Metal flat surface in-line surface defect detection is notoriously difficult due to obstacles such as high surface reflectivity,pseudo-defect interference,and random elastic *** study evaluates the approach for detecting scratches on a metal surface in order to address a problem in the detection *** paper proposes an improved Gauss-Laplace(LoG)operator combined with a deep learning technique for metal surface scratch identification in order to solve the difficulties that it is challenging to reduce noise and that the edges are unclear when utilizing existing edge detection *** the process of scratch identification,it is challenging to differentiate between the scratch edge and the interference ***,local texture screening is utilized by deep learning techniques that evaluate and identify scratch edges and interference edges based on the local texture characteristics of *** have proven that by combining the improved LoG operator with a deep learning strategy,it is able to effectively detect image edges,distinguish between scratch edges and interference edges,and identify clear scratch *** based on the six categories of meta scratches indicate that the proposedmethod has achieved rolled-in crazing(100%),inclusion(94.4%),patches(100%),pitted(100%),rolled(100%),and scratches(100%),respectively.

We address a problem involving a buyer seeking to train a logistic regression model by acquiring data from privacy-sensitive sellers. Along with compensating the sellers for their data, the buyer provides differential privacy guarantees to them where the payments depend on the privacy guarantees. In addition, each seller has a different privacy sensitivity associated with their data, which is the cost per unit of loss of privacy. The buyer transacts sequentially with the sellers, wherein the seller will disclose their privacy sensitivity, and the buyer immediately provides a payment and guarantees differential privacy. After receiving the payment, the seller provides their data to the buyer. The buyer's goal is to optimize a weighted combination of test loss and payments, i.e., achieve a tradeoff between getting a good ML model and limiting its payments. Additionally, the buyer must design the payments and differential privacy guarantees in an online fashion. Further, the online problem is historydependent, which adds to the challenge. Consequently, we design a payment mechanism that ensures incentive compatibility and individual rationality and is asymptotically optimal. Additionally, we also provide experimental results to validate our findings. © 2024 IEEE.

Thyroid disorders represent a significant global health challenge with hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism as two common conditions arising from dysfunction in the thyroid *** and timely diagnosis of these disorders is crucial for effective treatment and patient *** research introduces a comprehensive approach to improve the accuracy of thyroid disorder diagnosis through the integration of ensemble stacking and advanced feature selection *** forward feature selection,sequential backward feature elimination,and bidirectional feature elimination are investigated in this *** ensemble learning,random forest,adaptive boosting,and bagging classifiers are *** effectiveness of these techniques is evaluated using two different datasets obtained from the University of California Irvine-Machine Learning Repository,both of which undergo preprocessing steps,including outlier removal,addressing missing data,data cleansing,and feature *** experimentation demonstrates the remarkable success of proposed ensemble stacking and bidirectional feature elimination achieving 100%and 99.86%accuracy in identifying hyperthyroidism and hypothyroidism,*** enhancing detection accuracy,the ensemble stacking model also demonstrated a streamlined computational complexity which is pivotal for practical medical *** significantly outperformed existing studies with similar objectives underscoring the viability and effectiveness of the proposed *** research offers an innovative perspective and sets the platform for improved thyroid disorder diagnosis with broader implications for healthcare and patient well-being.

We propose a protocol in quantum illumination (QI) leveraging entanglement in discrete-variable states. Our investigation shows that, as M→∞, the M-mode Bell state matches the 6 dB advantage of the two-mode squeezed vacuum in high noise. It also excels in low- and mid-noise conditions, demonstrating that QI's benefits are not restricted to high background noise. Moreover, the protocol benefits from a sequential decision rule, increasing the advantage beyond 6 dB. These findings present an intriguing alternative to continuous-variable states and open different applications for QI using discrete-variable states.

Cross-Site Scripting(XSS)remains a significant threat to web application security,exploiting vulnerabilities to hijack user sessions and steal sensitive *** detection methods often fail to keep pace with the evolving sophistication of cyber *** paper introduces a novel hybrid ensemble learning framework that leverages a combination of advanced machine learning algorithms—Logistic Regression(LR),Support Vector Machines(SVM),eXtreme Gradient Boosting(XGBoost),Categorical Boosting(CatBoost),and Deep Neural Networks(DNN).Utilizing the XSS-Attacks-2021 dataset,which comprises 460 instances across various real-world trafficrelated scenarios,this framework significantly enhances XSS attack *** approach,which includes rigorous feature engineering and model tuning,not only optimizes accuracy but also effectively minimizes false positives(FP)(0.13%)and false negatives(FN)(0.19%).This comprehensive methodology has been rigorously validated,achieving an unprecedented accuracy of 99.87%.The proposed system is scalable and efficient,capable of adapting to the increasing number of web applications and user demands without a decline in *** demonstrates exceptional real-time capabilities,with the ability to detect XSS attacks dynamically,maintaining high accuracy and low latency even under significant ***,despite the computational complexity introduced by the hybrid ensemble approach,strategic use of parallel processing and algorithm tuning ensures that the system remains scalable and performs robustly in real-time *** for easy integration with existing web security systems,our framework supports adaptable Application Programming Interfaces(APIs)and a modular design,facilitating seamless augmentation of current *** innovation represents a significant advancement in cybersecurity,offering a scalable and effective solution for securing modern web applications against evolving threats.

Pisciculture encounters an array of intricate challenges that span disease management, preservation of water quality, prevention of genetic hybridization, ensuring the integrity of net systems, sourcing sustainable aquatic feed, and comprehending fish growth and reproductive dynamics. Addressing these multifaceted challenges necessitates a comprehensive research approach. This study employs an innovative synergy of fuzzy logic and deep learning techniques, resulting in a robust strategy to tackle these obstacles effectively. Fuzzy logic excels in assessing stressed fish conditions by handling inherent uncertainties. Simultaneously, YOLOv7 with fuzzy color enhancement (YOLOv7FCE) is used to detect damaged fish nets, thereby mitigating losses and upholding the integrity of the net infrastructure. This approach also leverages YOLOv7FCE for identifying Cobia fish within shoals, streamlining the identification process. Subsequently, DeepLabv3 is implemented to meticulously segment the recognized Cobia fish, facilitating precise measurements of their physical attributes. This comprehensive methodology yields profound insights into growth patterns and feeding tendencies within the confined aquatic environment. ELCD-NSC2: a novel early lung cancer detection and non-small cell classification framework

The survival rate of lung cancer relies significantly on how far the disease has spread when it is detected, how it reacts to the treatment, the patient’s overall health, and other factors. Therefore, the earlier the lung cancer diagnosis, the higher the survival rate. For radiologists, recognizing malignant lung nodules from computed tomography (CT) scans is a challenging and time-consuming process. As a result, computer-aided diagnosis (CAD) systems have been suggested to alleviate these burdens. Deep-learning approaches have demonstrated remarkable results in recent years, surpassing traditional methods in different fields. Researchers are currently experimenting with several deep-learning strategies to increase the effectiveness of CAD systems in lung cancer detection with CT. This work proposes a deep-learning framework for detecting and diagnosing lung cancer. The proposed framework used recent deep-learning techniques in all its layers. The autoencoder technique structure is tuned and used in the preprocessing stage to denoise and reconstruct the medical lung cancer dataset. Besides, it depends on the transfer learning pre-trained models to make multi-classification among different lung cancer cases such as benign, adenocarcinoma, and squamous cell carcinoma. The proposed model provides high performance while recognizing and differentiating between two types of datasets, including biopsy and CT scans. The Cancer Imaging Archive and Kaggle datasets are utilized to train and test the proposed model. The empirical results show that the proposed framework performs well according to various performance metrics. According to accuracy, precision, recall, F1-score, and AUC metrics, it achieves 99.60, 99.61, 99.62, 99.70, and 99.75%, respectively. Also, it depicts 0.0028, 0.0026, and 0.0507 in mean absolute error, mean squared error, and root mean square error metrics. Software-Defined Networking(SDN),with segregated data and control planes,provides faster data routing,stability,and enhanced quality metrics,such as throughput(Th),maximum available bandwidth(Bd(max)),data transfer(DTransfer),and reduction in end-to-end delay(D(E-E)).This paper explores the critical work of deploying SDN in large-scale Data Center Networks(DCNs)to enhance its Quality of Service(QoS)parameters,using logically distributed control *** is a noticeable increase in Delay(E-E)when adopting SDN with a unified(single)control structure in big DCNs to handle Hypertext Transfer Protocol(HTTP)requests causing a reduction in network quality parameters(Bd(max),Th,DTransfer,D(E-E),etc.).This article examines the network performance in terms of quality matrices(bandwidth,throughput,data transfer,etc.),by establishing a large-scale SDN-based virtual network in the Mininet *** SDN network is simulated in three stages:(1)An SDN network with unitary controller-POX to manage the data traffic flow of the network without the server load management algorithm.(2)An SDN network with only one controller to manage the data traffic flow of the network with a server load management algorithm.(3)Deployment of SDN in proposed control arrangement(logically distributed controlled framework)with multiple controllers managing data traffic flow under the proposed Intelligent Sensing Server Load Management(ISSLM)*** a result of this approach,the network quality parameters in large-scale networks are enhanced.
