Over the years, the number of users of social media has increased drastically. People frequently share their thoughts through social platforms, and this leads to an increase in hate content. In this virtual community, individuals share their views, express their feelings, and post photos, videos, blogs, and more. Social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter provide platforms to share vast amounts of content with a single click. However, these platforms do not impose restrictions on the uploaded content, which may include abusive language and explicit images unsuitable for social media. To resolve this issue, a new idea must be implemented to divide the inappropriate content. Numerous studies have been done to automate the process. In this paper, we propose a new Bi-GRU-CNN model to classify whether the text is offensive or not. The combination of the Bi-GRU and CNN models outperforms the existing models. ©2024 IEEE.

Leveraging the integration of visual and proprioceptive cues, research has uncovered various perception thresholds in VR that can be exploited to support haptic feedback for grasping. While previous studies have explored individual dimensions, such as size, the combined effect of multiple geometric properties on perceptual illusions remains poorly understood. We present a two-alternative forced choice study investigating the perceptual interplay between object size and taper angle. We introduce an illusion space model, providing detailed insights into how physical and virtual object configurations affect human perception. Our insights reveal how, for example, as virtual sizes increase, users perceive that taper angles increase, and as virtual angles decrease, users overestimate sizes. We provide a mathematical model of the illusion space, and an associated tool, which can be used as a guide for the design of future VR haptic devices and for proxy object selections. © 2025 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).

Opacity is a security and privacy property that guarantees predefined secret behavior of a cyber-physical system will not be inferred with certainty by a malicious entity. If a system is opacity-violating, extended insertion functions that insert fake symbols can be implemented to enforce opacity. By constricting the ways in which the fake symbols are inserted, this paper addresses opacity enforcement under the framework of finite state automata using extended insertion functions under event insertion constraints and limited insertion events constraints, i.e., only a limited number of symbols in a specified set can be inserted before and after an actual system output. The notion of (kb,ka)-EIC-enforceability is proposed to describe how to enforce opacity via extended insertion functions in the presence of both event insertion constraints and limited insertion events constraints. A necessary and sufficient condition to check (kb,ka)-EIC-enforceability is derived by constructing an appropriate verifier. © 2023 IEEE.

AI-generated images (AIGIs) are becoming popular and can be employed in many applications, owing to Generative AI (GAI). Researchers have developed models that can be used to generate images for different scenarios. In addition, researchers have proposed datasets of natural scene images for language learning and different AIGI-quality datasets for general applications. For e-learning, particularly in the context of language learning, no AIGI dataset is currently available. To fill this gap, we first proposed an AIGI quality dataset for language learning. Both subjective and objective assessments have been conducted on the proposed dataset. The findings from subjective assessment show that higher perceptual quality also corresponds to a more substantial alignment. It also shows that the average MOS scores of images generated from Stability AI models are similar and lower than images generated by the Dall.E3 model. The results of the objective assessment indicate that the performance of off-the-shelf quality models is generally low. In addition, results from finetuning learning-based quality models show that significant gains and improvements can be achieved using the dataset. The results of the alignment evaluation show that the HPS model is the best, and realistic images in the dataset produced the best alignment correlation compared to the other styles in the dataset. The findings also show that multimodal large language models, such as vision-enabled GPT-4 (GPT-4V), still struggle to produce alignment scores that correlate with humans.

The utilisation of ML (Machine Learning) techniques in the detection of the VP (Voice Pathology) has recently gained a lot of consideration. However, these efforts still have several drawbacks such as: I) the accuracy rates of most previous works are still not promising and need more improvement. II) The majority of the previous works have concentrated on the task of VP detection only and disregarded the task of VP classification. III) Most of the previous works have been assessed based on a single voice data only like the vowel /a/, and the other vowels (/i/, and /u/) and sentences were disregarded. IV) The majority of the previous works performance were assessed utilising a limited evaluation metrics. Recently, one of the utmost effective ML techniques is FLN (Fast Learning Network), it is an efficient technique for data classification. However, the FLN classifier has not been implemented to the problem of VP detection and classification. Therefore, this research proposes the FLN classifier with MFCC (Mel-Frequency Cepstral Coefficient) features in order to enhance the accuracy of the VP detection and classification. The FLN classifier has the ability to a) solve both binary and multiclass classification issues, b) eliminate overfitting, as well as c) operate akin to a NN (Neural Network) structure while employing the principles of a kernel-based SVM (Support Vector Machine). In this research, the SVD (Saarbrucken Voice Database) dataset was utilised to assess the FLN classifier performance in the VP detection and classification. The assessment of the proposed FLN classifier was conducted based on two phases: the first phase includes all the voice samples of the SVD dataset with the sentences and vowels (i.e., /a/, /i/, and /u/) which are pronounced in neutral, high, and low pitches. While the second phase uses the voice samples of the utmost common 3 pathology types (i.e., paralysis, polyp, and cyst) based on the vowel /a/ that is pronounced in neutral pitch. The

This study examines the growing number of satellites, this paper explores the importance of satellite tracking and highlights NOAA-15 for information transmission and weather monitoring. It offers a low-cost configuration for receiving circularly polarized signals, using a Software Defined Radio (SDR) at 137.62 MHz and a V-dipole antenna. The directional characteristics of the V-dipole maximize capture efficiency by improving signal reception during particular satellite orbits. The flexible SDR, in particular the RTL SDR USB dongle, is used to detail signal decoding for Automatic Picture Transmission (APT), allowing for effective processing and tracking. High-quality APT photos are produced by this hardware-software integration, highlighting NOAA's crucial role in international weather forecasting. The study also emphasizes how simple and inexpensive it is to use the V-dipole antenna to receive NOAA weather satellite signals. © 2024 IEEE.

Assistive mobile applications play a pivotal role for visually impaired individuals worldwide. These applications often face challenges in currency recognition due to varying perspectives, inconsistent illumination, and background clutter. This issue is especially pressing in developing countries like Thailand, where there is a notable gap in robust currency recognition systems, particularly for the new Thai currency notes. This study employs a deep learning approach using a convolutional neural network (CNN) to automate the recognition of the new Thai currency notes. Using transfer learning, we fine-tuned the CNN using the Xception model, renowned for its depth-wise separable convolution. The network trained on a meticulously curated dataset comprising 3600 images (without data augmentation) of five different denominations of the new Thai currency (20, 50, 100, 500, and 1000 baht) notes, captured under various conditions. The resulting model achieved an average training accuracy of 99.5% and a validation accuracy of 99.8%. Given its robustness and high accuracy, the model can be integrated into an Android application. Such an application would offer a user-friendly and reliable tool for visually impaired individuals to effortlessly identify the new Thai currency notes in their everyday transactions. © 2024 IEEE.
