This paper proposes the development of a login system to a Healthcare Kiosk using facial images. The use of the face as an example of a unique biometric system other than fingerprint and iris is considered better than conventional systems using RFID cards that are prone to being lost or left behind, or passwords that are often forgotten. In this paper, we propose the use of faces as input for the login system to a healthcare kiosk by utilizing deep learning technology. We tested four types of Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) architectures such as VGG16, ResNet50, Xception and MobileNet. In the accuracy testing process, VGG16 got a total accuracy of 100% but still showed the wrong class during realtime detection testing, ResNet50 got a total accuracy of 99.531% and was able to show the correct class during realtime detection testing, Xception got a total accuracy of 80.018% but still shows the wrong class when testing realtime detection, and MobileNet gets a total accuracy of 92.934%. © 2022 IEEE.

Long Short-Term Memory and Gated Recurrent Unit-based networks are examined for short-term load forecasting for the Greek power system, where predictions of the next hour's load are made for the whole year. The recurrent property of the forecasters has the advantage to allow the use of a reduced input set since no prior knowledge of the most suitable previous loads is required for the model to identify the temporal relations that exist in the load time-series. An extensive simulation analysis is conducted, to evaluate the forecasters' performance and to highlight their particular learning characteristics. Both deep learning-based forecasters perform very efficiently, with LSTM achieving an average percentage error of 1.18% and a root mean squared error of 83.8 MW, while GRU performs similarly with respective values of 1.17% and 83.4 MW. © 2023 IEEE.

Image data is used in various fields, including the health sector. One of the image data in the health sector is an electrocardiogram (ECG). The ECG contains the identifying information of a person which must be guarded and secured. ECG image data security can be done by encrypting image data using encryption algorithms. The encryption algorithms used in this thesis are ECDH and AES-GCM. ECDH is used to generate key pairs which are then used as keys for AES-GCM encryption and decryption. The encryption and decryption process are carried out in the python programming language. The results of the encryption time and decryption time increase because of the dimensions and size of the ECG image file. The nonce value and authentication tag are checked to be able to perform the decryption process. The histogram test results prove the uniformity of pixels in the encrypted ECG image file. PSNR and SSIM test results prove the difference between the initial and encrypted ECG image files. The results of the NIST Statistical Test Suite test prove that the algorithm used produces random output so that it can be used to secure ECG image files. © 2022 IEEE.

Elliptic curve cryptosystem is a widely-used public key cryptosystem that is vulnerable to physical attacks, especially to Side Channel Analysis (SCA) attacks. This paper investigates a version of the atomic patterns kP algorithm for elliptic curves over prime finite fields. The atomic patterns for Elliptic Curve (EC) point doublings and additions are well-known countermeasures against simple SCA attacks. We implemented a binary left-to-right kP algorithm corresponding to the atomic patterns as proposed by Rondepierre and using the FLECC open-source cryptographic library. The library provides constant-time functions for the implementation of different mathematic operations in prime finite fields, making it suitable for SCA-aware implementations of cryptographic protocols, at a theoretical level. We were able to reveal the scalar k processed during a kP execution analyzing the measured electromagnetic trace of the kP execution. We determined at least two parts in the measured trace where the distinction between EC point doublings and EC point additions is good observable. © 2023 IEEE.

The development and progress of the means of transportation are needed for people to mobilize all activities However, currently conventional public transportation such as urban transportation has become less attractive to the public because of all the factors that cause people not to choose conventional transportation over online-based public transportation. The mechanism of the cost for urban transport is still not by with the passenger route using the city transportation service, for which a passenger record system is established to be able to determine the route of passenger location and the data of each passenger who wishes to ride to use the transportation services of the city, as well as the cost system travel passenger city transportation can be set and set according to the distance of travel from passengers. The system of passenger record method and system control of notification with device and application for public transportation payment consists of components such as Arduino to control and manage RFID RC522 system data to read RFID tag, Real Time Clock (RTC) DS1307 to activate the clock and dates in real-Time, Passive Infrared (PIR) module sensors to detect human presence and desktop applications for charging balances and website applications for databases. © 2022 IEEE.

In this paper, we evaluate the performance of a vehicular ad hoc network that enables Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) communication considering direct and indirect packet transmission. As a performance indicator, we use the blocking probability due to the unavailability of resources. For the blocking probability calculation, we utilize two loss models from the teletraffic theory. The results demonstrate that both the capacity of the V2X links and the number of hops in the multi-hop transmission significantly affect the blocking probability of a request for service and consequently the QoS. © 2024 IEEE.

The emergence of large-scale computing paradigms required the evolution of software development methods, moreover, the need to effectively transform traditionally sequential applications into parallelizable and scalable architectures. This transformation is key in harnessing the computing power of modern multicore and distributed systems. Python, with its vast ecosystem and simplicity, is becoming a powerful language that facilitates this transition. This article discusses the methodologies and development of a Python preprocessor tool aimed at converting sequential applications into forms suitable for large-scale computing environments. Through detailed analysis and implementation, we demonstrate the use of Spark functions and third-party libraries to automate this transition, making large-scale computing more accessible to a wider range of applications and developers. The tool includes a set of rules that identify different patterns of code input (for example, list-sequential looping) and transform consistent code. This article introduces a Python preprocessor designed to automate the transformation of sequential Python applications into ones that harness the power of large-scale computing environments. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper focuses on the effects of applying quantization during training to Recurrent Neural Networks (RNNs) used in Simplified Molecular-Input Line-Entry System (SMILES) generation, a form of line notation for molecular information used in the development of pharmaceutical drugs, from the PubChem database. It offers the flexibility to choose the precision used by the model, by defining the number of bits at each layer. The RNNs are the focus of the current study, by comparing the performance of three of the most used algorithms, Simple RNN, Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM), and Gated Recurrent Unit (GRU). The models were trained on a selection of SMILES. By exploiting the QK-eras library, quantization performance was compared to their floating-point equivalent for several combinations of parameters. The goal of the testing program developed is to generate a large number of novel SMILES, facilitating the process of Drug Discovery which is traditionally long, and thus very expensive and difficult. By understanding how the behavior of quantized networks deviates from the regular model, in relation to the parameters used, we are able to control the process of choosing whether to quantize a model and to which degree it becomes more or less efficient. In this study, we observed good performance even for 4-bit models making use of LSTM and GRU layers, the same way we concluded that Simple RNN quantization does not compensate the effort. © 2023 IEEE.

The growth of e-commerce has altered how consumers shop, providing a digital space where convenience, vast product offerings, and competitive pricing converge. In today's world, e-commerce websites are transitioning from traditional search-driven methods to customized and intuitive approaches via product suggestions. Product recommendation systems are vital in e-commerce, from bringing new business to retaining existing ones. Our three-part recommendation system is designed so that new users have a great and engaging experience as the Product Popularity -Based System shows them carefully chosen products that are in demand. Collaborative Filtering Recommendations are highly personalized recommendations given to people who have already made their first purchases based on their prior actions and preferences. The K-Means Clustering-Based Recommendation System uses textual clustering analysis to deliver contextually relevant recommendations. We use a variety of evaluation metrics, such as click-through rates, user engagement, and the Silhouette Score, to assess the effectiveness and accuracy of our recommendation systems. Our findings show significant increases in user engagement, conversion rates, and relevant recommendations. Our findings demonstrate the transformative power of well-designed recommendation systems, which improve user experiences and retention and provide invaluable solutions for businesses entering the e-commerce space. This paper provides an in-depth examination of the multifaceted landscape of e-commerce recommendations, shedding light on their far-reaching implications for customer acquisition and retention in this dynamic digital era. © 2024 IEEE.

A TOPOLOGICAL CHARACTERIZATION OF THE EXISTENCE OF w-STABLE SETS

The theory of optimal choice sets is a solution theory that has a long and well-established tradition in social choice and game theories. Some of important general solution concepts of choice problems when the set of best alternatives does not exist (this problem occurs when the preferences yielded by an economic process are cyclic) is the Stable Set (Von Neumann-Morgenstern set) and its variants (Generalized Stable set, Extended Stable set, m-Stable set and w-Stable set). The theory of w-stable sets solution is more realistic because: (1) It solves the existence problem of solution;(2) It expands the notions of maximal alternative set and (3) The concept of stability is defined in such a way as to prevent a chosen alternative from being dominated by another alternative and sets this stability within the solution. In this paper, we present a topological characterization of the existence of w-Stable sets solution of arbitrary binary relations over non-finite sets of alternatives. Copyright © 2024, The Authors.
