New challenges are still there in the credit risk management in this context of the financial system, primarily because of the lack of good models for prognosis as well as low interpretability. To address this issue, this research brings together CatBoost, XGBoost, and LightGBM to improve the prospect of identifying high-risk borrowers. A minimal level of Explainable AI (XAI) is utilized to make confirmations that the model follows them and to build confidence in the outcome. Moreover, based on a difference to basic models, the obtained ROC-AUC score equals 0.9693, proving the feasibility of the proposed ensemble approach in questions of impact developing default risks. The end product is therefore a robust method with ensemble modeling and compliant with regulatory requirements in operational financial environments. © 2025 IEEE.

The exponential growth in online education has increased the demand for automated systems to ensure academic integrity during online examinations. A real-time proctoring system addresses this need by monitoring a student's eye gaze and head movements during an exam. This system leverages Dlib's pre-trained frontal face detector and 68-point facial landmark predictor to detect facial features and track the direction of eye movement and head position. By analyzing these metrics, the system can flag behaviors associated with potential cheating, such as looking away from the screen for extended periods. This paper discusses the design and implementation of the proctoring system, details the detection algorithms, and evaluates its effectiveness for real-time monitoring. © 2025 IEEE.

Fetal health care is one of the most crucial concerns in today's world. Evaluating fetal well-being has always been challenging. Proper development and monitoring of the fetus are indispensable for its growth and healthy life. Monitoring and diagnosing abnormalities at the right gestational age is very significant. There are remarkable technical advancements in fetal well-being evaluation, bridging the gap between prenatal medicine and Artificial intelligence. This study provides an intensive review of various modes of non-invasive data that can be used for fetal health monitoring and decision support. Also, existing studies on fetal health care that use deep learning techniques for diagnosis and monitoring are explored. Also, a generic framework designed for an Automated Fetal healthcare Monitoring system using AI approaches is presented. © 2024 IEEE.

Lexical resemblances among a group of languages indicate that the languages could be genetically related, i.e., they could have descended from a common ancestral language. However, such resemblances can arise by chance and, hence, need not always imply an underlying genetic relationship. Many tests of significance based on permutation of wordlists and word similarity measures appeared in the past to determine the statistical significance of such relationships. We demonstrate that although existing tests may work well for bilateral comparisons, i.e., on pairs of languages, they are either infeasible by design or are prone to yield false positives when applied to groups of languages or language families. To this end, inspired by molecular phylogenetics, we propose a likelihood ratio test to determine if given languages are related based on the proportion of invariant character sites in the aligned wordlists applied during tree inference. Further, we evaluate some language families and show that the proposed test solves the problem of false positives. Finally, we demonstrate that the test supports the existence of macro language families such as Nostratic and Macro-Mayan. © 2024 Association for Computational Linguistics.

Face recognition is a fast-growing technology that is widely used in forensics such as criminal identification, secure access, and prison *** contrasts from other classification issues in that there are normally a more number of classes in face recognition. Thus, the validation accuracy of the conventional subsystem face recognition is unsuitable. In order to overcome the problems that are likely to be encountered, the proposed method utilizes the Spider Monkey inspired Optimization (SMO) algorithm for face clustering and recognition. At first feature reduction is done by Advance Principal Component Analysis (APCA) which is a hybridization of PCA and linear discriminant analysis (LDA). After reducing the features, the selected features are grouped and faces are recognized by means of SMO algorithm. From the food search behavior of spider monkeys, SMO algorithm is developed. The performance of the proposed method is evaluated by means of sensitivity, specificity, and accuracy. Here the proposed method accomplishes 98.66% accuracy. Using the MATLAB platform, the recommended technique is implemented. © Bharati Vidyapeeth's Institute of computer Applications and Management 2024.

Agriculture has long been the backbone of the Indian economy, defining the country's social and cultural milieu. Some of the most common difficulties that farmers face includes selecting suitable crops for their area and utilizing the necessary fertilizers, which can lead to a drop in production. To address these challenges, precision agriculture is employed. Precision agriculture is a smart and modern farming methodology that uses IoT-based research to provide information on soil qualities, types of soil, and crop production statistics. This assists farmers in choosing the optimum crops to plant and provides fertilizer recommendations based on specific location characteristics, also predicting the likelihood of plant diseases. In this project, we introduce a recommendation system by applying machine learning models such as Support Vector Machine (SVM), Logistic Regression, Decision Tree, Random Forest, and Naïve Bayes on a crop dataset, which is entirely IoT-based. The system recommends the best crop for the location's particular parameters with the highest accuracy. The system achieved an accuracy of 99% for crop recommendation and 92% for plant disease prediction. This research utilizes soil nutrients and pH data as inputs to create a website that predicts the most suitable crops for a particular soil type and suggests appropriate fertilizers. Additionally, the system predicts plant diseases and provides information about the diseases, including suggested cures. Thousands of farmers will be able to access the system through a Flask-based web interface. © 2024 IEEE.

Energy harvesting devices are rapidly evolving to rival battery-backed technologies. Batteries have a shorter life- time and need maintenance compared to capacitors. Moreover, the usage of batteries comes with undeniable environmental costs. Distinct challenges have emerged such as performance enhancement, crash consistency of data, energy management, etc. To tackle these challenges we propose DynaCache: A checkpoint-aware reconfigurable cache for Intermittent powered computing systems. It is an intermittent computing architecture consisting of a reconfigurable L1 cache that dynamically trans- forms its write policy to strike a favorable trade-off between per- formance, data consistency, and forward progress of a program. Our proposal achieves a speedup in performance of 1.85x and 1.5x compared to non-volatile write-back cache and volatile write- through cache respectively. It also achieves a 99% reduction in dirty data compared to a volatile write-back cache guaranteeing a near absolute data consistency in a scenario of a power failure. © 2024 IEEE.

Daily lives have been made much easier with the invasion of IoT devices in many fields such as health care, education, smart homes, agriculture, etc. Nowadays these devices are prone to many cyber attacks that exist currently and require impregnable security. The most common attacks that happen on an IoT device are DoS and DDoS. The methodology considered in this research employs machine learning algorithms and PCA (Principal Component Analysis) to classify the type of DDoS and DoS attacks that occur on IoT devices. The research also includes the implementation of genetic algorithm in evolutionary feature selection to optimize the features used in the classification process. This research work employs six supervised machine-learning algorithms such as K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN), Decision Tree, Naive Bayes, Neural Network, Random Forest, and Boosted Tree, to classify the different types of attacks that may occur in the Internet of Things (IoT) devices and a comparative analysis on these algorithms are performed. © 2024 IEEE.

Starting rescue operations quickly after an earth-quake is the best way to save lives in such disasters. In the case of large-scale earthquakes, current post-earthquake response systems cannot determine which building or rescue route would save the most lives due to the lack of real-time data availability. Research gaps include a lack of automation in earthquake damage assessment of buildings, location identification, and estimation of the number of trapped people. To fill these gaps, this article proposed an innovative solution using advanced sensors and cloud services for post-earthquake rescue route planning systems. This system aims to improve rescue operations to save the maximum number of lives in the shortest time and minimize impacts by optimizing resource allocation and overall response efficiency. By filling the existing research gap, our system seeks to provide more responsive and effective solutions to post-earthquake emergencies. Tested in a simulated environment with 16 samples, our system successfully collects and processes data from IoT devices deployed in buildings, classifies structural damage, and estimates the number of people affected. Our approach significantly reduces the time required to initiate rescue operations by providing rescuers with optimized routes to disaster sites, which has potential implications for disaster management strategies. © 2024 IEEE.

Federated Learning (FL) is considered as a suitable paradigm for intelligent data analytics over Internet of Thing (IoT) devices. While the data-privacy preserving feature of FL is useful, the lack of data auditing abilities of the participating IoTs creates a potential attack surface. To this end, a potential attacker can perform data/model poisoning attacks on the FL. To protect from such attacks, a popular theoretically proven algorithm for FL namely, Krum [1] was proposed. From an implementation perspective, the Krum algorithm needs to be provided with apriori information such as the total number of attackers in each round, which is impractical. It is not feasible to know, in advance, which of the participating IoT clients are attackers. Furthermore, in the presence of mobile Parameter Server (PS) which stays in the WiFi coverage area consisting of stationary clients for an unknown time, the implementation of Krum algorithm in such practical setting is not investigated, to the best of our knowledge. With an aim to provide a practical implementation of a resilient FL framework, for the first time, this paper investigates the sensitivity of the attackers information towards the robustness offered by the Krum-based FL algorithm. The insights gained from the sensitivity analysis are used to develop a novel and Practical algorithm of Krum (PraaKrum) for FL for a WiFi network with mobile PS. The developed analysis is helpful in both understanding the key resilient characteristics offered by the Krum algorithm and providing the research community with a guideline towards the practical implementation of the attacker-resilient Krum-based FL algorithm in a mobile wireless setting. © 2024 IEEE.
