Evidence for the existence of monkeys with spontaneous Parkinson’s disease (PD) has been lacking. Here,we screened macaque colonies at the Kunming Primate Research Center(Association for Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care(AAALAC) accredited), Kunming Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, which has a large population of monkeys (>2400), to identify naturally occurring PD monkeys.

Geographic Information Discipline serves as a critical pillar driving continuous innovation in Earth system science, geography, smart cities, and ecological conservation. Against the backdrop of intensified global environmental changes and diversified societal demands, this discipline faces a dual-challenge of theoretical innovation and technological breakthrough. This paper analyzes geographic information discipline from three perspectives: disciplinary demands, development strategies, and frontier challenges. In terms of disciplinary demands, we explores the requirements of Earth system science for multi-source data integration, dynamic model construction, and cross-scale analysis, as well as the evolving trends of geography within the framework of the ternary world (i.e., physical, human, and information). Regarding development strategies, we proposes strategic pathways from a multidisciplinary perspective encompassing information science, information geography, and geolinguistics. These include advancing the discipline through geographic language development, multi-modal representation, virtual-real integration, and the establishment of a universal language framework. Meanwhile, the paper addresses current theoretical and technical bottlenecks, such as insufficient modeling of information world, limited capacity for high-dimensional dynamic data processing, and the technical demand for real-time 3D scene representation. We emphasizes that under the globalization and digital transformation, geoinformatics is undergoing a comprehensive leap from the physical-human duality to the physical-human-information triad by integrating theories from information science, geography, and cognitive science. Moving forward, the discipline must focus on intelligent systems, multidimensional dynamic analysis, and multidisciplinary collaborative innovation to better address complex geographic phenomena and provide scientific and technological support for global environmental manage

城市热辐射方向性限制了遥感地表温度反演精度,阻碍了对全球城市气候(如城市地表能量通量估算和城市热环境评估)的准确理解.然而,全球不同气候背景城市热辐射方向性时空特征及其造成的城市地表能量通量和热岛强度遥感估算偏差仍不清楚,在全球尺度是否存在与城市热辐射方向性密切相关且易获取的地表和气候参量尚不明晰.本研究结合多角度卫星观测地表温度和遥感云平台,分析了全球5500多个城市的热辐射方向性特征,量化了其造成的全球城市地表能量通量和热岛强度遥感估算偏差,厘清了全球尺度城市热辐射方向性与关键地表和气候参量的关系.研究发现全球城市平均热辐射方向性强度在夏季白天下午高达5.4 K.在极端情况下,当地表温度观测天顶角位于±60°时,热辐射方向性使得全球城市地表显热通量和热岛强度分别低估45.4%和43.0%.研究进一步发现全球城市热辐射方向性与地表不透水面百分比和空气温度具有良好的统计关系,这为卫星遥感城市地表温度角度纠正提供了新思路.

Integrating generative artificial intelligence tools can allow one to manage and develop novel business methods efficiently. With the introduction of self-learning generative artificial intelligence (GAI) tools, the corporate world is trying to figure out the applications and their business implications. Major technology companies like Microsoft, Google, Facebook, etc., have shown enormous interest in investing in ventures developing generative AI tools/models. These tools/models can be experimented with, and their business use is being explored. The study aims to explore the potential uses of generative AI (GAI) in academics through its current capabilities and applications. The study also highlights the potential challenges and concerns arising from using generative AI in academics. The study has used descriptive and quantitative methods to answer the research questions. The study has used a questionnaire based on the Likert scale to measure the significance of indirect variables, viz. perceived ease of use (PEOU) and perceived trust (PT) on direct variable adoption of generative artificial intelligence (AGAI) in academics. The sample size consists of 100 students and 100 university professors. The study Mentions that perceived ease of use (PEOU) positively influences GAI (AGAI) adoption. Also, perceived trust (PT) has a predictive ability of AGIA when controlling for PEOU. The use of generative AI in a few years will become imperative in most human lives, which makes it mandatory to explore the possible ways of its adoption in the mainstream rather than avoiding or restricting its usage in academics.

We propose a fundamental theorem for eco-environmental surface modelling(FTEEM) in order to apply it into the fields of ecology and environmental science more easily after the fundamental theorem for Earth’s surface system modeling(FTESM). The Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei(BTH) region is taken as a case area to conduct empirical studies of algorithms for spatial upscaling, spatial downscaling, spatial interpolation, data fusion and model-data assimilation, which are based on high accuracy surface modelling(HASM), corresponding with corollaries of FTEEM. The case studies demonstrate how eco-environmental surface modelling is substantially improved when both extrinsic and intrinsic information are used along with an appropriate method of HASM. Compared with classic algorithms, the HASM-based algorithm for spatial upscaling reduced the root-meansquare error of the BTH elevation surface by 9 m. The HASM-based algorithm for spatial downscaling reduced the relative error of future scenarios of annual mean temperature by 16%. The HASM-based algorithm for spatial interpolation reduced the relative error of change trend of annual mean precipitation by 0.2%. The HASM-based algorithm for data fusion reduced the relative error of change trend of annual mean temperature by 70%. The HASM-based algorithm for model-data assimilation reduced the relative error of carbon stocks by 40%. We propose five theoretical challenges and three application problems of HASM that need to be addressed to improve FTEEM.

The incidence of myopia has increased rapidly in recent decades, suggesting that environmental factors, such as light,may be an important cause. Correlated color temperature(CCT) is a commonly used index to quantify the spectral composition of light. Here, we used 32 juvenile monkeys(16 females and 16 males) and selected four kinds of light with typical but different CCTs to study the relationship between CCT and ocular axial elongation.

Sarcasm is often considered as a prevalent linguistic element in online content that conveys strongly held subjectivity and viewpoints. The detection of sarcasm is a significant consideration over the dominant NLP appliances as sentiment analysis, which is utilizing for advertising and opinion mining is a precious tool for figuring out the people sentiments and attitudes. The proposed approach describes automatic detection of sarcasm as an ease classification of text challenges. This paper aims to develop a sarcasm detection model that categorizes words into either sarcastic or non-sarcastic expressions. Initially, the text input involves processing, here the stop word removal and tokenization process are carried out. Subsequently, various features like information gain, chisquare, mutual information, and symmetrical uncertaintybased features are extracted from the preprocessed data. The curse of dimensionality is a crucial issue, thereby the selection of optimal features is conducted by employing hybrid optimization model called Clan Updated Grey Wolf Optimization (CU-GWO). The optimal features are utilized for sarcasm detection by using ensemble technique. The ensemble techniques involve the classifiers such as NN, SVM, RF and DCNN. The final output of DCNN indicates whether the sarcasm is present. The effectiveness of the proposed approach demonstrated through diverse metrices.

Distillation aqueous byproducts are discarded despite being rich in bioactive components. In this study, the aqueous byproducts (hydrolats and flask water fractions) resulting from the hydrodistillation of fresh and dry mint leaves were compared, with a primary focus on their essential oil yield and bioactive properties. Dry mint leaves yielded approximately eight times more essential oil than fresh leaves. The hydrolat extracted from dried mint leaves (MHD) exhibited higher phenolics (35.5 ± 1.1^d mg GAE/100 mL), flavonoids (7.8 ± 0.29^d mg QE/100 mL) and 2,2-diphenylpicrylhydrazyl scavenging potential (21.13%), compared to the hydrolat derived from fresh leaves (MHF), which had lower values (7.115 ± 0.9^e mg GAE/100 mL, 5.72 ± 0.422^d mg QE/100 mL and 6.79%, respectively). Similarly, the flask water fraction from dry mint leaves (FWF2) had a higher concentration of bioactive compounds compared to that from fresh leaves (FWF1). The hydrolat with higher bioactivity (MHD) was selected for infusion to develop a flavored drink and its GCMS profile indicated a relatively abundant presence of D-Carvone. The flavored drink prepared with a 20:100 ratio of hydrolat was preferred for its flavor intensity, a key sensory parameter for determining the hydrolat amount. Additionally, for Gum Arabic, a 2.5:100 ratio in the drink resulted in a more acceptable consistency score. © 2024 Elsevier B.V.

Background: Parenting stress has grown dramatically as a result of the pandemic, according to a systematic analysis that compared parenting styles and mental health-related factors before and during COVID-19. Regarding the COVID-19 epidemic, parents reported feeling more stressed. This included anxiety about their kids' health and safety, financial hardships, and interruptions to their regular routines and support networks. Furthermore, the analysis revealed that the pandemic had a detrimental effect on parents' mental health, with greater rates of anxiety, sadness, and overall psychological distress among parents. These findings demonstrate the intricate interactions that exist between personal variables and exogenous stressors like the pandemic that affect parenting stress. The COVID-19 pandemic and other external stressors, financial hardships, and marital status are only a few of the variables that might affect parenting stress overall. Consequently, while analyzing parenting stress, creating parent support interventions, and contrasting pre- and post-COVID-19 patterns, it is imperative to take these diverse elements into account. Method: This study includes material from three well-known databases that are used by scholars all around the world: Scopus, Web of Science (WOS), and Google Scholar. The records were screened during the review process using the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis (PRISMA) methodology. Results: We evaluated 10,053 abstracts and titles found through Google Scholar and database searches. After a complete text screening of 253 publications, 18 research were included in our study. According to the data retrieved from every database, the research questions in this study are multidisciplinary in nature, reflecting the interdisciplinary nature of healthcare and the development of new healthcare technologies. The permafrost region is one of the most sensitive areas to climate *** global warming,the Mongolian Plateau permafrost is rapidly degrading,and its vegetation ecosystem is seriously *** address this challenge,it is essential to understand the impact of climate change on vegetation at different permafrost degradation stages on the Mongolian *** on the general permafrost distribution,in this study,we divided different permafrost regions and explored the response of vegetation to climate change at different stages of permafrost degradation by the idea of“space instead of time”from 2014 to *** results of the study showed that:(1)Normalized difference vegetation index(NDVI)values showed a decreasing trend,and the proportion of the decreasing region was in the order of sporadic permafrost region>isolated and sparse permafrost region>continuous and discontinuous permafrost regions.(2)The main controlling factors of vegetation growth in permafrost regions are different,air temperature is the main controlling factor of vegetation growth in isolated and sparse permafrost region(r=-0.736)and sporadic permafrost regions(r=-0.522),and precipitation is the main controlling factor of vegetation growth in continuous and discontinuous permafrost region(r=-0.498).(3)The response of NDVI to climate change varies at different stages of permafrost *** the early stages of permafrost degradation,increased land surface temperature(LST)and air temperature favored vegetation growth and increased vegetation cover,whereas increased precipitation impeded vegetation growth;as the permafrost degraded,increased LST and air temperature impeded vegetation growth,whereas increased precipitation promoted vegetation growth.
