This study investigates the performance of traditional Machine Learning (ML) models for Sentiment Analysis (SA) in the Turkish language, addressing the growing need for robust Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques in low-resource languages. We compare the efficacy of Logistic Regression (LR), Support Vector Machine (SVM), Random Forest (RF), and Naive Bayes (NB) classifiers on two recently developed large-scale Turkish sentiment datasets: "Vitamins and Supplements Customer Review" (VSCR) and "Turkish Sentiment Analysis version 1" (TRSAv1). Our research leverages advanced hyperparameter tuning techniques to optimize these models, providing benchmarks and practical insights for Turkish SA. The study contributes to the field by establishing performance baselines on new open-source datasets, enhancing understanding of NLP models for agglutinative languages, and analyzing factors affecting classifier performance in binary and multi-class scenarios. Our findings reveal the strengths and limitations of each model within the context of Turkish language SA, offering valuable guidance for future research and applications in this domain. © 2024 IEEE.

This innovative practice full paper describes a new software framework based on JU nit to test student work. Automated testing is an important capability when teaching software development at the college level. Ideally, a testing system will allow the instructor to efficiently create a thorough set of tests. Also, the software should facilitate grading tasks and produce informative reports that can be distributed to the students in a timely fashion. For Java development, the well-known JUnit framework enables a test suite to be applied to a student's submission. The mutools library presented here extends the JUnit framework in novel ways to accelerate the instructor's task of creating test suites. This new framework allows the instructor to augment tests with directives to control scoring and reporting. The four main capabilities of the software include: 1) An assert statement that does not terminate the test when it has failed. Instead, statistics are maintained regarding the success or failure of each assert statement. 2) Tests that can be configured to award partial credit. This can be useful in situations where the instructor deems it appropriate to award students some credit even in the presence of incorrect asserts. 3) Tests that can be grouped into categories that match a particular rubric item. Java annotations are placed on the test suite to define these categories. For example, @TestCategory(name= 'remove', points=10.0) specifies that 10 points will be awarded for successful implementation of all tests related to removing an item from the collection class. 4) Testing reports that contain varying levels of information. With minimal details, the testing report shows each testing category with the following information: assert statistics, whether the test timed out or had abnormal termination. Countless software programs are created daily, leading to a parallel increase in software bugs. Each institution typically maintains a dedicated quality assurance team tasked with ensuring the integrity of their developed products. However, the sheer volume of bug reports received on a daily basis presents a formidable challenge for these teams to manually address each issue. The primary aim of this research is to streamline the process of bug classification and mitigate redundancy within reported bug data. To achieve this goal, the authors explored the utilization of dif erent classification algorithms, specifically SGD, based on the issue summary of each bug. The approach involves categorizing bugs into two main groups: major and minor. Additionally, a redundancy removal process was implemented to preprocess the data, flagging sentences that exhibit significant similarity above a predetermined threshold as duplicates. The results of the study demonstrate promising outcomes, with classification accuracies of 75.93% (Feature Classification) and 90.02% (Redundancy detection) achieved using SGD classifier, which gave us the best accuracy. © 2025 IEEE.

Searchable Encryption(SE)enables data owners to search remotely stored ciphertexts selectively.A practical model that is closest to real life should be able to handle search queries with multiple keywords and multiple data owners/users,and even return the top-k most relevant search results when *** refer to a model that satisfies all of the conditions a 3-multi ranked search ***,SE schemes that have been proposed to date use fully trusted trapdoor generation centers,and several methods assume a secure connection between the data users and a trapdoor generation *** is,they assume the trapdoor generation center is the only entity that can learn the information regarding queried keywords,but it will never attempt to use it in any other manner than that requested,which is impractical in real *** this study,to enhance the security,we propose a new 3-multi ranked SE scheme that satisfies all conditions without these security *** proposed scheme uses randomized keywords to protect the interested keywords of users from both outside adversaries and the honest-but-curious trapdoor generation center,thereby preventing attackers from determining whether two different queries include the same ***,we develop a method for managing multiple encrypted keywords from every data owner,each encrypted with a different *** evaluation demonstrates that,despite the trade-off overhead that results from the weaker security assumption,the proposed scheme achieves reasonable performance compared to extant schemes,which implies that our scheme is practical and closest to real life.

Suitable and Style-Consistent Multi-Texture Recommendation for Cartoon Illustrations

Texture plays an important role in cartoon illustrations to display object materials and enrich visual experiences. Unfortunately, manually designing and drawing an appropriate texture is not easy even for proficient artists, let alone novice or amateur people. While there exist tons of textures on the Internet, it is not easy to pick an appropriate one using traditional text-based search engines. Although several texture pickers have been proposed, they still require the users to browse the textures by themselves, which is still labor-intensive and time-consuming. In this article, an automatic texture recommendation system is proposed for recommending multiple textures to replace a set of user-specified regions in a cartoon illustration with visually pleasant look. Two measurements, the suitability measurement and the style-consistency measurement, are proposed to make sure that the recommended textures are suitable for cartoon illustration and at the same time mutually consistent in style. The suitability is measured based on the synthesizability, cartoonity, and region fitness of textures. The style-consistency is predicted using a learning-based solution since it is subjective to judge whether two textures are consistent in style. An optimization problem is formulated and solved via the genetic algorithm. Recently, Flaky Tests have gotten the attention of the research community. These tests not only waste time and resources, but also undermine the reliability of the automated tests and hence the software systems are affected. So, the detection of Flaky Tests is very important and has a wide audience from both industry and academia. In addition, the research work is very promising having a great potential for the contribution that maps to a true value added to the up-to-date industry projects. Although lots of effort has been done to detect Flakiness in the software systems, the majority of the existed works focuses on different techniques in isolation. The aim of the work in this paper is to overlook the existed flakiness detection techniques, try to analyze them, and hold a comparison, indicating the proper context for each one. Most of the existed flakiness detection techniques are done on unit tests and library/technical projects. According to the comparative study among these techniques, it is found gaps and wide potential for contribution. On the other hand, flakiness detection techniques can be clustered under three main headers;First, study the phenomena under different testing levels by trying to focus on projects with integration, system, and end-toend tests. Second, study the phenomena under different Project types and data sets by studying business projects with user interfaces and mobile applications and so on. Third, study the phenomena toward a faster delivery cycle by studying flake tests in the context of parallel execution and Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD). We can conclude that not all detection techniques have the same potential where some techniques are very competent while others still struggle to achieve considerable efficiency. © 2024 IEEE.

Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a slowly progressive neurodegenerative disease, which necessitates early and accurate diagnosis for effective management. This research presents a comprehensive approach to the classification of Alzheimer's disease using Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scans, focusing on four distinct classes: nondemented, mild, very mild, and moderate demented. Our main goals are to combine diverse datasets to improve the robustness and adaptability of the model and to fully investigate Alzheimer's disease in all four stages. To achieve these goals, we employed a combination of machine learning and deep learning models. The models utilized include Histogram of Oriented Gradients (HOG) with Support Vector Machine (SVM), Gabor filters with SVM, Gabor-Gray Level Co-occurrence Matrix (GLCM) with SVM, ResNet50, AlexNet, and InceptionV3. Among these, the InceptionV3 model achieved the highest accuracy of 96.20% using 5-fold cross-validation followed the Resnet50 model achieving accuracy of 95.43%. Our approach addresses key challenges such as class imbalance, high intra-class variation, inter-class similarities, and dataset variability, demonstrating significant potential in improving Alzheimer's disease classification and detection. © 2024 IEEE.

Modern vehicles are equipped with a large number of electronic control units (ECUs) to provide more convenient and safe services for drivers. These ECUs are required to share the various control data for driving using the CAN (Controller Area Network) protocol that is one of the communication protocols for in-vehicle networks. Recently, as vehicles become capable of real-time, two-way communication with various elements on the road, modern vehicles faces a wide range of security issues. The in-vehicle networks are already suffered from the cyber-attacks exploiting newly exposed security vulnerabilities. However, it cannot guarantee the safety and security of the vehicles from as the CAN is designed without considering security. Therefore, this paper proposes a machine learning-based cyber-attack detection system (CADS) in CAN to ensure driving safety. This CADS learns the data pattern of the CAN frames generated while the driving and is able to distinguish between regular messages and cyber-attack messages. The performance of the fully trained detection model of the CADS is evaluated using a vast number of testing dataset. The results show that our CADS in terms of accuracy, precision, recall, and F1 score has 100% of the detection rate for regular messages, replay attacks, brute-force attacks except for modification messages. © 2023 IEEE.

Selecting an appropriate site for solar power plants is a critical long-term investment decision to maximize solar energy generation while minimizing investment and operational costs and ensuring environmental sustainability. While solar irradiance has traditionally been the primary factor in site selection, accounting for disaster risk assessment is becoming increasingly crucial, particularly in countries prone to natural disasters. Hawkes Bay, New Zealand, holds great promise as a region with high solar potential. Yet, it is susceptible to natural disasters like earthquakes, landslides, and floods. This research aims to identify the most suitable solar farm location in Hawkes Bay by integrating estimated solar energy production with disaster risk assessment. The study employs a two-stages multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) approach, combining data envelopment analysis (DEA) and the analytical hierarchy process (AHP), alongside the utilization of geographical information system (GIS) technology. The finding, among 15 candidate locations, the area in a 5 km radius of Te Haroto weather station has the most potential for solar PV farms. 82 % of the location has low disaster risk, and only 7% of the area is considered high risk. © 2023 IEEE.

AI-generated content impersonating human writing is an issue that has gained attention as AI spreads its wings. This particular study serves as a comparison between the existing Logistic Regression and Feedforward Neural Networks (FNNs) by employing sentence-BERT-appended models and RoBERTa in the determination of authenticity in a given text. A dataset that was balanced between human-written and AI-generated texts was utilized. Techniques like tokenization and normalization were first used, followed by feature extraction using transformer-based models. Cross-validation and confusion matrix analysis that used measures such as accuracy, precision, recall, F1 score, and ROC AUC were included to guarantee the models' robustness. The hybrid RoBERTa-FNN model that was deposed challengers was the most outstanding model in respect of precision and recall, and the highest accuracy (99.95%) was obtained as mentioned in the data. The improved performance serves as a proof of how effectively RoBERTa uses its embeddings to represent context on the fine-grained level required for this kind of text classification. This work is a stepping stone to the creation of strong AI text detection systems, besides our advancements to the knowledge of models and embedding performance with respect to text classification. The results lay emphasis on the selection of model configuration and the embedding technique, as they are the key factors in achieving the best results in practical applications. © 2024 IEEE.
