A large number of establishments and organizations implement clouds to store their databases. More active attacks are used on clouds to get unauthorized access or to do harmful actions that may affect on user's privacy. Therefore, many studies have proposed to increase the level of security in the clouds depended on several strategies. The behavior is one of the promising strategies that might prevent unauthorized or processes. In this paper, a set of features, are from several previous studies, and these features are based on the user activity and events in a special purpose cloud by which unauthorized process can be prevented and alert user about bad actions during his/her work in the cloud environment. The results of comparison show that the event-based features require less resources and time. Thus, they need to be enhanced by adding more informative features, or some available features form other strategies. © 2022 IEEE.

In the elaboration work of research documents, which is an essential component of proceeding with research activities, it is important to sufficiently understand the elaboration contexts (e.g., the deliverables and the work history) so that they can be used in later work. However, the number of documents involved can become enormous, and work histories are inevitably complicated when research activities continue for a long period of time. Therefore, it becomes increasingly difficult to grasp the elaboration contexts. In our research, we aim to support the understanding of work circumstances by generating an elaboration context graph that organizes the contexts of elaboration work of research documents. In this paper, we mainly describe a method for graph summarization to enable easy understanding of the elaboration context graph, which can become quite large with long-term research activities. We also describe a case study in which we generated and summarized an elaboration context graph using actual history data, and discuss the effectiveness of the proposed methods on the basis of the results. ©2024 IEEE.

To present a clear and effective presentation, it is crucial to carefully refine presentation slides and the portions which a presenter emphasizes on the slides. There is also a significant impact on the audience’s comprehension due to factors such as the amount of text, presence of figures and tables, and their layout on the slide. Although slide refinement should consider audience reactions during presentation rehearsals, it is often difficult for a presenter to sufficiently grasp such reactions. This research aims to develop a system for supporting presentation-slide refinement by taking into account the matching status between the emphasis of a presenter and attention of the audience. For this paper, we propose methods for extracting the emphasis of a presenter on the basis of the analysis of the structural features of slides and extracting the attention of the audience on the basis of gaze analysis. We also describe the visualization of their matching status along with snapshots of a prototype of our support system and the accuracy and characteristics of the proposed methods on the basis of the results of experiments on extracting the emphasis of a presenter and attention of the audience using our prototype. ©2024 IEEE.

In response to the growing demand for developing programming skills, opportunities for providing programming exercises have been increasing at educational institutions such as universities. Instructors must be attentive to learners' progress and situations to provide effective support. However, there are limits to supporting a large number of learners by a small number of instructors. Peer or group-based learning has been recognized as a promising approach to address these challenges, but most existing methods rely on static group formation based on pre-exercise information. We developed methods for forming dynamic learning groups that leverage learners’ current situations for effective peer-assisted learning. This paper mainly describes the dynamic formation of learner groups taking into account multiple factors such as whether learners are struggling and the similarity between source codes. We also describe the experiments on forming learner groups and discuss the basic effectiveness of the proposed methods on the basis of the experimental results. ©2024 IEEE.

In recent years, there have been increasing opportunities for discussion and exchange of opinions on the internet. In order to clearly understand such discussions, users should be able to fully understand the flow of discussion as well as the conclusions. It is especially important to understand the main points as well as the trends in people's opinions in order to have more than a superficial understanding of the discussion. However, it is often difficult to understand them as the number of comments increases over time and the discussions become complex. In this research, we aim to develop methods for visualizing discussions in comments on online news articles to understand opinion trends and discussion points. This paper describes the methods for generating summaries of discussions and presents an overview of the support system. We also discuss the features of the proposed methods through the results of experiments using a prototype system for visualizing discussions. © 2023 IEEE.

Opportunities for programming education have been increasing, and enrichment of guidance is needed. To provide precise guidance in programming exercises, instructors need to successfully grasp learners' impasses. However, this is difficult in exercises at universities since few instructors need to deal with many learners. In this research, we focus on the characteristic traces left by a learner repeatedly writing and erasing source code in a program (exploratory traces). Our goal is to develop methods for automatically estimating students stumbling in construction of program logic on the basis of the analysis of exploratory traces. This paper mainly describes the methods for analyzing exploratory traces along with examples. We also describe experiments applying our methods to actual programming and discuss their effectiveness on the basis of their results. © 2023 IEEE.

Forests are an essential part of the environment which plays a vital role in sustaining ecological balance and providing habitat to different wildlife. Wildfires are one of the serious threats to forests which create a devastating impact on the natural ecosystem. Early identification of smoke and wildfires will help to reduce damage and support a quick reaction. Earlier, wildfire and smoke detection in forests were very difficult due to the challenging forest terrain, low light conditions, and difficult weather conditions. With the development in technology, several computer vision methods are combined with satellite and Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) data to correctly identify wildfires, but accuracy is still a concern with these models. This paper introduced a novel method to detect wildfire and smoke in forests utilizing fine-tuned YOLOv11n using an aerial vehicle dataset. The mAP of the fine-tuned YOLOv11n is 88.6%, with a precision of 100% and an F1-score of 85%. The number of parameters has decreased by 30% compared to its previous models, and the model size is only 5.5MB.
