Herman has a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering and is a Teaching Assistant Professor in Computer Science and a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Curriculum & Instruction at the University of Illinois. His research focuses on how students learn engineering and computing concepts and studying processes for creating systemic instructional change in college settings.
