of the target interception problem. Naturally, smaller time-to-go values are associated with large bandwidths. The possible merit of such guidance laws is first justified using standard H∞ - analysis. Then, an l∞ - optimization approach is considered where the target maneuver is assumed to be bounded. The resulting guidance laws do not require target acceleration estimation, and are compared to optimal guidance laws which utilize or avoid usage of such estimates.

This paper proposes a linear parameter varying proportional integral unknown input observer (PI-UIO) for the diagnosis of actuator faults and icing in unmanned aerial vehicles. It is shown that in presence of sensor noise, the proposed PI-UIO has the advantage of being affected by the noise, but not by its derivative. Another contribution of the paper is the introduction of an icing to wind/noise ratio, which allows performing an optimal tuning of some PI-UIO design parameters. Results obtained with a Zagi Flying Wing simulator are used to validate the effectiveness of the proposed approach.
