In this paper, we propose a series of applications that represent a system family for processing Research Data. The whole system is a model of complete data flow of "research", from data capturing, processing, until intelligent data analysis. Data engineering, Software engineering, Domain engineering and Ontology engineering are used for the development of the system. We also described tools and technologies to be used in building the system. The prototype of a small scale system has been built as a proof of concept of this family of system, for the domain of "Research" in Indonesian context. The aim of building this prototype are: (a) to provide an architectural description prototype of a knowledge repository where Indonesian Context Research as a central domain (b) to comprehend a software engineering for software system family.

AIM:To apply the multifractal analysis method as a quantitative approach to a comprehensive description of the microvascular network architecture of the normal human ***:Fifty volunteers were enrolled in this study in the Ophthalmological Clinic of Cluj-Napoca,Romania,between January 2012 and January 2014. A set of 100 segmented and skeletonised human retinal images,corresponding to normal states of the retina were studied. An automatic unsupervised method for retinal vessel segmentation was applied before multifractal analysis. The multifractal analysis of digital retinal images was made with computer algorithms,applying the standard boxcounting method. Statistical analyses were performed using the Graph Pad In Stat ***:The architecture of normal human retinal microvascular network was able to be described using the multifractal geometry. The average of generalized dimensions(D_q)for q=0,1,2,the width of the multifractal spectrum(Δα=α_(max)-α_(min))and the spectrum arms' heights difference(│Δf│)of the normal images were expressed as mean±standard deviation(SD):for segmented versions,D_0=1.7014±0.0057; D_1=1.6507±0.0058; D_2=1.5772±0.0059; Δα=0.92441±0.0085; │Δf│= 0.1453±0.0051; for skeletonised versions,D_0=1.6303±0.0051; D_1=1.6012±0.0059; D_2=1.5531± 0.0058; Δα=0.65032±0.0162; │Δf│= 0.0238±0.0161. The average of generalized dimensions(D_q)for q=0,1,2,the width of the multifractal spectrum(Δα)and the spectrum arms' heights difference(│Δf│)of the segmented versions was slightly greater than the skeletonised ***:The multifractal analysis of fundus photographs may be used as a quantitative parameter for the evaluation of the complex three-dimensional structure of the retinal microvasculature as a potential marker for early detection of topological changes associated with retinal diseases.

This book contains the refereed proceedings of the 3rd International IFIP-TC6 Networking Conference, Networking 2004. Conferences in the Networking series span the interests of several distinct, but related, TC6 working groups, including Working Groups 6.2, 6.3, and 6.8. Re?ecting this, the conference was structured with three Special Tracks: (i) Networking Technologies, Services, and Protocols; (ii) Performance of computer and Communication Networks; and (iii) Mobile and Wireless Communications. However, beyond providing a forum for the presentation of high-quality - search in various complementary aspects of networking, the conference was also targetedtocontributingtoauni?edviewofthe?eldandtofosteringtheinter- tion and exchange of fruitful ideas between the various related (and overlapping) specialized subcommunities therein. Towards this second objective, more than a few conference sessions (and thematic sections in this book) ‘cut across’ the Special Tracks, along more generic or fundamental concepts. Networking 2004 was fortunate to attract very high interest among the c- munity, and the conference received 539 submissions from 44 countries in all ?ve continents. These ?gures correspond to a remarkable increase in subm- sions from the previous very successful events (roughly, a 156% increase over Networking 2000 and 71% over Networking 2002), and indicate that Netw- king conferences are progressively becoming established as worldwide reference events in the ?eld.

We study load balancing in wireless networks with a single class of traffic, focusing our attention on an important example, i.e., wireless sensor networks. The analysis is based on the wireless minimum cost problem, an optimization problem that implicitly captures the effects of interference through the novel use of an arc cost function that depends on the amount of traffic flowing through nearby links. We present an algorithm that optimizes the flow by modifying the traffic along cycles constructed during an initialization phase. Its operation may be viewed as trying to satisfy Kirchhoff's Voltage Law on an electric circuit containing interferistors. It is robust, distributed, with minimal communication overhead, and converges quickly. Furthermore, when the traffic is elastic, the algorithm can be easily modified to also perform congestion control.

In this work, we propose an efficient resource management approach for WDM-PON ring architectures that supports dynamic bandwidth allocation and sharing of downstream wavelengths. We propose a modification in the ONU design, to dynamically setup virtual circuits for inter-ONU communication.
