Our research demonstrates a discrete speech system that empowers those afflicted with speech impairments to convey ideas by internally articulating words without producing audible sound. This method harnesses the minimal movements involved in articulation, making it less arduous than conventional vocalization, especially for individuals facing communication challenges. Silent Speech Interfaces (SSIs) form the foundation of our research, enabling the decoding of neuromuscular signals associated with internal speech articulation to facilitate non-invasive and effective communication for individuals with speech impairments. This research entails the utilization of a multi-electrode configuration to capture subtle, low-voltage electrical signals positioned on the surface area of the subject's neck. These signals emerge as a consequence of neural activation within the speech articulator muscles, signifying the internal articulation of words within the oral cavity, accompanied by minimal physical movement. Subsequent to signal acquisition, a comprehensive analysis of the data is conducted using a biosensing board (Cyton), facilitated by the implementation of the OpenBCI GUI interface and visualization via Python plotting tools. © 2025 IEEE.

In response to the escalating demand for electricity, the aging process and inherent failures in power lines have become unavoidable challenges in their operational integrity. This research addresses the imperative need for a robust method to detect damage in power insulator disc images, introducing a novel feature extraction technique grounded in color intensity profile transformation and ensemble learning. For the purposes of the research, a specific dataset was developed based on publicly available images of power insulators. The collection consists of 9232 images of insulator discs which included 2184 images of damaged discs. The discernible damages include breakages and burnouts. Two distinct analysis variants were employed. In the first variant (V1), two classification groups were selected: disc with damages and disc without damages. In the second variant (V2), three classification groups were selected: discs without damage, broken discs, and burnout discs. The described research was divided into two successive stages. In the first of them (S1), the transformed color intensity profiles for the prepared data set were built and various machine learning models for their classification were trained and evaluated. In the next stage (S2), previously developed, highest efficient machine learning models, were used to make the detection of various damaged types of overhead line insulator discs. For the first stage of research high-performance results and a high value of the F1 score parameters were obtained (F1 score = 0.999 for the first variant (S1V1) and F1 score = 0.992 for the second variant (S1V2). In the second stage of research and the first variant (S2V1), the highest result of the F1 score was 0.932 and for the second variant (S2V2) F1 score was 0.930. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2024.

Data Augmentation (DA) is an effective strategy to increase model generalisation. In Natural Language Processing (NLP), DA remains in its early stages, primarily due to the inherent sensitivity of textual data, which complicates the augmentation process. These complexities are further increased in multilingual contexts, as DA techniques effective in one language may not yield comparable results in others. As a result, manually identifying optimal DA techniques that preserve semantic integrity and are language agnostic remains a significant challenge. It emphasises the necessity for automating the text DA process with Explainable Artificial Intelligence (XAI), which offers a promising approach by calculating word importance scores to effectively guide the augmentation. In this paper, a comprehensive review of existing approaches in auto-text DA is presented, beginning with an exploration of the concept of auto-text DA, followed by a discussion on its cross-lingual applications, and concluding with the integration of XAI for semantic preservation. The paper highlights the critical need for further research to enhance the effectiveness and applicability of XAI in auto-text DA, enabling its use across diverse languages. © 2025 IEEE.

Blockchain technology, a transformative force in digital transactions, has emerged as a significant enabler of secure, transparent, and traceable operations within supply chain management and logistics (SCML). Its immutable nature facilitates enhanced management of SCML activities by seamlessly integrating information flow throughout the value chain, and substantially increasing data integrity and operational reliability. While organizations are attracted to these capabilities, they still lack comprehensive guidelines to fully benefit from blockchain in SCML. There is a fundamental need to assist organizations in assessing and enhancing their blockchain-based SCML capabilities. Maturity models (MMs) are tools that help organizations assess and improve their processes, providing step-by-step guidelines from basic to advanced levels of maturity. Therefore, this study aims to identify and analyze MMs focused on blockchain-based SCML. An extensive systematic literature review (SLR) was conducted, and thirteen relevant studies were identified and evaluated against a comprehensive set of quality criteria. The analysis revealed that none of the existing MMs fully satisfied all criteria, highlighting a significant gap in the field. This research provides a thorough systematic analysis of MMs for blockchain-based SCML, offering an in-depth view of their levels, dimensions, research focuses, domains, industry targets, and their quality evaluation. The significance of this study lies in identifying the necessity for an MM specifically designed for blockchain-based SCML, addressing a critical gap in the current literature. These findings contribute to the growing body of knowledge on blockchain integration in SCML and provide a foundation for future research. © 2024 The Authors. Published by Elsevier B.V.

Federated Learning (FL) offers a privacy-preserving solution by enabling multiple clients to train a shared model collaboratively without centralizing data. However, the decentralized nature of FL presents challenges, particularly regarding security and performance under adversarial conditions. This paper investigates the effects of poisoning attacks under data heterogeneity. Our experiments evaluate the impact of varying malicious client fractions and poison concentration levels on the accuracy of the model. We explore the effects of poisoning attacks on FedAvg and FedNova models using medical imaging tasks. Our findings reveal that increasing data heterogeneity exacerbates the effects of poisoning, with FedNova demonstrating greater resilience compared to FedAvg. We found that the number of malicious clients plays a more significant role in degrading performance than the ratio of poisoning samples shared by each malicious client, suggesting that even modest levels of poisoning can be tolerated by most algorithms. The study highlights the importance of developing robust defense mechanisms to maintain model performance under adversarial conditions. © 2025 IEEE.

Quantum computing is progressing at a fast rate and there is a real threat that classical cryptographic methods can be compromised and therefore impact the security of blockchain networks. All of the ways used to secure blockchain like Rivest–Shamir–Adleman (RSA), Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC) and Secure Hash Algorithm 256-bit (SHA256) are the characteristic of the traditional cryptographic techniques vulnerable to attack by quantum algorithms: Shor’s and Grover’s algorithms: can efficiently break asymmetric encryption and speed up brute force attacks. Because of this vulnerability, there exists a need to develop an advance quantum resilient blockchain framework to protect the decentralized ledgers from the future threats of the quantum. This research proposes Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC), Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) and Quantum Random Number Generation (QRNG) as a formidable architectural integration, to fortify security of blockchain. Classical encryption is replaced with PQC, QKD with secure key exchange by detecting eavesdropping, and QRNG with improving cryptographic randomness to remove the predictable key vulnerability. Only with a small loss of transaction efficiency, we increase transaction encryption accuracy, key exchange security, and resistance to quantum attacks. In this quantum enhanced blockchain design, the idea is to preserve the decentralization, transparency and security and at the same time overcome the future quantum threat. By going through rigorous analysis and comparative evaluation, we demonstrate that the approach saves blockchain networks from the emerging quantum risks to make sure that the decentralized finance, smart contracts and cross chain transactions. © (2025), (Science and Information Organization). This paper reviews the application of Large Language Models (LLMs) in addressing the growing sophistication of cybersecurity threats. By evaluating numerous studies, we delineate the role of LLMs in improving the detection, analysis, and response to cyber threats in real-time. Our findings demonstrate that LLMs significantly enhance the efficiency and accuracy of cybersecurity measures compared to traditional models. However, their deployment in cybersecurity frameworks involves critical considerations around ethics, privacy, and security. This review provides a succinct overview of LLMs’ current capabilities and practical implementations within the cybersecurity landscape, identifies research gaps, and suggests future research directions. Compact Yet Highly Accurate Printed Classifiers Using Sequential Support Vector Machine Circuits

Printed Electronics (PE) technology has emerged as a promising alternative to silicon-based computing. It offers attractive properties such as on-demand ultra-low-cost fabrication, mechanical flexibility, and conformality. However, PE are governed by large feature sizes, prohibiting the realization of complex printed Machine Learning (ML) classifiers. Leveraging PE’s ultra-low non-recurring engineering and fabrication costs, designers can fully customize hardware to a specific ML model and dataset, significantly reducing circuit complexity. Despite significant advancements, state-of-the-art solutions achieve area efficiency at the expense of considerable accuracy loss. Our work mitigates this by designing area- and power-efficient printed ML classifiers with little to no accuracy degradation. Specifically, we introduce the first sequential Support Vector Machine (SVM) classifiers, exploiting the hardware efficiency of bespoke control and storage units and a single Multiply-Accumulate compute engine. Our SVMs yield on average 6x lower area and 4.6% higher accuracy compared to the printed state of the art. © 2025, CC BY.

Late Breaking Results: Energy-Efficient Printed Machine Learning Classifiers with Sequential SVMs

Printed Electronics (PE) provide a mechanically flexible and cost-effective solution for machine learning (ML) circuits, compared to silicon-based technologies. However, due to large feature sizes, printed classifiers are limited by high power, area, and energy overheads, which restricts the realization of battery-powered systems. In this work, we design sequential printed bespoke Support Vector Machine (SVM) circuits that adhere to the power constraints of existing printed batteries while minimizing energy consumption, thereby boosting battery life. Our results show 6.5x energy savings while maintaining higher accuracy compared to the state of the art. © 2025, CC BY.
