Internet of Things (IoT) has been rapidly growing over the past years. There have been many cybersecurity challenges faced by IoT-based smart cities in existing work for the energy, health and transportation sectors. These cybersecurity challenges are crucial to remove in the IoT sector to implement a safe and secure IoT based smart city. Vulnerabilities across layers in IoT are analyzed and a multi-layered model of security is proposed to enhance data integrity and communication security by using AI, blockchain and ML. This paper would also present several policy recommendations to stakeholders and IoT developers for building a safe urban IoT ecosystem. © 2025 IEEE.

Braille script serves as a fundamental medium of communication for individuals with visual impairments. However, its interpretation by non-experts poses a significant challenge, hindering inclusivity in education and daily interactions. This study proposes a system that leverages Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) and the Google Text-to-Speech (GTTS) library to translate Braille text into multilingual speech. This research addresses the challenge of Braille literacy among visually impaired individuals by developing a system that translates Braille text into multilingual speech. The proposed solution utilizes advanced CNNs for accurate Braille character recognition and integrates GTTS technology for real-time speech output. The results demonstrate a significant improvement in accessibility and communication for users, with an accuracy rate of 97.28% achieved using the AlexNet model." © 2025 IEEE.

This review explores recent advancements that are made in remote sensing, enabling detailed analysis of our ecosystem through high resolution and multispectral imaging. The recent advancements in remote sensing includes developments useful for generation of synthetic images using GAN such as StyleGAN3 and for estimation of carbon stocks in forest using OBIA. Ecotones like mangroves and saltmarsh are crucial for carbon sequestration but mapping them accurately was challenging due to spectral similarity and seasonal variations. Focusing on coastal protection by this review examines the mapping methodologies such as random forest classification, OBIA and FID for habitat distinction, canopy area assessment and analysis. Through these technologies data accuracy can be enhanced for better monitoring. This review concludes with a discussion of AI-powered image synthesis and classification. © 2025 IEEE.

Task-oriented dialogue (TOD) system is designed to accomplish user-defined tasks through dialogues. The TOD system has progressed towards end-to-end modeling by leveraging pre-trained large language models. Fine-tuning the pre-trained language models using only supervised learning leads to the exposure bias and token loss problem and it deviates the models from completing the user's task. To address these issues, we propose a TOD system that leverages a unified pre-trained language model, GPT-2, as a base model. It is optimized using supervised learning and offline reinforcement learning (RL). The issues in the TOD system are mitigated using a non-differentiable reward function. The reward is calculated using the weighted sum of the success rate and BLEU evaluation metrics. The success rate and BLEU metrics in reward calculation guide the language model for user task completion while ensuring a coherent and fluent response. Our model is acquired by fine-tuning a pre-trained model on the dialogue-session level which comprises user utterance, belief state, system act, and system response. Experimental results on MultiWOZ2.1 demonstrate that our model increases the inform rate by 1.60% and the success rate by 3.17% compared to the baseline. © 2024 IEEE.

As people age, the frequency and impact of falls among the elderly continue to escalate, presenting significant health and mobility risks. Efficient detection and immediate response are crucial in reducing the severity of injuries and potentially life-threatening complications associated with such falls. This research study introduces a real-time alert system for the elderly by utlilizing the cutting-edge capabilities of YOLO v8, the latest iteration in the You Only Look Once series of models known for its high speed and accuracy in object detection tasks. The system is designed to operate with inputs from a variety of sources, including direct video feeds, RTSP streams from existing CCTV infrastructure, static images, and data from wearable sensors. This multi-source approach ensures that the system is adaptable for use in a wide range of environments, from personal residences to care facilities, providing continuous monitoring with enhanced accuracy. Upon the detection of a fall, the system immediately activates an alert protocol via Amazon Web Services (AWS) Simple Notification Service (SNS), ensuring that caregivers or family members are promptly notified to respond swiftly to the incident. This data-driven approach not only enhances the accuracy and responsiveness of the system over time but also aids caregivers and healthcare providers in understanding fall patterns and potential risk factors associated with specific environments or individuals, effectively addressing the critical challenges in elderly fall prevention and care. © 2024 IEEE.

Rapid growth of Internet of Things(IoT) technology has resulted an extraordinary surge in number of interconnected devices, raising significant concerns regarding security and privacy. Group key management plays a crucial role in securing communication among IoT devices within a network. In this paper, a novel approach to group key management is proposed leveraging blockchain technology to address the challenges of scalability, decentralization, and trust in IoT environments. Our solution employs blockchain as a distributed ledger to securely store and manage group keys, ensuring transparency, integrity, and resilience against attacks. We present a detailed architecture and protocol for group key generation, distribution, and revocation using smart contracts on the blockchain. Furthermore, we evaluate performance and security of our approach through simulation and analysis, demonstrating its effectiveness in providing secure and efficient key management for IoT devices. This research advances IoT security, providing a foundation for creating IoT ecosystems that are resilient and trustworthy. © 2024 IEEE.

The complexity of contemporary communication further emphasizes the need to automate monotonous work to increase efficiency and effectiveness. This paper introduces a new advance, voice-controlled Automail AI, in the form of an email generation tool that automatically sends an email according to end-user-specified keywords. Automail AI utilizes NLP, ML, and Speech Recognition to differentiate formal emails from informal ones and draft appropriate responses as the situation demands. It has been tuned with Naive Bayes Classifier that yields a better level of accuracy as compared to models such as Decision Tree, SVM, and Logistic Regression. Setting the benchmark for Automated Communication tools, Automail AI combines diverse technologies like SMTP to guarantee secure Email delivery, Google Text-to-Speech or GTTS for auditory feedback, and a module providing an interface for speech recognition that offers the possibility to use the tool with no hands. © 2025 IEEE.

Internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles are very polluting and release high nitrogen oxides, carcinogens, and soot into the environment. ICE vehicles are the best choice in this era, but replacing ICE vehicles with electric vehicles (EVs) and automated vehicle control is a potential transition process. The most important turning point in the history of the automobile occurred with the entry of EVs into the vehicle market. The rise of the Internet of Things (IoT) paradigm in electric vehicles (EVs) has changed the way we look at large-scale transportation by making it intelligent and more sustainable. Recently, with the advent of connectivity through IoT platforms, IoT in EVs has improved performance and reduced environmental impact: from any on-off switch and adoption of IoT through our smartphones placed on the charging base. We can implement smart charging solutions for better energy consumption management, reduction of grid load, and battery life enhancement. IoT allows electric vehicles to communicate directly with charging stations and even the power grid, providing a better way to create balanced transportation networks. But implementing IoT in electric vehicles also raises some issues, including data security and user privacy. With all of these issues, there is huge potential in IoT usage with electric vehicles to help produce cleaner transportation and create a more sustainable future. © 2024 IEEE.

Medicinal plants have been important in India's traditional healthcare for centuries, but identifying them can be challenging due to the many different species. This project aims to create a real-time system that recognizes medicinal herb plants using Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN), a type of deep learning that works well for image recognition. The system will be trained on a dataset of herb plant images, using techniques like resizing and data augmentation to improve performance. By doing this, the model will learn to spot even small differences between plant species. We will evaluate the system's effectiveness through accuracy, precision, and recall metrics to ensure reliable identification. By making it easier to identify medicinal plants, this project could help preserve traditional Indian herbal knowledge and encourage the use of these herbs in modern healthcare. In the future, the system will also incorporate real-time prediction capabilities, allowing users to identify herb plants instantly in their natural environments. Additionally, the system could be expanded to include more plant species, contributing to the protection and conservation of medicinal plant biodiversity. © 2025 IEEE.

Kidney stones are a common and impactful urological condition, with timely and accurate diagnosis being critical to prevent complications such as renal damage and avoid invasive treatments. This study explores the use of advanced deep learning models, including Vision Transformers (ViT), Swin Transformer and Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) - specifically XResNet-50, VGG-16, MobileNetV2 and AlexNet - to enhance kidney stone detection from CT scan images. Leveraging a robust dataset of annotated CT scans in JPG format, the approach employs transfer learning which leverages features learnt from the ImageNet dataset to optimize model performance, focusing on classifying cases as either "Kidney Stone Present"or "Kidney Stone Absent". To further improve diagnostic reliability, the Grad-CAM (Gradient-weighted Class Activation Mapping) identifies and localizes kidney stones within CT images, enhancing understanding of the model's decision-making and supporting interpretability. Addressing challenges related to dataset imbalance, model interpretability, and generalizability across healthcare settings. By refining these models for kidney stone detection, the main objective of this work is to build a reliable diagnostic tool that aids in clinical judgement and treatment planning, ultimately enhancing patient outcomes and encouraging broader clinical adoption. © 2025 IEEE.
