The development of technology in the field of internet of things (IoT) increase the development of android applications that are used to practically control IoT systems, especially in the field of monitoring. The current surveillance systems that using closed-circuit television (CCTV) are still very popular, but these systems require high costs for installation and their capabilities are not very flexible and scalable. Thus it is considered necessary to build stream and photo applications that low-cost, and more flexible. Therefore, in this study a simple remote application that utilizes video streams using Android with the help of websocket protocol on sending the command is developed. Testing is carried out to measure the performance of the developed system. The test is carried out in two stages, the first test was testing the function of the Android application and web server on raspberry pi with black box testing. The second test, performed a performance test on each feature by looking at the running time of each main software feature to see its real time capability. The low cost and flexibility of the surveillance system are achieved with the use of multi threading and with the usage of websocket making a flexibility at the level of low technical manipulation, although the stream and the device are still not responsive enough due to the encoding of the h264 data stream when it will be sent by the help of the VLC software. © 2022 IEEE.

A Comparative Study of Physics-Informed and Conventional Neural Networks for Predicting On-Screen Gaze Points from Eye-Tracking Data

Physics-Informed Neural Networks (PINNs) take advantage of physical constraints to improve the predictive performance of neural networks. They have demonstrated remarkable success in physics, chemistry, biology, and medicine, sparking interest in their potential applications in other fields, such as Human-computer Interaction (HCI). Despite their versatility, PINNs are underutilized in certain disciplines due to the challenge of defining Partial Differential Equations (PDEs) that adequately constrain specific problems. This study investigates the application of PINNs to predict fixations captured by an eye-tracking device, employing equations that model head and eye movements. The data for this study were collected during an experiment involving an adaptive user interface for pilots, encompassing a variety of fixation points and rapid glances. The results establish PINNs as a superior method, achieving a mean absolute error (MAE) of 0.61 for horizontal predictions (X) and 0.35 for vertical predictions (Y), significantly outperforming the conventional neural network (NN). Additionally, the PINN demonstrated stronger predictive accuracy for vertical gaze dynamics, as evidenced by an [[EQUATION]] of 0.91 compared to 0.85 for the NN. These findings underscore the robustness of the PINN approach in modeling gaze points with enhanced precision and reliability. While conventional neural networks perform adequately, the added benefit of physical constraints in PINNs encourages further exploration of their application in non-natural science domains. These promising results point toward the potential of PINNs in creating more adaptive and context-aware systems for various HCI applications. © 2025, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Even if an explosive number of proposals and prototype systems of blockchain based certificates and verification have been suggested and implemented since 2015, still in the public service areas paper certificates are prevalent. Because of advancement of color duplication and editing tools obtainable at almost no price in the internet, paper certificates are easily forged and modified. For the reason, the verification technology of the paper certificates needs need regressive research and can provide abundant research opportunities. In this research, various research suggestions and technical implementation are reviewed and a new system, called 'one-shot' verification is briefly described. The one-shot verification captures the image and QR code of the printed certificates with mobile devices before sending them to block-chained server. The block-chained server decides whether the printed certificates are tampered or not, with the OCR content by comparing hash value with hash value of the original content. The image OCR of the paper was trained with more than 1,700 images using YOLOv8. In the testing with preprocessing, the technology showed 96% accuracy. © 2024 IEEE.

In ornamental fish cultivation, water conditions are one of parameters to control the water quality. Water quality is closely related to fish habitat in ponds or aquariums. Water is a medium that must be considered because it supports the process of developing a successful fish culture. Because of the importance of monitoring water conditions for fish, some tools are needed to observe it in real-time. Therefore, pH level, oxygen, temperature and water transparency provide real-time notification of required time conditions. With the esp8266 microchip and built-in TCP/IP network software on NodeMCU has the ability to transmit data via Wi-fi, this data will be sent via the Telegram bot and the information of the state of the water, whether the pH is too low, the water is cloudy, and the water temperature. With some experimental test has some results about the accuracy level obtained on the pH sensor reaches the accuracy obtained is 99.19%. on the TDS sensor up to 96.7%, the accuracy on the DS18B20 sensor is up to 96.9% and the last sensor is turbidity which has an accuracy of 49.73% so that this model can classify the water condition whether it is suitable for use for ornamental fish growth. © 2022 IEEE.

Predicting the value of railroad track geometry is needed to reduce the cost and time of rail condition measurements that have been carried out periodically every three months by railroad operators in Indonesia (PT Kereta Api Indonesia/PT KAI). Four track geometry parameters - vertical profile, horizontal alignment, twist, and gauge - are the reference measurements that will be mapped with alternative measurement results using accelerometers installed on regular trains (in-service trains). In this paper, eight prediction algorithms from the machine learning model are applied to map the vertical profile with 73 kilometers of measurement data in the Jakarta to Padalarang railroad segment, precisely on the Jatinegara-Cikampek measuring trip conducted from April 2019 to June 2022. The evaluation performance of the prediction results has been measured with the GadientBoosting Regressor algorithm is the best algorithm with MSE = 0.791, R2 = 0.507 and feature importance on the Train speed and Az attributes. The research can be continued to detect the correlation of three other track geometry parameters referring to the dataset of rail geometry condition measurement results through accelerometers on regular trains (in-service trains). © 2023 IEEE.

One of the diseases still suffered by many Indonesian people, especially in the city of Depok, is respiratory disease. Currently, respiratory tract disease is a case with a high number of sufferers. An effort to handle these cases is to provide counseling and education for the community. This education aims to enable people to apply a healthy lifestyle independently and prevent various types of diseases. During the COVID-19 pandemic, this role was somewhat difficult to carry out due to limited movement and space. As a solution to this problem, the part of information technology is crucial. One is utilizing multimedia technology as a medium for health education for the community, namely animation. Animation can describe and visualize something so that information can be presented clearly and visually. This study aims to develop animation as a medium of health education for the community, especially in respiratory health. The animation video was generated using the MDLC (Multimedia Development Life Cycle) method. The resulting animated video can inform the public about health that focuses on the health of the respiratory system. 85 % of users stated that this animated video helps them to understand the material presented. © 2022 IEEE.

This paper aims to know how well Bidirectional Long Short-Term Memory (BiLSTM) is in predicting Indonesian stock prices. First, the best hyperparameter of BiLSTM is searched through hyperparameter tuning. After finding the best hyperparameter, we train the data train containing close prices from Indonesian stock. After that, we try to find optimal days to predict by measuring the error rate using Mean Absolute Error (MAE). We also compared BiLSTM with Recurrent Neural Network (RNN) and LSTM by comparing the MAE from each method. Finally, we also tried using multivariate BiLSTM using Indonesian stock. The evaluations yield the best hyperparameters setting and how many days suitable for predicting BiLSTM performance. BiLSTM performed better than RNN and LSTM. Moreover, univariate BiLSTM performs better than multivariate BiLSTM in predicting Indonesian stock prices. © 2022 ACM.

Crowd of people in public places is a serious problem that needs attention because uncontrolled crowd conditions will cause problems, especially with the Covidl9 pandemic which requires people not to congregate. This research uses the Multi Scale Convolutional Neural Network method to overcome the main problems in crowd images, namely object scale variations, difficulty distinguishing between people objects and the background, as well as overlapping between people objects. The Multi Scale CNN implementation in this research uses the feature extractor layer from VGG16 as the low level feature extractor layer (frontend layer) and the Inception-Restnet-A module from Inception-Resnet-v2 as the high level feature extractor (backend layer). The datasets used to train the model are the ShanghaiTech and UCF_QNRF datasets which already contain the location information of the people in the image. Prior to the training process, ground-truth was made by conducting a convolution process using a Gaussian filter at the point where people are. Then, the Multi Scale CNN model will be trained with these 2 datasets. In the trained model, the input image will be convoluted to produce a density map. The results of the crowd calculation are obtained by adding up all the density map values. The use of Multi Scale CNN is proven to provide a good accuracy value with the MAE loss value being 78.0 for the ShanghaiTech Part A dataset and 10.75 for the ShanghaiTech Part B dataset. © 2022 IEEE.

Our research demonstrates a discrete speech system that empowers those afflicted with speech impairments to convey ideas by internally articulating words without producing audible sound. This method harnesses the minimal movements involved in articulation, making it less arduous than conventional vocalization, especially for individuals facing communication challenges. Silent Speech Interfaces (SSIs) form the foundation of our research, enabling the decoding of neuromuscular signals associated with internal speech articulation to facilitate non-invasive and effective communication for individuals with speech impairments. This research entails the utilization of a multi-electrode configuration to capture subtle, low-voltage electrical signals positioned on the surface area of the subject's neck. These signals emerge as a consequence of neural activation within the speech articulator muscles, signifying the internal articulation of words within the oral cavity, accompanied by minimal physical movement. Subsequent to signal acquisition, a comprehensive analysis of the data is conducted using a biosensing board (Cyton), facilitated by the implementation of the OpenBCI GUI interface and visualization via Python plotting tools. © 2025 IEEE.

Indonesia has two seasons, namely the dry season and the rainy season. Floods occupy the first position in the sequence of natural disasters with a total of 1,067 floods in Indonesia. The flood caused a lot of losses for the community, this is because the garbage that has accumulated in the waterways makes it difficult for the water to flow and when it rains enough it can cause the canal to be unable to accommodate a lot of water so it overflows onto the road and causes floods to occur. From this condition, a system is needed that aims to monitor the height and turbidity of the water. This research will be designed using NodeMCU as a microcontroller and communication with android applications via the internet. The method used is a literature study by collecting data related to the problem, analyzing needs for research, designing tools, testing, analyzing systems and documentation, and compiling research reports. The results of this study are a prototype tool that is used as a monitoring system for water level and turbidity using an android application as an early flood warning. © 2022 IEEE.
