The cloud computing technology is evolving constantly but essence remains the same that is to offer distinct cost saving opportunities by consolidating and restructuring information technology as a service. With the continuously increasing cloud provisions, cloud consumers start to have difficulties to find the best relevant services that suit their requirements. Therefore, selecting best services by cloud users is becoming a greater challenge. In this paper, we present a framework of services' recommendation system in a cloud environment, using automatic learning techniques. The system aims at finding the services that suit the interests and preferences of cloud consumers by combining content based and behaviour based recommendations. In this paper, we present, USTHBcloud, a cloud services recommendation prototype evaluated with an experimental study.

Background: The trend towards large-scale studies including population imaging poses new challenges in terms of quality control (QC). This is a particular issue when automatic processing tools such as image segmentation methods are employed to derive quantitative measures or biomarkers for further analyses. Manual inspection and visual QC of each segmentation result is not feasible at large scale. However, it is important to be able to automatically detect when a segmentation method fails in order to avoid inclusion of wrong measurements into subsequent analyses which could otherwise lead to incorrect conclusions. Methods: To overcome this challenge, we explore an approach for predicting segmentation quality based on Reverse Classification Accuracy, which enables us to discriminate between successful and failed segmentations on a per-cases basis. We validate this approach on a new, large-scale manually-annotated set of 4,800 cardiac magnetic resonance scans. We then apply our method to a large cohort of 7,250 cardiac MRI on which we have performed manual QC. Results: We report results used for predicting segmentation quality metrics including Dice Similarity Coefficient (DSC) and surface-distance measures. As initial validation, we present data for 400 scans demonstrating 99% accuracy for classifying low and high quality segmentations using the predicted DSC scores. As further validation we show high correlation between real and predicted scores and 95% classification accuracy on 4,800 scans for which manual segmentations were available. We mimic real-world application of the method on 7,250 cardiac MRI where we show good agreement between predicted quality metrics and manual visual QC scores. Conclusions: We show that RCA has the potential for accurate and fully automatic segmentation QC on a per-case basis in the context of large-scale population imaging as in the UK Biobank Imaging Study. In cloud-based VDI, users can access the virtual desktop service anytime and anywhere with the wide variety of terminals. The lightweight virtual desktop display protocol is required to support more users on the limited resources and to provide service to mobile users. In this paper, we design and implement the virtual desktop system using lightweight virtual desktop display protocol which would reduce the server load and network bandwidth consumption for increasing the number of virtual desktops per server and supporting the mobile users. The experimental results show that the implemented protocol reduces the network bandwidth consumption for virtual desktop transfer by up to 81% than previous protocol without compression and optimization.

To find best-matching cloud, customer should contact many cloud service provider portals. And Consumer's requirements are getting more complex and divers, at the same time, the service configuration are also more complex and needed to be customized for each customer to provide optimal service. To improve upper problems, we defined integration architecture of virtual appliance store and cloud service brokerage platform, and proposed virtual appliance store management method in the platform. This can improve the gaps between various customer's requirement and provider's limited service scope. And it can be used on prompt service deployment on dispersed and heterogeneous cloud service providers to accelerate time to market.

Integrated care has been increasingly advocated as an approach to promote better coordination of services and quality of care at different levels. In this study, views were elicited from different users of the healthcare system (patients, informal carers and healthcare professionals) in four European countries. The views pertained to current states of care and the role that remote patient monitoring and telehealth in general can play to facilitate effective implementation of integrated care. Overall, services were perceived to be fragmented at different levels ranging from personal to system fragmentation. Approaches such as telehealth, remote patient monitoring and having specialised urgent clinics in primary care were positively perceived by users as possible solutions for tackling fragmented care and for promoting better integration of services 1 .

This paper presents a complete approach for automatic detection and classification of pulmonary nodules through applying several techniques on chest CT images. The proposed approach starts by multi segmentation techniques followed by nodule extraction and then classification of the extracted features. The first step of is the preprocessing by converting the pixel values into Hounsfield units, and then applying a region growing technique to isolate the human body from other items. After that, the lung segmentation process takes place, which initially starts by thresholding the image followed by Hessian method for vascular tree segmentation. The application of multi segmentation methods allowed the precise extraction of the nodule features, which facilitate the classification. After this stage, several classifiers with their combination had been applied to perform the classification of malignant nodule and benign. The combination of these classifiers are used to evaluate and then enhance the classification accuracy of malignant nodule and benign. CT study of 200 patients, each with 150 to 500 images, is used to evaluate the proposed technique. The results are promising and achieved 98% classification accuracy.

The scientific objective of this paper is to describe an innovative architecture of modular form in sensing and supervision system. In our study, a maintenance work at ATLAS detector in Large Hadron Collider at European Organization for Nuclear research (CERN), Geneva, Switzerland has been considered. The research challenges lie in the development of real-time data-transmission, instantaneous analysis of data coming from different inputs, local intelligences in low power embedded system, interaction with augmented reality in multiple on-site users, complex interfaces, and portability. The proposed architecture is allocated with modular form. The prototype of this modular device is named a PSS (Personnel Supervision System) module. The hardware of the modular system includes with many sensor modules, cameras, IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit) sensors, processors, Wi-Fi module, laser, LED light plus its associated software. The mobile PSS module is responsible for local data processing for various sensors, image processing, 3D pose estimation, audio data acquisition, visualization and wireless interfaced devices. The advantage of modular concept is that it can work independently or together. The Head Mounted Display (HMD) includes HW and SW to communicate the augmented reality content to the user and to display visual information on a worker's field of view (FOV). The module serves as a supervision post, providing sensor data, video and audio stream to the supervisor. It stores data and provide the means for the supervisor to easily communicate and instruct the worker. It decides, selects and serves the AR (Augmented) content on multiple PTUs, automatically or with minor supervisor intervention. The development of this system to be compatible with a wearable use in a highly challenging environment presents an excellent opportunity to integrate today's leading technical knowledge in a product which can become accessible to industry and general public. Industrial cloud service platform launched a series of industrial services based on cloud computing for middle and small-sized enterprises. These services include CAD, CAE and other software services utilized on industrial design and manufacturing. Due to integrating various application systems, an efficient authentication technology was urgent required to realize the exchange and sharing of the identity information in the platform. Based on analysis and compare of various mainstream Single Sign-On (SSO) technologies, this paper proposed an SSO solution by using Central Authentication Service (CAS) protocol. Proposed system makes it easy and convenient to deal with login authentication and gain identity information of the whole platform. Cooling systems play a vital role in the design and operation of Data Centers (DCs), as they consume a considerable amount of energy. Hot air infiltration from the servers' outlets into their inlets, which creates hot spots and flow short-circuiting, is one of the main sources of thermal inefficiency inside air-cooled DCs. This inefficiency increases the total energy consumption of DCs especially when the allocated workload and heat dissipation of the servers are increased. Therefore, efficient thermal management of DCs is considered as one of the main challenges of the DC industry. In order to highlight the importance of this inefficiency, an operational DC has been considered in this study. The thermal behaviour of the DC has been evaluated by conducting a numerical analysis of the flow and temperature fields based on the experimental measurements in a real DC. Numerical simulation highlighted a number of undesirable hot spots near the racks. Cold aisle containment, which is one of the efficient and industrially affordable methods of thermal inefficiency reduction, has been considered. The effectiveness of this method has been evaluated using three non-dimensional metrics known as Supply Heat Index (SHI), Rack Cooling Index (RCI) and the Coefficient of Performance (COP) of the cooling system. In this case study, by applying the proposed method, SHI, RCI and COP of the cooling system have been improved by more than 0.45, 17% and 19.5%, respectively. These results demonstrate the effectiveness of cold aisle containment for energy efficiency enhancement of DCs. © 2014 IEEE.
