Curriculum changes have a significant impact on the field of education in Indonesia, especially in universities. This is because the curriculum is used as a means to achieve the goals of educational success as well as guidelines in the implementation of teaching at every level of education. This study aims to determine public sentiment regarding the implementation curriculum of independent learning (MBKM) through Twitter based on Naïve Bayes with Laplace Estimator. Tweet search results use the keywords “kurikulum mbkm” and “mbkm”. The data used in this study amounted to 2500 tweet data which will be divided into 2000 data as training data with details of 1000 positive tweets and 1000 negative tweets and 500 data as testing data. The results showed the performance of Naïve Bayes using Laplace Estimator which resulted in an accuracy value of 80.20%, precision value of 82.00%, and recall value of 79.00%. Meanwhile, the performance of Naïve Bayes without Laplace Estimator resulted in an accuracy value of 77.00%, precision value of 80.00%, and recall value of 74.00%. Naive Bayes with Laplace Estimator reached the highest value in all metrics.

Equipping the society with an evacuation route assistant is important as a preventive action in order to minimize anxiety as well as number of victims when disaster strike. Therefore, research on best route determination to the shelter is a noble task. Evacuation routes mean routes to pass in order to reach the gathering point or shelter safely. This study aims to implement the particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm in finding the optimal path to the designated shelter. PSO is a metaheuristic algorithm inspired by the behaviour of flocks of birds or fish to optimize the search for the best route. Taking into account the details of the PSO implementation, including initialization of the random particle position and velocity, selection of the best particle (Pbest) and Global Best (Gbest), and updating the speed and position of the particle using the specified formula. The objective function is recalculated based on the total distance of the particle route as well as the condition weight of the affected areas. The results showed that out of ten experiments with 100 iterations, six valid routes were found with the highest fitness value of 1,935, which indicates that PSO can provide optimal solutions in the context of finding flood evacuation routes.

High order modulation formats constitute the most prominent way for increasing spectral efficiency in transmission systems. Coherent transceivers that support such higher order formats require heavy digital signal processing (DSP), which increases the power consumption of coherent pluggables, well above the intensity modulation and direct detection (IM/DD) counterparts. Self-coherent or phase retrieval methods have emerged as potential solutions, trying to combine the merits of coherent technology with the simplicity of direct detection. In this work, we experimentally demonstrate the reception of quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) modulation formats based on direct detection aided by the recurrent optical spectrum slicing (ROSS) photonic accelerator, utilizing minimal DSP and low modulator driving voltages. We experimentally demonstrate 32 Gbaud QAM-4/16 for 25 km, 50 km and 75 km in the C-band aided by a linear digital equalization and the use of programmable photonics as recurrent optical spectrum slicers. We showcase successful detection with driving swings below Vπ/3 in contrast to the full swing required by conventional coherent transceivers. We further improve the system performance utilizing geometric constellation shaping. Finally, we explore the potential power consumption improvement for the next-generation 1.6T pluggables, showcasing over 40% reduction with respect to the most lightweight state of the art coherent solutions reported in literature. © 2025, CC BY.

During the pandemic, we must maintain our body’s immunity at best. Outdoor activities have been closed; therefore, there are limitations to activities that can be done. A solution to staying healthy during the pandemic is indoor exercise. One type of indoor exercise is regularly riding stationary bikes. We maintain the body’s fitness and burn calories by riding stationary bikes. However, some stationary bikes could not show accurate calories burned; they calculated it only based on speed, resistance, and duration, so people with different weights seem to burn the same amount of calories. Therefore, this paper proposed an additional parameter essential in calorie burning: body weight. We used the human body pose estimator to detect the activity of riding the stationary bike and calculated it by adding the person’s weight. The result shows a difference between the estimated calorie burned and the data directly from the stationary bike. The difference is between 0.0225 to 2.8775. The heavier the person, the more differences in the calories burned. The proposed method helped prove that a person’s weight affects the calories burned while doing an activity, especially riding a stationary bike.

Modeling and calibrating the fidelity of synthetic data is paramount in shaping the future of safe and reliable self-driving technology by offering a cost-effective and scalable alternative to real-world data collection. We focus on its role in safety-critical applications, introducing four types of instance-level fidelity that go beyond mere visual input characteristics. The aim is to ensure that applying testing on synthetic data can reveal real-world safety issues, and the absence of safety-critical issues when testing under synthetic data can provide a strong safety guarantee in real-world behavior. We suggest an optimization method to refine the synthetic data generator, reducing fidelity gaps identified by deep learning components. Experiments show this tuning enhances the correlation between safety-critical errors in synthetic and real data.

This paper introduces a novel design approach for the realization of wideband bandpass filters (BPFs). The technique is based on a conventional filter topology consisting of shunt short-circuited stubs connected by transmission lines where its λ g /4 interconnecting lines and its λ g /4 short-circuited stubs are replaced by a building block consisting of λ g /8 lines separated by λ g /8 short-circuited coupled-line sections. Guidelines on the design formulas through ABCD analysis in practical filter implementations are provided. Additionally, the manuscript presents a design example and its practical validation through the manufacturing and testing of a fourth-order microstrip-type BPF.

EXTENSION OF ZORN'S LEMMA TO ARBITRARY BINARY RELATIONS

In 1935, Max Zorn introduced Zorn's lemma with the intention of shortening proofs in algebra that had previously used the Axiom of Choice or the Well-Ordering theorem. However, there are several applications in optimization, economics, decision analysis, and game theory where a binary relation is not transitive as required by Zorn's lemma. For example, a choice process in social choice theory is formally modeled as a maximization problem. More specifically, a choice process is presented by a choice function that associates with each feasible set of alternatives a certain subset of it, which consists of the maximal elements according to the viewpoint of a binary relation. However, the set of maximal elements is often empty. In this case, the crucial question which arises is what to count as a choice. That is, what sets of alternatives may be considered as reasonable solutions? To answer this question, a number of theories, called general solution theories, have been proposed to take over the role of maximality in the absence of maximal elements. Zorn's lemma cannot be applied to solve these problems because binary relations are not transitive. In this note, the Zorn lemma is extended to arbitrary binary relations and thus the Zorn lemma can do for optimization when the transitivity is broken. Zorn's extended lemma can be used to prove existence theorems of generalized solution concepts for binary relations that do not have maximal elements. Copyright © 2022, The Authors. This study explores user experiences and challenges in mobile wallet adoption in emerging markets using the UTAUT model. These markets face rapid technological growth alongside infrastructural and economic challenges. The research examines how factors like performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, and facilitating conditions influence adoption. Data from 80 mobile wallet users was collected through an online survey and analyzed using SmartPLS 4.1.0.6. The results show that performance and effort expectancy predict behavioral intention, while facilitating conditions affect actual usage. The study highlights the role of infrastructure in supporting adoption and validates the UTAUT model's relevance in less developed regions. These findings provide insights into enhancing financial inclusion in emerging markets.

We demonstrate that large multimodal language models differ substantially from humans in the distribution of coreferential expressions in a visual storytelling task. We introduce a number of metrics to quantify the characteristics of coreferential patterns in both human- and machine-written texts. Humans distribute coreferential expressions in a way that maintains consistency across texts and images, interleaving references to different entities in a highly varied way. Machines are less able to track mixed references, despite achieving perceived improvements in generation quality. © 2025, CC BY-NC-SA.
