Through the use of combined deep learning and anomaly detection approaches, this research investigates the area of cybersecurity threat detection. The study proves the framework's extraordinary success in recognizing as well as mitigating diverse cyber dangers, including insider threats and zero-day attacks, through practical testing and case studies. The framework establishes itself as a proactive cybersecurity solution adaptive to the changing threat landscape due to its high accuracy of 95%, low amount of false positives 5%, and quick reaction times. The recommendations cover user training, scalability, regulatory compliance, including cross-disciplinary collaboration. Behavioral analysis, AI explainability, IoT security, and countering quantum computing concerns should be the main areas of future research. These revelations help the cybersecurity industry become more resilient and well-prepared. In this research investigation, experiments on threat detection were conducted using deep learning algorithms, with a specific focus on Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) and Recurrent Neural Networks (RNNs). The findings of the study reveal that a detection accuracy of 93% was achieved by CNN, while a higher accuracy of 96% in threat detection was exhibited by RNN. © 2024 IEEE.

The primary objective of this research paper is to explore the historical trajectory of restaurants, analyze the current trends shaping the industry, and delve into the potential of chatbot integration to overcome existing challenges. Chatbots can play a pivotal role in enhancing the performance of businesses as per the research done. An integrated Dialog Flow application has been proposed, incorporating Rule-based grammar matching and M.L matching algorithms. Workplace injuries are a critical concern, with millions occurring annually, leading to substantial human and economic costs. This study focuses on a qualitative analysis based on statistics from 2013 to 2017, with a specific emphasis on fatal and non-fatal workplace accidents within the European Union (EU) and Romania. The primary objective is to assess Romania's workplace safety status in the context of the EU and to propose strategic measures for improvement. To achieve this goal, four key indicators and statistical datasets are utilized, sourced from the National Institute of Statistics (NIS) of Romania, the Eurostat database of the European Commission, and the Romanian Labor Inspection. These indicators include the rate of incidence frequency index for occupational accidents, the average duration index, the frequency index for fatal accidents, and the severity index, enabling a comprehensive evaluation of accident frequency and severity. The rate of incidence, measuring injuries per 100,000 workers, is a pivotal indicator. Additionally, the study calculates the frequency index of non-fatal accidents (injuries per 1,000 employees) and the fatal accident frequency index (injuries per 1,000 workers). Statistical findings are rigorously validated through ANOVA analysis and T-tests. Following data evaluation, the study offers strategic recommendations informed by national and European strategies, including the National Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Strategy for 2017-2020 and the "EU Strategic Framework on Health and Safety at Work"spanning 2014 to 2020. Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) are highly implemented in harsh and dynamic environments. In such configurations, faults and anomalies easily occur, causing unwanted disruptions in data accuracy and network performance. In the context of reliability and stability in WSN operations, effective fault detection techniques are vital. This research work discusses how several machine learning models may be applied, including Logistic Regression, Decision Tree, Random Forest, and K-Nearest Neighbors in order to detect fault in WSNs. The performance evaluation was performed based on major criteria, which are accuracy, precision, recall, and Fl score. This, therefore, makes these approaches to machine learning effective in identifying faults efficiently, hence offering a well-balanced solution that is scalable and robust for integrity and operational effectiveness of WSN s. © 2024 IEEE.

Recognition of Bengali sign language characters is crucial for facilitating communication for the deaf and hard-of-hearing population in Bengali-speaking regions, which encompass approximately 430 million people worldwide. Despite the significant number of individuals requiring this support, research on Bengali sign language character recognition remains underdeveloped. This article presents a novel approach to categorize Bengali sign language characters using the Ishara-Lipi dataset, based on convolutional neural networks (CNNs) and pretrained models. We evaluated our approach using metrics such as accuracy, precision, recall, F1-score, and confusion matrices. Our findings indicate that the CNN model achieved the highest performance with an accuracy of 98%, followed by VGG19 with 94% and ResNet variants achieving around 88%. The proposed model demonstrates robust and efficient classification capabilities, significantly bridging the gap in existing literature. This study holds substantial promise for enhancing assistive technology, thereby improving social inclusion and quality of life for Bengalispeaking deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals. © 2024 IEEE.

In the era of rapid advancements in technology, the efficient digitization of paper-based documents remains a crucial challenge across various domains. The traditional approach to document scanning often struggles with accurate extraction of critical information from unstructured or diverse document formats. This paper presents the development of a web-based document scanner application that leverages Named Entity Recognition (NER) to extract entities from scanned business cards efficiently. The study aims to address the challenge of digitizing and organizing physical documents, with a focus on precise entity extraction. The methodology involves creating a custom dataset of scanned business cards, preprocessing the data, and training an NER model using machine learning techniques. The application is built using the Flask framework and integrates OpenCV for text extraction and SpaCy for NER. The key findings include the model's high F1 score in identifying entities such as names, organizations, designations, emails, and contact details. The application streamlines document digitization by automatically extracting and tagging relevant metadata, minimizing the need for manual data entry. This research contributes to enhancing document management and demonstrates broader applicability for other document types apart from business cards. The implications highlight improvements in workflow automation, data accuracy, and the potential for integrating with larger document management systems. © 2024 IEEE.

Lay summarization aims to generate summaries of technical articles for non-experts, enabling easy comprehension for a general audience. The technical language used in research often hinders effective communication of scientific knowledge, making it difficult for non-experts to understand. Automatic lay summarization can enhance access to scientific literature, promoting interdisciplinary knowledge sharing and public understanding. This has become especially important for biomedical articles, given the current global need for clear medical information. Large Language Models (LLMs) (Yao et al., 2024), with their remarkable language understanding capabilities, are ideal for abstractive summarization, helping to make complex information accessible to the public. This paper details our submissions to the BioLaySumm 2024 Shared Task: Lay Summarization of Biomedical Research Articles (Goldsack et al., 2024). We fine-tune and evaluate sequence-to-sequence models like T5 across various training dataset settings and optimization methods such as LoRA (Hu et al., 2021b) for lay summarization. In the rapidly evolving field of nuclei segmentation, there is an increasing trend towards developing a universal segmentation model capable of delivering top-tier results across diverse datasets. While achieving this is the ultimate goal, we argue that such a model should also outperform dataset-specific specialized models. To this end, we propose a task-specific feature sensitive U-Net model, that sets a baseline standard in segmentation of nuclei in histopathological images. We meticulously select and optimize the underlying U-Net3+ model, using adaptive feature selection to capture both short- and long-range dependencies. Max blur pooling is included to achieve scale and position invariance, while DropBlock is utilized to mitigate overfitting by selectively obscuring feature map regions. Additionally, a Guided Filter Block is employed to delineate fine-grained details in nuclei structures. Furthermore, we apply various data augmentation techniques, along with stain normalization, to reduce inconsistencies and thus resulting in significantly outperforming the state-of-the-art performance and paving the way for precise nuclear segmentation essential for cancer diagnosis and possible treatment strategies. © 2024 CC-BY 4.0, B.R. Affective state plays a key role in emotion recognition, influencing various applications from mental health evaluation to human-machine interaction. These states can be described using two primary aspects: valence, which indicates the pleasantness of the speech, and arousal, which relates to the intensity of the emotion. This study aims to automate the prediction of valence and arousal values from speech data, addressing the limitations of manual annotation and human error. The IIITSAINT-EMOMDB dataset, created from Malayalam films, uses the Circumplex Model of Affect to map emotions such as happy, sad, angry, and calm. The approach leverages machine learning models, including Support Vector Regression (SVR), Artificial Neural Networks (ANN), and Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN), for prediction. Experimental results demonstrate that the traditional models like SVR and ANN are outperformed by the CNN model, which achieved a mean squared error (MSE) of 0.3 for valence and 0.1 for arousal. These findings highlight the power of automated emotion recognition in large-scale audio datasets, offering promising applications in affective computing and psychological analysis. © 2024 IEEE.

Many approaches have been proposed for the problems, like manual diagnosis of crops and soil by experts. But this one is actually a very time-consuming activity. With the advancement of technology, many approaches have been made using machine learning, like image processing techniques, deep convolutional neural networks, segmentation techniques based on neutrosophic logic, etc. However, most of these methods were slow or had implemented complex algorithms that made them unsuitable for being used as an Android app. So, in this paper, a rice leaf disease detection and classification model using region-based convolutional neural networks and deep learning has been proposed. Using this approach, we have successfully developed a model to detect and classify diseases with an accuracy of 94.4%. Determining the type of disease in crops may help the farmers take timely measures and, therefore, avoid the loss. © 2024 IEEE.
