The paper presents the results of the study of the process of porous materials impregnation from the point of view of percolation theory. Diffusion front, diffusion front shell, percolation cluster are determined using developed application. Processing of digital images obtained during the study of the porous object impregnation is used. This allowed obtaining the necessary quantitative characteristics of the diffusion front, percolation clusters and percolation shell. Quantitative characteristics were analyzed and kinetic curves of the impregnation process were constructed on the example of leather tanning process. As a result, the main stages of the impregnation process of the tanning composition: accumulation, percolation and distribution have been revealed. The methodology of the impregnation process study and the method of its visualization have been developed and applied to the processes of leather tanning. The universality of this development will allow applying them to the study processes in other porous materials, and in modeling and creation of new materials. © 2024 IEEE.

Neural Radiance Fields (NeRFs) are a novel approach that is being intensively investigated in 3D scene reconstruction and similar fields to overcome challenges of conventional methods. In this paper, we address the problem of estimating missing camera poses in a six degrees of freedom setting, pushing the capabilities of NeRFs to address scenarios where only the primary camera's pose is known. Specifically, we focus on dual-camera setups with this constraint. Our core contribution is a novel pose correction model that operates alongside an unmodified NeRF model, for which we have chosen Nerfacto in the Nerfstudio framework. The pose correction model learns the necessary relative translation and rotation adjustments for the secondary camera solely through the NeRF loss. This allows us to integrate our correction model directly into the Nerfacto training pipeline without altering the core functionality. Through extensive experiments on different camera configurations in a synthetic scene, we rigorously evaluate our model's performance across diverse scenarios, pushing it to its limits. Our findings reveal that our model can effectively learn pose correction parameters within a constrained range, with increased sensitivity to larger translations and particular challenges in rotation corrections. This research highlights the potential of NeRFs for machine learning-driven 3D reconstruction on dual- and multi-camera platforms, expanding the applicability of NeRFs to more complex, real-world setups despite the inherent challenges. Mild cognitive impairments (MCI) develop in adults due to the normal aging process and may sometimes progress to a more serious cognitive decline stage resulting in Dementia. If the cognitive decline is identified at the MCI stage, it can be delayed or prevented from progressing by different interventions. A typical indicator of cognitive impairments that might be caused due to an injury, aging, or other factors is found to be a decreased search efficiency in visual search tasks. Here we propose a model to assess this efficiency by designing a digitized, easy-to-use visual search task capable of incorporating multiple variables in the visual stimulus, affecting the search capabilities. The variables under consideration include the number of distracting elements, target size, target distance from the center of the stimulus area, and habituation effects. This designed stimulus is tested on participants from different age groups.

Runtime Verification is a software testing technique based on extracting and analyzing information from a system while it is running. The objective is to use this information to find faults or problems in the system under test. To achieve this, it is necessary that the insertion of testing logic does not modify the code being tested and that it does not affect the performance of the system. In this article, we present a runtime testing framework for JavaScript, which utilizes Aspect-Oriented Programming and regular expressions. This framework encapsulates the idea of Message Sequence Specification applied to Runtime Verification. Our work is freely available and open source.

The paper proposes to change the bit-dept. of the original data sequence as a preprocessing of the measuring data, which is carried out before the compression procedure. In this case the digit capacity conversion is performed without accounting for the primary data sample boundaries. The simulation was carried out in the Matlab software environment. The findings of the authors' research are presented. They prove to be a promising approach for some types of the studied data at least and several digit capacity values. The analysis of autocorrelation function values showing the data correlation revealed by the conversion is used as an assessment of perspective of the active conversion. In this article the authors review the values of secondary maximums of autocorrelation function. Their occurrence shows the demonstration of the implied correlative correspondence. Such correlations can potentially allow the converted data to be compressed more effectively than the original data using the known compression methods. © 2022 IEEE.

Mode decomposition algorithms have been used extensively to extract and separate signal components from composite signals which constitute the semantic information in it. The individual signal components also called modes should be independent of each other and have some sparsity properties such as having a limited bandwidth and should be compact around a center frequency. However, not all algorithms effectively segregate the constituents truthfully. Different algorithms perform differently for the same input signal. This work proposes a metric to quantify the performance of mode decomposition techniques by leveraging the analogy of having a compact central frequency in the decomposed modes. The proposed method is tested on the widely used mode decomposition algorithms. The results on simulated and real signals show the usefulness of the proposed metric in evaluating mode decomposition algorithms.

Management and maintenance of existing buildings remains a major problem due to the lack of existing three-dimensional (3D) models and accurate as-built representation. In this paper the authors propose to use 3D scanner technology to capture the as-built and existing conditions of the buildings combined with building information modeling (BIM) as the underlying technology, which is a 3D semantic representation of all the life cycle phases of a building. This paper presents the results from creating as-built BIM models of existing buildings, using point cloud (a set of points in 3D space) and machine learning as an intermediate medium. Machine learning methodologies are used to speed up the computation of segmentation and classification of point clouds from a 3D virtual indoor environment using procedural modeling, which focused on two attributes, point density and the level of random errors. In this paper we will present findings on the evaluation of the performance of machine learning segmentation and classification algorithm based on the comparison of ten different point cloud data sets. The paper suggests to apply a neuro-fuzzy controller in 5G heterogeneous networks in order to improve the handover process. The architecture of the controller as well as input and output variables have been elaborated. A rule base and mathematical models of the controller has been considered.
