Deep Learning refers to a subset of Machine Learning that utilizes deep neural networks to simulate the complex decision-making process of the human brain. In recent years, DL has made remarkable progress in addressing multiple unique challenges faced by most elderly individuals. While there have been significant contributions to independent systems catered for the elderly, there is the existence of an overall integrated AI platform that unifies the use of individual modules for an optimized solution. This paper introduces 'WellBe,' an innovative AI system that encompasses an alarm-based fall detection component, a facial emotion recognition (FER) system and a built-in personalized chatbot all under a user-friendly website. The novelty of the work extends beyond the aforementioned components, owing to the implementation of an optimized FER system able to handle wrinkles and changes in skin texture, thereby tailored exclusively for the elderly demographic. The system leverages a custom feature extraction module, fusing facial and wrinkle features, in addition to extending a convolutional neural network (CNN) architecture for accurate emotion classification, achieving promising performance with precision, recall, and F1-scores of 0.87, 0.91, and 0.89 for the 'Happy' (one of the predicted emotions) class, respectively. The fall detection component, on the other hand, utilizes a pre-trained YOLOv7 Pose model for the real-time identification of falls, sitting at a performance accuracy of 95.3%. Finally, the personalized chatbot is implemented using a rule-based approach enhanced with the Jaccard similarity algorithm, to facilitate prompt assistance and a sense of companionship to the end user. Overall, the integration of these components into a cohesive website offers a comprehensive solution for enhancing the quality of life for elderly individuals living alone, addressing loneliness, safety, and overall well-being. © 2024 IEEE.

Capturing market sentiments and supporting well-informed financial decision-making depend on the developing field of Financial Sentiment Analysis (FSA). Natural language processing (NLP) has made significant strides in comprehending and categorizing sentiment in intricate financial texts, especially with the use of Large Language Models (LLMs). The application of various LLMs, such as Bidirectional Encoder Representations form Transformers(BERT) and Financial BERT (FinBERT), as well as distilled models, such as DistilBERT and DistilRoBERTa, on a variety of financial datasets, including Financial Phrase Bank and LexisNexis news articles, was the main focus of this review article. highlighting different approaches such as model fine-tuning, zero-shot and few-shot learning, and prompt engineering. The study focuses on practical model predictions through a case study of sentimental analysis of cryptocurrencies. While FinBERT, a financial variant of BERT, exhibits high accuracy and robustness, other LLMs exhibit varying degrees of success based on the dataset and domain requirements. The analysis concentrates on the difficulties, compromises, and potential paths for improving LLMs for financial sentiment analysis. © 2025 IEEE.

In this study, we investigate the efficacy of incorporating custom local binary patterns (LBP) as a preprocessing technique to enhance the performance of Siamese neural networks for face matching tasks. Our research focuses on training Siamese models using the DC Face dataset and comparing their performance when trained with and without LBP integration. The custom LBP function is designed to capture fine-grained texture details from facial images, providing robust feature representations that are invariant to variations in lighting conditions and facial expressions. Through rigorous experimentation and evaluation, we analyze the impact of LBP on the threshold point for image differentiation and compare the matching accuracy of Siamese models trained with and without LBP. Our findings reveal significant improvements in matching accuracy and robustness when utilizing the texture features extracted by the custom LBP function. By encoding local pixel structures and capturing subtle facial characteristics, LBP-enhanced Siamese models demonstrate enhanced performance in accurately matching faces across different images. Further-more, our study highlights the importance of using domain-specific preprocessing techniques, such as LBP, to optimize the capabilities of Siamese neural networks for face matching tasks. The results underscore the effectiveness of customizing feature extraction methods to suit the characteristics of the dataset, leading to improved matching accuracy and robustness. Overall, our research contributes valuable insights into the role of LBP in enhancing the performance of Siamese neural networks for image-based similarity tasks, with implications for various real-world applications in face recognition and biometric authentication. © 2024 IEEE.

In today's world, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning are transforming many industries, but they rely on huge amounts of data leading to privacy issues. A better alternative is Federated learning. Fine-tuning large language models (LLMs) for domain specific tasks is often an expensive resource intensive procedure requiring large computing and memory resources. In this paper, We introduce finetuned-leetcode-CodeLlama-7b, a version of CodeLlama that was fine tuned for solving LeetCode problems, specifically. Using QLoRA (Quantized Low Rank Adaptation) techniques, we show that smaller models achieve high performance when solving Data Structure and Algorithm (DSA) problems, providing a cost effective alternative to larger models. The proposed incremental approach reduces memory and computational needs, keeping high accuracy while providing advanced problem-solving in resource constrained environments. © 2025 IEEE.

Tremendous amount of meteorological data is being generated on a daily basis from a number of sources such as weather stations, balloons, satellites, sensors etc. Timely weather prediction helps people plan everyday life events. Long Short Term Memory (LSTM) networks perform extremely well for capturing dependencies in time series datasets. Number of neurons in hidden layer highly impacts the performance of the LSTM network. The hit and Trial method for selecting the neurons consumes a lot of time and resources and might not lead to a global optimum solution. In this research work, two techniques, i.e. Genetic Algorithm optimized LSTM (LSTM-GA) and Artificial Bee Colony optimized LSTM (LSTM-ABC) have been proposed and implemented to automate the selection of the hidden layer's neurons for improved weather prediction. Proposed techniques have been implemented using DeepLearning4j library making the techniques scalable on clusters of machines. For evaluating the performance of proposed techniques, 15 years Brazil's weather dataset has been used. The experimental results proved that the proposed LSTM-GA and LSTM-ABC techniques have the reduced MAE value of 0.0074 and 0.0075 respectively while the LSTM network without any optimization has a relatively higher MAE value of 0.0086. © 2024 IEEE.

We propose a novel method for reconstructing explicit parameterized surfaces from Signed Distance Fields (SDFs), a widely used implicit neural representation (INR) for 3D surfaces. While traditional reconstruction methods like Marching Cubes extract discrete meshes that lose the continuous and differentiable properties of INRs, our approach iteratively contracts a parameterized initial sphere to conform to the target SDF shape, preserving differentiability and surface parameterization throughout. This enables downstream applications such as texture mapping, geometry processing, animation, and finite element analysis. Evaluated on the typical geometric shapes and parts of the ABC dataset, our method achieves competitive reconstruction quality, maintaining smoothness and differentiability crucial for advanced computer graphics and geometric deep learning applications. © 2024 IEEE.

Moreover, the rising cyber threats, regulatory compliance requirements, and the possibility for unauthorized access bring out the critical importance of robust data protection mechanisms in the cloud *** paper presents a comprehensive survey of strategies for data protection and identity protection in the context of cloud based systems. It examines encryption techniques, access control mechanisms, identity management solutions, among other approaches, highlighting their strengths, limitations, and applicability in different cloud deployment models and use cases. Container orchestration systems, such as Kuber-netes, often rely on manual resource allocation to manage re-sources, which can be inefficient and inflexible due to the frequent over-provisioning or underprovisioning of resources. Kubernetes horizontal pod autoscaler (HPA), vertical pod autoscaler (VPA), and Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) Autopilot are primarily threshold-based, making them reactive rather than proactive as they adjust resources after exceeding utilization thresholds, leading to temporary degradation in quality of service (QoS). While some solutions utilize calls per minute (CPM) counts for requests to microservices to estimate resource consumption dynamically, they do not fully exploit distributed traces or associated microservices' interdependencies. We hypothesize that we can gain deeper insights into future workload patterns by exploiting microservices' interaction and the CPM counts for each pair of communicating microservices. In this paper, we propose a comprehensive machine learning workflow to assess whether factoring in the interdependencies between microservices results in improved workload prediction. Our findings indicate that an LSTM model performs well, with average mean absolute error (MAE) and root mean square error (RMSE) values of 7.02 and 10.54, respectively. The highest R2 score observed was 0.07. This suggests that although incorporating distributed traces and inter-microservice CPM counts provides valuable insights, the models fail to capture the full complexity of workload dynamics. These results highlight the potential for enhancing workload prediction accuracy and underscore the need to refine these methods further to achieve more proactive and efficient resource allocation in container orchestration systems. © 2024 IEEE.
