Accelerators such as graphics processing units (GPUs) provide an inexpensive way of improving the performance of cluster systems. In such an arrangement, the individual nodes of the cluster are directly connected to one or more accelerator devices via PCI Express. This results in a static mapping of accelerators onto compute nodes, where each accelerator can only be accessed from exactly one compute node. While this static mapping enables efficient data transfers between a given accelerator and the compute node it belongs to, differing computational demands across jobs may, however, produce either underutilized accelerators or nodes whose computational demands cannot be satisfied with the number of accelerators available to them. In particular, smaller numbers of GPUs available per node may enforce explicit MPI parallelism across compute nodes where it is not necessary. To address this limitation, we propose a novel accelerator-cluster architecture in which network-attached accelerators are dynamically assigned to compute nodes. This allows not only their optimal utilization but also a more precise match between application requirements and accelerator hardware. We outline the general concept of our dynamic architecture and show that it can offer substantial benefits to certain classes of applications without significantly harming the performance of others. © 2012 IEEE.

The overwhelming acceptance of social media creates opportunities to learn about facts and events that are echoed in posts, tweets and messages uploaded by users. Analysis of these data can lead to interesting observations and conclusions. Of special importance are aspects related to temporal and dynamic nature of these findings. This paper presents a simple fuzzy-based approach of pre-processing and analyzing Twitter hashtags. The obtained fuzzy clusters are further examined in order to gain insight related to temporal trends and patterns of hashtags' popularity.

Maintenance starts with reliable diagnostics. programming Logic Controllers (PLCs) are often equipped with a high degree of diagnostic procedures in order to ensure that the processing unit is functioning correctly. It is vital to verify that the system with its programme is still within a 'healthy' state, otherwise a safety function is called and the system is brought into a safe state, or if possible, defect and malfunctioning components are exchanged during operation and the process can continue without shutting down the system. However, when it comes to smaller devices such as intelligent sensors, embedded controller devices with the functionality of an e.g. PID (Proportional-Integral-Derivative), predictive controller, filter or analytical algorithm, which is embedded into a FPGA or micro-controller then diagnostics and verification methods are often not considered in the way they should be. For example, if an intelligent sensor system is not able to diagnose that the sensor-head is malfunctioning, but the sensor-head still provides some data, then the smart algorithm bases its calculation on wrong data, which can cause a dangerous situation. This paper investigates and shows recent results to combine diagnostic methods for small scale devices. Several safety-related structures are considered with a high degree of diagnostic coverage. The paper presents relevant procedures and structures to increase the reliability of small devices without utilising a full scale microcontroller system.

This paper describes a new approach on optimization of constraint satisfaction problems (CSPs) by means of substituting sub-CSPs with locally consistent regular membership constraints. The purpose of this approach is to reduce the number of fails in the resolution process, to improve the inferences made during search by the constraint solver by strengthening constraint propagation, and to maintain the level of propagation while reducing the cost of propagating the constraints. Our experimental results show improvements in terms of the resolution speed compared to the original CSPs and a competitiveness to the recent tabulation approach [1,12]. Besides, our approach can be realized in a preprocessing step, and therefore wouldn't collide with redundancy constraints or parallel computing if implemented. Copyright © 2019, The Authors. For understanding the performance differences caused by different computer architectures and optimization technologies, the paper characterizes performance of SPEC CPU2006 benchmarks both on Intel and AMD platform. Using the performance events collected by Performance Monitor Unit, we compare their performance differences and analyze the causes from the features of architectures and the optimization technologies. Our results and analysis help the programmers better understand the memory performance and branch prediction performance which are caused by architectures and guide them in the optimization. The analysis also help the processor architects better balance among the key architecture factors such as memory disambiguation and hardware prefetch when doing architecture design decision.

Data poisoning attacks, where adversaries manipulate training data to degrade model performance, are an emerging threat as machine learning becomes widely deployed in sensitive applications. This paper provides a comprehensive overview of data poisoning including attack techniques, adversary incentives, impacts on security and reliability, detection methods, defenses, and key research gaps. We examine label flipping, instance injection, backdoors, and other attack categories that enable malicious outcomes ranging from IP theft to accidents in autonomous systems. Promising detection approaches include statistical tests, robust learning, and forensics. However, significant challenges remain in translating academic defenses like adversarial training and sanitization into practical tools ready for operational use. With safety and trustworthiness at stake, more research on benchmarking evaluations, adaptive attacks, fundamental tradeoffs, and real-world deployment of defenses is urgently needed. Understanding vulnerabilities and developing resilient machine learning pipelines will only grow in importance as data integrity is fundamental to developing safe artificial intelligence.

An overview of existing urban software mobile applications of the transport and economic direction is given. A model of a functional rationalizer of consumer behavior is being built. The software model of the functional rationalizer of consumer behavior (SM FRCB) was developed for the first time. PMFRCB allows the user to expand the number of his preferred needs (occupations, activities) during the daily cycle through intelligent recommendations. Also, SM FRCB allows you to optimize needs (activities, activities) at the cost and rate of their use. The SM FRCB is made in Python_3 using the libraries matplotlib, collections, numpy, pyplot, mplot3d. The analysis of consumer behavior before and after using the functional rationalizer model is carried out. The graphical results of a structural analysis of the costs of old and new consumer behavior, analysis of consumer behavior within the boundaries of the theory of possibilities and the model of transport behavior of a resident before and after applying the functional rationalizer model are presented. The prospects of further improving the SM FRCB are considered. © 2020 IEEE.

Educational, online learning has become a common practice due to rapid digitalization and recent global events. This study focuses on developing a comprehensive online learning platform that addresses users' needs by integrating advanced AI capabilities for personalized support and adaptive learning. The platform supports user registration and authentication, course and lesson management, and offers interactive features like AI-driven chat support. In this study, we show the importance of creating user-friendly online learning platforms with the implementation of modern AI trends. The development and testing of this platform is ongoing to determine the adaptation of the system to different learning styles.

The aggregation operator is a popular tool for dealing with multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) problems. An MCDM technique based on the modified picture fuzzy weighted geometric operator (MPFWGO) is proposed in this article. First, the drawbacks of various existing picture fuzzyweighted geometric aggregation operators (PFWGOs) that lead to imprecise outcomes in some exceptional instances are investigated. Second, an MPFWGO is proposed to address the shortcomings of existing PFWGOs. Furthermore, the suggested MPFWGO's properties such as idempotency, boundedness, monotonicity, and commutativity are explored. Numerical examples demonstrate that our proposed operator and corresponding MCDM approach are efficient and reasonable enough to prevent ambiguous results in exceptional instances. Finally, we applied the proposed method to rank the World Health Organization (WHO) regions for air pollution control. © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Evaluating student performance is important for universities and institutions in the current student education landscape because it helps them create models that work better for students. The automation of various features related to fundamental student traits and behaviours that manage massive amounts of data efficiently processes these. To handle student records that included information about students' behaviour and how it related to their academic performance, the companies employed models of classification with mining concepts. Additionally, the quality of result classification can be substantially improved by using learning analytics and Educational Data Mining (EDM). The educational establishments are making an effort to lower the low student performance. To address this issue, numerous methods for assessing student performance have been devised, allowing the relevant faculties to intervene and enhance the final product. Three classes - Low Performance Student, Average Student, and Smart Student - were created using the K-Mean Clustering methodology for classifying student records. Features including grade point, number of deficits, student attendance, medium of education, and board of education are taken into account when classifying the data. In this case, the WEKA tool is also utilized for implementing the model and outcome assessments. © 2024 IEEE.
