The paper describes the energy consumption from the battery based on the current measurements for various cases, i.e., speed (PWL adjustment) and loads. The main purpose of the research is to have additional and reliable information about power consumption and battery life estimation for autonomous guided vehicles (AGV). The authors propose a two-step algorithm. In the first step, a linear classifier was proposed. Then, the KNN classifier was tested; however, it did not give satisfactory results, so it was finally decided to use the random forest to estimate the load and PWL. The time domain current measurement is evaluated, and the beforementioned algorithms process the selected statistical measures. It has been proven that a two-step algorithm allows for achieving high accuracy. Based on the current observation, the paper is a good starting point for further investigation of the AGV because it is usually implemented in the AGV – so it does not require additional hardware. Moreover, it can lead to better energy management and increase battery lifetime.

Output voltage regulation in a boost converter with Constant Power Load (CPL) can be obtained by means of sliding-mode control with a linear estimation loop of the output power. The estimation procedure is a simple integrator of the output voltage error and confers an adaptive nature on the switching regulator. Two switching surfaces of quadratic type are considered to induce the sliding motions, and the corresponding conditions for the existence of both sliding mode and stability of the equilibrium point are derived. The resulting controller can be implemented using simple analog electronics requiring operational amplifier-based circuits in both cases plus a multiplier in one case and a multiplier and a divider in the other case. PSIM and MATLAB simulations show a fast recovery and zero steady-state output voltage error in response to large-signal disturbances in the output voltage and the load power.

The development of multi-cloud systems with an acceptable level of service delays that significantly affect the quality of the end-users experience is an open research problem, for which simulation is successfully used. This paper proposes a simulation model in Matlab for estimating the time to write data updates initiated by the end-users to the databases of all cloud service providers for a multi-cloud system with a geo-distributed middleware that implements, as an example, the VIP-grab data consistency protocol. The simulation results indicate that our model can be useful in choosing a data consistency protocol that influences the architecture of a multicloud system. © 2022 IEEE.

In response to thermal runaway(TR)of electric vehicles,recent attention has been focused on mitigation strategies such as efficient heat dredging in battery thermal *** management with particular focus on battery cooling has been becoming increasingly *** usually happened when an electric vehicle is unpowered and *** this state,traditional active battery cooling schemes are disabled,which can easily lead to dangerous incidents due to loss of cooling ability,and advanced passive cooling strategies are therefore gaining ***,we developed an enhanced thermal radiation material,consisting of~1μm thick multilayered nano-sheet graphene film coated upon the heat dissipation surface,thereby enhancing thermal radiation in the *** surface was characterized on the nanoscale,and tested in a battery-cooling *** found that the graphene-based coating's spectral emissivity is between 91% and 95% in the mid-infrared region,and thermal experiments consequently illustrated that graphene-based radiative cooling yielded up to15.1% temperature reduction when compared to the uncoated *** the novel graphene surface to augment a heat pipe,the temperature reduction can be further enlarged to 25.6%.The new material may contribute to transportation safety,global warming mitigation and carbon neutralization.

Breast cancer is one of the most important diseases that lead to death, according to the reports of the World Health Organization. Reports also indicated that breast cancer affects women more than men. Late or wrong diagnosis leads to a deterioration in the patient's condition and may lead to death. Therefore, automated multiple classifications using machine learning of breast cancer from histopathological images plays a major role in the early diagnosis of the disease. Multiple classifications of breast cancer is the identification of tumors such as Carcinoma, Fibroadenoma, Cysts, etc. However, this type of classification faces many challenges such as extracting subtle differences between the binary classes of tumors and whether they are benign or malignant, strong coherence of tumor cells and widespread color heterogeneity. Therefore, we propose in this paper the use of a sophisticated model that works on semantic segmentation and extracting distinctive patterns and classifying them using a deep neural network. The structured deep learning model performed impressively (average accuracy of 98.7%) on a large-scale data set, demonstrating the power of our method in providing an effective tool for classifying multiple breast cancers in clinical settings. © 2022 IEEE.

This study aims to develop a virtual reality (VR) application to improve the fault detection and troubleshooting processes of autonomous industrial mobile robots. The complex systems and operating environments of autonomous robots make fault detection challenging for users, requiring effective and user-friendly solutions to overcome these difficulties. In this context, the Robot Operating System (ROS) was utilized to detect errors in robots and record these errors in a database. Thanks to the modular structure and robust communication infrastructure offered by ROS, faults in the robots were monitored and analyzed through ROS *** study demonstrates the effective use of VR technology in the maintenance and repair processes of autonomous industrial mobile robots. By integrating ROS-based data collection and fault detection into a VR environment for user training, robot operators are enabled to troubleshoot faults more quickly and effectively. In this way, it is aimed to achieve time and cost savings in industrial processes.

This study aims to compare and improve the performance of four different machine learning algorithms (Naive Bayes, Multi-Layer Perceptron (MLP), Decision Trees, and Support Vector Machines (SVM)) in classification problems. The analyses emphasize the impact of data preprocessing steps and hyperparameter optimization on model performance. As part of the data preprocessing, missing values were imputed, categorical data were transformed into numerical data, and normalization procedures were applied. It was observed that normalization significantly enhanced the performance of the MLP and SVM algorithms in particular. Furthermore, additional improvements in accuracy rates were achieved through hyperparameter optimization. Naive Bayes and Decision Trees were found to exhibit stable performance regardless of data scaling. This study demonstrates that proper data preprocessing and model selection can significantly enhance algorithm performance in classification problems.

Architected materials derive performance characteristics from material properties and internal geometry. These materials are increasingly prevalent across a wide variety of domains. Many intricate feature geometries associated with architected materials can be explored using additive manufacturing (AM) processes. However, current AM methods generally cannot fabricate geometries with completely closed voids without introducing a support structure. This paper describes a new, support-free approach to AM capable of creating structures with closed voids. This work limits part geometry to three-dimensional (3D) geometries defined by a revolution about a single axis. This limitation enables planar analysis within a three-degree-of-freedom (3-DoF) task space. Part geometry in 3-DoF task space is constrained to a convex arch. Task space geometry is divided into an ordered set of sub-regions, considering feasible deposition orientations and collision constraints. The use of 3-DoF task space provides planar translation and rotation of the component during fabrication. The introduction of this rotational DoF addresses AM overhang constraints imposed by gravity. Methods for generating, ordering, and layering sub-regions suitable for printing a part with a closed hole are presented. Layers derived in the 3-DoF task space analysis are then extended to 3D deposition paths using the axis of revolution defined by the original part. The method of hole closure relies on the concept of a "keystone" which requires a 45° nozzle offset for collision-free deposition within keystone-adjacent sub-regions. The feasibility of deposition using a 45° nozzle offset is explored experimentally, and results demonstrate feasibility.

3D point cloud registration is a fundamental problem in computer vision, computer graphics, robotics, remote sensing, and etc. Over the last thirty years, we have witnessed the amazing advancement in this area with numerous kinds of solutions. Although a handful of relevant surveys have been conducted, their coverage is still limited. In this work, we present a comprehensive survey on 3D point cloud registration, covering a set of sub-areas such as pairwise coarse registration, pairwise fine registration, multi-view registration, cross-scale registration, and multi-instance registration. The datasets, evaluation metrics, method taxonomy, discussions of the merits and demerits, insightful thoughts of future directions are comprehensively presented in this survey. In this paper, we propose an algorithm for detecting artifacts in long-term video-EEG monitoring data in the problem of diagnosing cerebral ischemia after subarachnoid hemorrhage. The algorithm is based on a threshold detector using the smoothed optical flow value. The optical flow is calculated from the video frames of long-term video-EEG monitoring. We conducted a computational experiment that showed the following: (a) artifacts are detected with accuracy acceptable for diagnosing cerebral ischemia during synchronous analysis of video data and EEG signals;(b) artifacts can be detected in real time. © 2023 IEEE.
