JC-GN: multi-scene joint conditional network for remote sensing sequence imagery generation under spatio-temporal variation

Remote sensing imagery plays an important role in the research and application of environmental change, such as phenology changes, land surface parameter relationships, land degradation, etc. However, remote sensing observation data are often missing due to sensor resolution limitations and environmental factors. The missing images may occur randomly or continuously, which is difficult to deal with this situation with conventional methods. To address this issue, we perform the multi-scene joint conditional generation network (JC-GN) based on radiation properties to learn the complex mapping between phase images. The proposed model introduces multi-scene joint conditional loss to constrain the spatio-temporal characteristics of the generated image. Our experiments, conducted utilizing unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) datasets and the Landsat-8 datasets, which are located in the southeast of Gansu Province (34.73∘N, 105.50∘E), demonstrate that the proposed methodology achieves promising performance in terms of both precision (RMSE decreases by about 2.5 points, PSNR increases by about 10 points, and SSIM increases by about 0.03 points) and effectiveness (time cost savings of about 50 percent), and data-driven model exhibits a superior capacity to simulate intricate information with greater fidelity. © The Author(s) 2025.

This paper examines a fluid antenna (FA)-assisted simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (SWIPT) system. Unlike traditional SWIPT systems with fixed-position antennas (FPAs), our FA-assisted system enables dynamic reconfiguration of the radio propagation environment by adjusting the positions of FAs. This capability enhances both energy harvesting and communication performance. The system comprises a base station (BS) equipped with multiple FAs that transmit signals to an energy receiver (ER) and an information receiver (IR), both equipped with a single FA. Our objective is to maximize the communication rate between the BS and the IR while satisfying the harvested power requirement of the ER. This involves jointly optimizing the BS's transmit beamforming and the positions of all FAs. To address this complex convex optimization problem, we employ an alternating optimization (AO) approach, decomposing it into three sub-problems and solving them iteratively using first and second-order Taylor expansions. Simulation results validate the effectiveness of our proposed FA-assisted SWIPT system, demonstrating significant performance improvements over traditional FPA-based systems. © 2025 IEEE.

Multiple antennas at transmitter and receiver have significantly improved the performance of wireless communications systems. Traditionally, space-time coding, beamforming, or spatial multiplexing are applied to achieve diversity, SNR, and multiplexing gains, respectively. A different concept is pursued with Generalized Spatial Modulation (GSM). It conveys information through the selection of active antennas from a set of available antennas in addition to the transmission of conventional modulation symbols. This results in sparse transmit vectors, and detection algorithms known from compressed sensing can be applied. In this paper, Vector Approximate Message Passing (VAMP) is considered for the detection of GSM signals in massive Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) systems. Its performance is improved by introducing structured redundancy in space or in time. In order to exploit this redundancy, the VAMP algorithm has to be extended by an additional graph layer. The resulting performance is evaluated by analyzing the error rates and the throughput obtained from Monte Carlo simulations. © 2025 IEEE.

Mechanical Constraint Identification in Model-Mediated Teleoperation

Model-Mediated Teleoperation (MMT) is a form of teleoperation where a model is used to display operator commands to the environment and environmental feedback to the operator. This circumvents the performance-stability trade-off to which many other teleoperation methods are prone under high time delays. An aspect of MMT which has received little attention is the modelling of rigid-body constraints, which are important for many manipulation tasks. In this paper, we detail a description of rigid body constraints and highlight a specific type of contact: the Lower Pair, of which the contacts found in hinged doors and household drawers, for instance, are examples. We also present a method for estimating these Lower Pairs and test it in a real world scenario. Results show that it is robust to measurement noise, as well as small amounts of movement in the constrained directions. © 2016 IEEE.

Supply chain management and Hyperledger are two interconnected domains. They leverage blockchain technology to enhance efficiency, transparency, and security in supply chain operations. Together, they provide a decentralized, traceable, and real-time platform for recording and managing transactions. This combination is particularly valuable for industries dealing with sensitive goods, as it provides accurate traceability and real-time information. This paper explores the integration of supply chain management with Hyperledger blockchain technology to enhance efficiency, transparency, and security in supply chain operations. We propose a decentralized Hyperledger Fabric blockchain network to improve traceability, security, and efficiency by monitoring environmental conditions. This approach is particularly beneficial for transporting sensitive goods, such as medical supplies and perishable items, by ensuring optimal conditions and real-time data accessibility. The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) further enhances insights, reduces waste, and improves overall efficiency. By utilizing a distributed network free from third-party intermediaries, the system ensures immutability and remote accessibility, addressing challenges related to transporting heat and humidity sensitive products. Our experimental assessment demonstrates the benefits of private blockchain technologies, including enhanced security, regulatory compliance, compatibility, flexibility, and scalability. A novel electrochemical aptasensor was designed for the simultaneous detection of aflatoxin B1 (AFB1) and deoxynivalenol (DON) using dual-working microelectrodes and PDMS-based microfluidic channels. The system provides high sensitivity, with detection limits of 7.74 pg/mL for AFB1 and 0.172 ng/mL for DON across broad ranges (0.03 - 300 ng/mL for AFB1, 0.3 - 3000 ng/mL for DON). Results can be obtained within 20 minutes, and the platform exhibits excellent reproducibility, selectivity, and stability. Validation with corn extract highlights its potential for on-site food safety monitoring. © 2025 IEEE.

In multi-receiver passive radar systems, coherent detection assumes accurate synchronisation between receivers. However, achieving this in practice is challenging. By creating a virtual radar environment we can investigate the effect of time, frequency offset and drift in different receiver configurations. Using the Generalised Canonical Correlation Analysis (GCCA) detector, a high performance coherent detector, the effect on localization performance is analysed under controlled conditions. The key output of this work demonstrates that synchronization errors significantly affect localization performance, particularly where the detection performance is relying on coherent detection. Understanding the impact of synchronization errors is crucial for improving and developing future multi-receiver passive radar and distributed beamforming systems. © 2025 IEEE.

Conventionally, a virtual synchronous generator (VSG) is designed for islanded mode (IM) operation to meet specific operational requirements such as the rate of change of frequency (RoCoF). However, the operation of VSG designed for IM may not meet the operational and control criteria in grid connected mode (GCM) when the grid conditions vary. In addition, conventional VSG control technology does not consider the influence of the presynchronization scheme when connected to a weak grid, which degrades the RoCoF in IM. To overcome the aforementioned challenges, the proposed study presents a twin-delayed deep deterministic policy gradient (TD3) algorithm to improve the seamless transition performance of VSG from IM to GCM and vice versa. In the first step, the VSG-based power system model is used as a foundation for problem formulation of the proposed TD3 algorithm. Secondly, a reward function is designed according to the performance requirements, i.e., frequency and RoCoF requirements, of the VSG in order to guide the training of the agent in varying load, power reference, and grid conditions. Finally, the superiority of the proposed algorithm over existing methods is validated in MATLAB/SIMULINK and RTDS based real-time simulation environment. © 1986-2012 IEEE.

There is a significant correlation between depression, verbal behavior, and facial expressions. By analyzing patients' audio and facial visuals, depression assessments can be conducted. However, existing work is predominantly based on single modalities. Additionally, acquiring a sufficient amount of labeled data in clinical settings is challenging and costly. To leverage multimodal audio-visual data while addressing the issue of lacking trainable labeled data, we propose an audiovisual multimodal semi-supervised depression detection model based on Graph Neural Networks (AVS-GNN). This model first extracts dual-modality temporal information from audio features and facial visual features of patients and obtains modality-specific high-level embedding representations through graph representation learning. Subsequently, it utilizes graph-based contrastive unsupervised learning to capture consistency information between pairs of unlabeled samples across different modalities and to facilitate cross-modal interactions. We specifically designed a hybrid weighted pseudo-labeling strategy to assign high-confidence pseudo-labels to unlabeled data and further retraining the model. Experiments on two depression datasets show that this model outperforms baseline methods across all evaluation metrics. © 2025 IEEE.

Due to recent expansion of wireless communications, it has become impossible to cope with the allotment of the precious spectrum while resources for wireless communication are bounded and finite. Hence, the cognitive radio concept is introduced to ensure optimal utilization of these invaluable resources. By emerging research in the field of cognitive radio network, fresh researchers are looking for a suitable simulator for the cognitive radio network since the implementation and testbed is not practical and feasible invariably. Moreover, there is no simulator that has been designed with cognitive radio networks in mind. Furthermore, this research area is relatively new. Therefore, often it becomes very hard to decide which network simulator to work with, as the availability of reference is significantly low. As a result, much effort is required to make a proper decision. In this paper, we take a detailed look at current simulators used by researchers in the field of cognitive radio networks to help researchers identify appropriate tools for simulation. To further aid researchers, we classify the simulation tools, demonstrate their architectures, describe features, elucidate advantages and disadvantages of these tools, and report some open issues and challenges for future research. © 2025 The Authors.
