In general, cardiac arrest results in an inability to pump enough blood for the body's needs. Through this, the organs and tissues get enough oxygen and nutrients for their metabolic needs, and excess fluid accumulates. This further increases the severity of the patient's problems. Cardiac arrest is the leading cause of hospitalization in people over 65 and is therefore considered a significant public health problem. It is a pathology linked to an increase in average life expectancy, and its incidence is increasing every year due to the general ageing of the population. In this paper, an earlier serial lactate determination analysis of cardiac arrest patients using a medical machine learning algorithm. It can occur following an episode of cardiac arrest or inadequate treatment of chronic diseases, including diabetes and hypertension. Adopting lifestyle habits that prevent the onset of these conditions is an essential strategy for preventing heart failure. The proposed approach has achieved 91.58% accuracy, 87.96% precision, 84.62% recall, and 85.23% F1-score results compared to other methods. © 2023 IEEE.

This study addresses the challenge of sentiment analysis in Bengali Facebook comments, where users express their opinions on various topics. Existing sentiment analysis techniques have difficulty achieving high accuracy in this situation, which has inspired the creation of a fresh methodology. To improve sentiment analysis of Bengali Facebook comments, we suggest a model that combines a hybrid convolutional neural network (CNN) and a long short-term memory network (LSTM). Our research adds to the expanding area of sentiment analysis, especially for languages with few resources, such as Bengali. The success of the Hybrid CNN LSTM model opens the door for more precise and context-aware sentiment analysis on social media platforms, allowing for a better understanding of user sentiments and boosting user experiences. Our study focused on dividing comments into five groups according to their emotional content: troll, not bully, sexual, religious, and threat. We carefully generated the handmade dataset and ensured the quality and relevance of a dataset of 50,000 Bengali comments before using it to train and test our algorithm. The Hybrid CNN LSTM model outperforms conventional approaches and achieves an outstanding accuracy rate of 92.09%, demonstrating amazing efficiency in sentiment recognition. This dramatic increase in precision indicates that machine learning techniques are successful in sentiment analysis of Bengali Facebook comments. © 2024 IEEE.

The main efficiency limiting factors for homogeneous emitter solar cells are resistance loss through metal contact on the front side and recombination loss at the surface. Herein, a selective emitter technology is introduced to solve the above problem, and it is currently commercialized in the mainstream p-PERC (Passivated Emitter Rear Contact) solar cell. The selective emitter boosts efficiency by 0.3-0.4% when compared to a homogeneous emitter, and when applied to the n-TOPCon (Tunnel Oxide Passivated Contact) solar cell, high efficiency of 26% or higher may be predicted. The most widely utilized selective emitter technologies are laser and etch-back. The One-Step Technology, which is suited to the n-TOPCon solar cell process, a laser is suitable for mass manufacturing with high yield. Because selective emitters increase electrical characteristics, which impact cell efficiency, it is required to study and create a technology that is optimal for the n-TOPCon manufacturing process. © 2022 Korean Institute of Electrical Engineers. In this paper, a progressive DCT-based coder (PDCTC), which implements a lossy image compression algorithm based on discrete cosine transform (DCT) and provides progressive data reconstruction, is introduced. It is compared to JPEG as well as to discrete atomic compression (DAC) that is an algorithm based on discrete atomic transform (DAT). It is shown that the algorithm proposed provides higher compression ratio (CR) than JPEG with the same quality loss measured by PSNR-metric. Also, it is proved that PDCTC and DAC have almost the same efficiency in terms of rate/distortion curve (dependence of PSNR and compression ratio). Besides, the complexity of these algorithms is analyzed. © 2022 IEEE.

Nowadays, one of the biggest issues in urban areas is traffic. This problem wastes important time and contributes to air and sound pollution. This affects people's general quality of life in addition to posing health dangers. Our study attempts to mitigate these problems, effectively cutting down on wait times and delays. Our Reinforcement Learning method creates intelligent agents that can adjust traffic lights at crossings instantly. Our objective is to minimize delays, reduce congestion, reduce travel times, improve safety, and improve traffic flow. We implemented the Deep Q Learning algorithm which activities yield the greatest benefits under various traffic scenarios. Our model can the sequence time since the Green signal (GS) lasts 10 seconds and the Red signal (RS) lasts 5 seconds. The waiting period is shortened by 50% as a result. This study suggests reinforcement learning may improve traffic signal controller synchronization and urban traffic congestion. This novel method may improve transport efficiency and sustainability. © 2024 IEEE.

With the increasing development of deepfake in facial editing and the easy accessibility of image and video content on the internet, the security risks of spreading false personal information through social media platforms are becoming increasingly serious. The harm caused by deepfake includes spreading false information, pornography, financial fraud, privacy breaches, and security system damage. To address these security issues, it is necessary to strengthen the detection and defense of deepfake. Current research mainly focuses on the detection of deepfake images and videos. In recent years, some work has proposed using the method of generating adversarial samples to deal with the malicious operations of GAN networks in deepfake. And it has proposed different single perturbation fusion methods to generate universal adversarial watermarks that can defend against modifications by multiple models. However, all of these works generate single-step watermarks using gradient-based methods, which cannot accurately control the required perturbation strength, resulting in large errors and more irrelevant information compared to the original image after superimposing the watermark. To solve this problem, we propose an optimized adversarial face deepfake watermark and measure the protection success rate and defense performance of this method on single and multiple models. From the extensive experimental results, we find that the perturbation generated by the Optimization-based method can successfully generate smaller perturbations while ensuring a high protection success rate, making the adversarial samples closer to the original samples. It can also be applied to different types of models and loss functions, accurately generating perturbation strength, and has a wider range of applicability.

Cognitive Frailty (CF) is a prevalent condition among older individuals, combining physical frailty with cognitive impairment, with an increased risk of adverse health outcomes. However, the current diagnostic processes for CF are often hospital-based and not feasible for all patients, leading to a gap in timely and efficient diagnosis. To address this problem, a Point-of-Care (POC) system is proposed by utilizing Lab-on-a-Chip (LOC) technology and Tiny Machine Learning (TinyML) capabilities on Android devices for autonomous blood and urine sample collection and real-time CF assessment. In this paper, the feature selection technique for ML-based CF classification is also proposed by using several statistical test methods to improve the accuracy of the ML model. The results demonstrate significant improvements in the accuracy of CF classification through advanced machine learning models, achieving over 70% accuracy in key models such as Linear Discriminant Analysis (LDA), Gaussian Naive Bayes (GNB), and Support Vector Machines (SVM). This innovative system enhances accessibility and efficiency in diagnosing CF, benefiting older individuals in remote or resource-limited environments.

Two main factors that limiting the efficiency of the p-type solar cells are LID(Light Induced Degradation) and LeTID(Light and elevated temperature induced degradation). The major cause of LID is the formation of boron-oxygen defects in boron doped silicon. The LeTID is similar kinds as LID, but also occurs in the dark condition and by the recombination of metals and impurities or the reaction between the hydrogen and arbitrary substance. An overall 7% of LeTID degradation rate occurs over long-term scales. Unexpectedly, these degradations have been recently found to also arises in high purity materials such as float-zone(Fz-Si) and Czochralski-grown(Cz-Si). The proposed method to reduce these two degradations is to use appropriate firing process and annealing conditions. © 2021 Korean Institute of Electrical Engineers. All rights reserved.
