This paper deals with the simulation calculation of transmission (S21) and reflection (S22) parameters in a material parametrically based on clay (brick). The electromagnetic parameters of the clay that are the subject of the study are: relative permittivity Εr, loss tangent tan δ and electrical conductivity σ, while the only structural parameter is the thickness d of the sample. The values of all considered parameters are within the range of data from available literature and values that could occur due to external causes (e. g. an increase in clay moisture leads to an increase in electrical conductivity). The simulation model was carried out with the software tool ANSYS HFSS and validated with a laboratory measurement model. The laboratory model consists of a circular waveguide with an inner diameter of 150 mm and a total length of 700 mm, which is excited by 52 mm long probes placed 50 mm from the last wall of the waveguide. The lower cut-off frequency of this measurement system is 1.173 GHz, so all results (simulation and measurement) are limited by this lower cut-off frequency of the waveguide. All simulation calculations were performed for three clay sample thicknesses: 18 mm, 36 mm and 54 mm. These calculations were made with the aim of determining brick composites that have high attenuation of electromagnetic EM waves (low transmission parameter and high reflection parameter) in order to reduce the strength of EM fields inside the object made of such bricks. This paper brings the concept of 'optimism' to the new and promising framework of online Non-stochastic Control (NSC). Namely, we study how NSC can benefit from a prediction oracle of unknown quality responsible for forecasting future costs. The posed problem is first reduced to an optimistic learning with delayed feedback problem, which is handled through the Optimistic Follow the Regularized Leader (OFTRL) algorithmic family. This reduction enables the design of OptFTRL-C, the first Disturbance Action Controller (DAC) with optimistic policy regret bounds. These new bounds are commensurate with the oracle's accuracy, ranging from O (1) for perfect predictions to the order-optimal O(ST) even when all predictions fail. By addressing the challenge of incorporating untrusted predictions into online control, this work contributes to the advancement of the NSC framework and paves the way toward effective and robust learning-based controllers. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper advances the schedulability analysis of the Adaptive Mixed-Criticality for Weakly Hard Real-Time Systems (AMC-WH) which allows a specified number of consecutive low-criticality (LO) jobs of tasks to be skipped when the system operates in the high-criticality (HI) mode. The current AMC-WH schedulability test, based on the skip-over model, in which low tasks are guaranteed to meet m-s out of m consecutive deadlines, where s is the number of allowed skips and m is the cycle length, only calculates the worst-case response times (WCRT) for low tasks under a fixed execution pattern post-mode switch. To address this limitation, we propose a new sufficient schedulability test for AMC-WH using the (m,k)-firm model, which allows various execution patterns for low tasks after a mode switch, enhancing the flexibility and applicability. Additionally, we develop an exact schedulability test for AMC-WH based on response time analysis (RTA). This test modifies the existing exact tests for the AMC algorithm, incorporating updates to state-space exploration and pruning rules to account for low task execution after a mode switch. Simulation results validate the effectiveness of our tests, demonstrating enhanced schedulability analysis and optimized resource allocation. © 2024 IEEE.

In today's modern world, efficient programming is a necessity. To speed up code generation nowadays, programming code is generated using different graphical tools. Although efficient, this technology is scarcely used in embedded system development. In this paper, we present a procedure for block-based visual programming with applications in embedded systems development. We present several examples of blocks using the Blockly open-source visual programming tool and test the implementation on selected Infineon XMC-based boards. The presented programming solution shows successful implementation of block-based visual programming in embedded systems development. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper explores the stability of incommensurate fractional-order models. Building on previous work that introduced a method for assessing stability and calculating delay margins for single delay models, this study extends the analysis to models with multiple delay parameters. The proposed method assumes all delayed signals within the model act as disturbances. By employing the generalized smallgain theorem, stability conditions are established. These conditions rely on the H∞ norm and frequency analysis, resulting in final outcomes that depend on the fractional orders of the model. Importantly, the derived stability condition is independent of the delay parameter values. © 2024 IEEE.

The surge in video streaming has created a pressing need for efficient delivery mechanisms and robust real-time analysis capabilities. This paper presents a comprehensive video stream analysis system designed to operate seamlessly across 5G, 4G, and Wi-Fi networks, handling both unicast and multicast streaming. By leveraging the versatility of FFmpeg and MistServer, the system offers extensive real-time analysis capabilities, regardless of the transmission protocol, media container format, or video/audio coding standard. This adaptability makes the system well-suited for the diverse and dynamic nature of internet media *** paper outlines the system's architecture, details the implementation of its FFmpeg-based decoding and analysis processes, and discusses the integration of 5G, 4G, and Wi-Fi networks to enhance performance. Through rigorous evaluations, the system's scalability, reliability, and ability to maintain high-quality streaming across different network environments are demonstrated. Due to the length as well as the complexity of DNA sequences, recognizing patterns in DNA is an exhausting task. For this purpose, machine learning techniques have been proven to be successful, although they often need a lot of training data. I'm developing a machine-learning strategy for identifying DNA patterns. My objective is to create a technique that can swiftly spot patterns throughout DNA sequences. This might be used to discover novel genes, create new diagnostic tests, or understand how DNA sequences have evolved. The method combines an effective data processing technique with some machine learning algorithms. The processing of the DNA sequence dataset is utilized to learn the connections between the characteristics that the pattern-matching algorithm extracts from the DNA sequences and the intended output. A simple approach that can rapidly find patterns in DNA sequences is the effective process of the dataset of DNA sequences. A more advanced algorithm that may develop more intricate connections between the input data and the desired result is the deep neural network or machine learning. This approach was selected considering it is more effective and precise than current approaches. Because it doesn't need a lot of training data, it is more effective. Because it can discover more intricate connections between the attributes and the intended result, it is more accurate. © 2023 IEEE.

The task of 3D visual grounding involves the challenge of accurately locating an object within a 3D scene based on an accompanying textual description. This task marks an emerging frontier at the intersection of 3D vision and language, with diverse real-world applications. Notably, compared to visual grounding on images, visual grounding on point clouds is a more challenging task. In recent 3D visual grounding approaches, a common strategy involves adopting a two-stage grounding-by-detection paradigm, with an emphasis on using robust detectors and employing language encoding modules. In this work, rather than relying on different detectors, we focus on generating enriched object proposals that can be more effectively fused with distinct features extracted from textual descriptions. To achieve this, we present an attentive fusion module (AFM) for fusing two distinct feature spaces. we employ transformers to model complex relationships between objects in a scene and fuse these representations with text features. The conducted experiments demonstrate that the proposed framework outperforms the previous works on ScanRefer dataset in both Acc@0.25 and Acc@0.5 metrics. © 2024 IEEE.

Non-intrusive Appliance Load Monitoring (NALM) is essential for efficient electricity consumption tracking in households, promoting eco-friendly practices, and cost reduction. Privacy concerns in real-world NALM implementations can be addressed using federated learning. However, challenges persist, such as limited training data, edge model customization, and resource constraints. We introduce a practical federated learning framework for NALM, leveraging cloud-based model compression, collaborative data collection, and personalized edge and multi-task learning models through unsupervised transfer learning. Our advanced load monitoring model offers precise energy disaggregation through real-world experimentation, making it a leading solution for non-intrusive appliance load monitoring on edge devices. It maintains excellent learning performance and user privacy. Future research should aim to enhance federated learning efficiency and tackle remaining challenges in practical NALM implementations © 2024 IEEE.
