To solve large-scale and hard constraint satisfaction problems (CSPs), ant colony optimization (ACO) has been studied as one of the metaheuristics. Lévy ACO, which incorporates Lévy Flight (LF) into ACO, has been proposed as a more efficient method for solving CSPs. However, Lévy ACO has a fixed parameter that determines the frequency of LF use (LF parameter), throughout the search process, leading to reduce the efficiency of the search. In this paper, we propose a method to dynamically adjust the LF parameter according to the search progresses. We demonstrate that our method can solve large-scale and hard graph coloring problems, which is one of CSPs, more efficiently than the previous methods. © 2024 IEEE.

We propose a Virtual Reality (VR) tennis serve training system based on the machine learning-based 3D skeleton estimation method. Our approach utilizes a single-view 3D skeleton estimation machine learning model to predict the serve motion of a coach from professional tennis players' videos. User movements are acquired from motion capture sensors and compared to the motions of the professional tennis players in real time, and feedback is provided based on the user's body motion. Compared to existing works, our approach can capture and generate a serve motion based on one video, which paves the way for utilizing existing videos of expert tennis players for tennis training in VR. We believe our system can provide a new method to motivate users to practice tennis by directly imitating their favorite expert tennis players. Moreover, we expect our approach to have performance advantages when compared to existing approaches, as it focuses on training that involves motion and posture of the user's entire body. © 2023 IEEE.

Distributed Key Value Stores (Distributed KVS) are used in large-scale cloud systems to manage huge amounts of data and to provide the required availability and fragmentation tolerance. In a KVS consisting of many physical nodes, the performance of each physical node is uniform at the beginning of the configuration, but during long-term operation of a cloud system causes variations in the performance of the physical nodes. Therefore, it was necessary to consider a load balancing placement scheme that takes heterogeneous performance into account. In previous studies, a vnode placement method has been proposed to create multiple virtual nodes (vnodes) on a physical node and then equalize the load when the performance of the physical node is mixed between 1x and 2x. However, the proposed method is limited to the case where the performance of physical nodes is mixed between 1x and 2x, and the performance of physical nodes that are added year by year cannot be limited to 1x and 2x. To solve this problem, this paper proposes a method of allocating physical nodes and vnodes when multiple physical nodes have multiple performances. A simulator is also created to evaluate the performance of the proposed method and to compare it with previous methods. © 2024 IEEE.

The incorporation of neural networks into medical imaging has recently resulted in significant modifications to diagnosis. This article looks at the job of brain networks in clinical picture handling, featuring their enhancements in exactness, speed and consistency across different clinical spaces. In recent years, circuit design of high-frequency active quasi-circulator for full-duplex wireless systems have attracted wide attention in the area of Microwave and Radio Frequency (RF) circuits. This paper presents the design of an active quasi-circulator intended for operation in the 60 GHz Industrial, Scientific, and Medical (ISM) radio band, employing 22nm FD-SOI technology. The goal is to achieve a low noise figure, superior isolation, and a high-power handling capability, as measured by the 1 dB compression point. The quasi-circulator design incorporates a Wilkinson power divider and low noise amplifier, yielding a noise figure of 7 dB, 18 dBm power handling, 20 dB isolation, and 2.08 mW power consumption. © 2023 IEEE.

In virtual worlds such as those realized through virtual reality technologies, the participants usually use the third-person perspective to see a wider area because the third-person perspective provides a variety of benefits. In this study, we propose an approach using both the first-person and third-person perspectives in real world applications, such as in smart city services, and evaluate the potential opportunities to offer more advanced digital services. We collect use cases and opinions for designing the prototype system's video presentation methods. Then, we implement prototype systems that enable the users to see from both the first-person and third-person perspectives by using webcams and a head-mounted display. Our approach makes it possible to develop new types of game-inspired smart city services that offer more opportunities through the multiple perspectives. © 2022 IEEE.

Electronic nose (e-nose) technology has become a powerful tool for identifying and evaluating complex scents in a variety of contexts, such as environmental monitoring, medical diagnostics, and food quality control. This review study looks at how important pattern recognition and data processing are to improving e-nose system performance. This study covered challenges, including data complexity, cross-sensitivity and interference, sensor drift, and a lack of standardization. The article covers several future directions, such as the use of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning to advance pattern recognition and predictive analytics, integration with the Internet of Things (IoT) and big data for real-time monitoring, and advancements in sensor technology for improved sensitivity and *** research work is underway towards the development of low power flexible sensors, improved multi sensor fusion Methodologies, smart adaptive algorithms, Application for personalized health monitoring and diagnostics as well to make it green technologies. To move forward with emerging technologies and for e-nose technology to be applicable, it will have to overcome these weaknesses. © 2025 IEEE.
