Recurrent febrile seizures are a common concern in children, often triggered by rapid changes in body temperature during fever episodes. For rapid action and care, early and accurate seizure recurrence prediction is crucial. Limited techniques were developed for predicting the likelihood of a Recurrent Febrile Seizure using a Thermographic image. Several drawbacks were considered for recurrent febrile seizure prediction such as lower performance, high time consumption, and error rate. Hence, the proposed technique is introduced to provide an efficient Deep Learning (DL)-based technique. Initially, the data is gathered from datasets, and the Intra-Attentional Convolutional ResNet (InAtt-CRNet) with the Yolov5-Face model detects the face and reduces the processing time by tacking the face with a bounding box. The patient's forehead or nose temperature is monitored using the Region of Interest (ROI) finding approach following face detection and tracking in each frame. Then, the temperature is predicted using the Enhanced Convolutional Capsule Network (EC2Net). The body temperature, age, duration of fever, and family history are used to construct the clinical decision rule. The Twin-directional Gated Long Short-term memory (TdG-LSTM) is used to predict the likelihood of a subsequent febrile seizure. The proposed technique achieves 98.16% accuracy, 98.45% precision, 0.12 RMSE, and 29 seconds as processing time.

The problems of Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) in three-phase systems are less studied than single-phase or direct current, due to the smaller ratio of emissions relative to the rated power of such systems. This paper is focused on the problem of emissions in three-phase variable frequency drive systems in the low-frequency EMC range, specifically on the common mode current through the connected ground wire between the static converter and power grid. The common mode current is determined to be variable depending on switching frequency. For a deeper understanding Fast Fourier Transform was used to decompose the signal. Main parameter to understand the magnitude of common mode current was the RMS of the current. The decomposition showed a significant DC component which cannot be picked up by the used RF probe, thus presenting a noise offset necessary to be considered when calculating the total effective value of common mode current. The analysis was made on the time-domain representation and the frequency behavior of the converter. The paper suggests that the standard measurement in the low-frequency range and the picked-up signal are investigated enough, as there is a disparity in the impact of emissions in the low-frequency range compared to what off-the-shelf devices have to offer, which are standard compliant, but still present considerable emissions. © 2023 IEEE.

Cancer-related distress is the result of the psyche's reaction to the diagnosis given and to the various stressors in the development of the type of malignant disease. The spreading of the psychological distress and depression may change depending on the stage, gender, and age of the patient. Identifying gender-based distress is important for improving the work of health professionals. The results of the study of models of characteristic descriptors based on patients' sex evaluated distress by applying three methods of machine learning. This report evaluates the effectiveness of the metrics accuracy and classification error. It implemented validation of models of descriptors and the calculated correlation coefficients. The results obtained for the two metrics - accuracy and classification error - were high. © 2022 IEEE.

There has been a growing excitement that implicit graph generative models could be used to design or discover new molecules for medicine or material design. Because these molecules have not been discovered, they naturally lie in unexplored or scarcely supported regions of the distribution of known molecules. However, prior evaluation methods for implicit graph generative models have focused on validating statistics computed from the thick support (e.g., mean and variance of a graph property). Therefore, there is a mismatch between the goal of generating novel graphs and the evaluation methods. To address this evaluation gap, we design a novel evaluation method called Vertical Validation (VV) that systematically creates thin support regions during the train-test splitting procedure and then reweights generated samples so that they can be compared to the held-out test data. This procedure can be seen as a generalization of the standard train-test procedure except that the splits are dependent on sample features. We demonstrate that our method can be used to perform model selection if performance on thin support regions is the desired goal. As a side benefit, we also show that our approach can better detect overfitting as exemplified by memorization.

Cell Phones are becoming more refined with each new model release. These days phones ordinarily consolidate numerous sensors for various functions such as GPS tracking, temperature sensors, accelerometer, gyroscope, high-determination cameras. In recent years, Human Activity Recognition (HAR) has enabled various applications. The information gathered by HAR may be utilized for a number of reasons, including fitness tracking, health and safety, and entertainment, among others. An abundance of research has been conducted on real-time processing, which has resulted in increased power consumption of mobile devices. It is preferable that the activity identification process be as precise as possible, because of the resource limited feature of a mobile device. So, the research is to use the dataset from the smartphone and use various classification models to find out which classifieris more accurate and provides fasterresults. © 2022 IEEE.

SafeEmbodAI: a Safety Framework for Mobile Robots in Embodied AI Systems

Embodied AI systems, including AI-powered robots that autonomously interact with the physical world, stand to be significantly advanced by Large Language Models (LLMs), which enable robots to better understand complex language commands and perform advanced tasks with enhanced comprehension and adaptability, highlighting their potential to improve embodied AI capabilities. However, this advancement also introduces safety challenges, particularly in robotic navigation tasks. Improper safety management can lead to failures in complex environments and make the system vulnerable to malicious command injections, resulting in unsafe behaviours such as detours or collisions. To address these issues, we propose SafeEmbodAI, a safety framework for integrating mobile robots into embodied AI systems. SafeEmbodAI incorporates secure prompting, state management, and safety validation mechanisms to secure and assist LLMs in reasoning through multi-modal data and validating responses. We designed a metric to evaluate mission-oriented exploration, and evaluations in simulated environments demonstrate that our framework effectively mitigates threats from malicious commands and improves performance in various environment settings, ensuring the safety of embodied AI systems. Notably, In complex environments with mixed obstacles, our method demonstrates a significant performance increase of 267% compared to the baseline in attack scenarios, highlighting its robustness in challenging conditions. © 2024, CC BY.

Predicting customer purchase intent is crucial for modern businesses in order to improve engagement, refine marketing strategies, and increase revenue. Conventional rule-based systems encounter difficulties with dynamic and extensive customer data, limiting their flexibility and precision. This project employs a machine learning methodology utilizing logistic regression to forecast customer intent based on demographic, transactional, and behavioral data. The proposed model analyses input features including age, browsing history, and previous purchases, employing sophisticated data preprocessing methods such as One-Hot Encoding and feature scaling to guarantee data integrity. Through hyperparameter tuning and the assessment of critical metrics including accuracy, precision, recall, and Fl-score, the system provides dependable and actionable insights. Real-time predictive capabilities enable businesses to customize customer interactions, facilitating targeted marketing and enhancing customer experience. This project underscores the capacity of predictive analytics to tackle real-world issues, facilitating data-driven decision-making and sustainable business development.

Cross-modal Information Flow in Multimodal Large Language Models

The recent advancements in auto-regressive multimodal large language models (MLLMs) have demonstrated promising progress for vision-language tasks. While there exists a variety of studies investigating the processing of linguistic information within large language models, little is currently known about the inner working mechanism of MLLMs and how linguistic and visual information interact within these models. In this study, we aim to fill this gap by examining the information flow between different modalities—language and vision—in MLLMs, focusing on visual question answering. Specifically, given an image-question pair as input, we investigate where in the model and how the visual and linguistic information are combined to generate the final prediction. Conducting experiments with a series of models from the LLaVA series, we find that there are two distinct stages in the process of integration of the two modalities. In the lower layers, the model first transfers the more general visual features of the whole image into the representations of (linguistic) question tokens. In the middle layers, it once again transfers visual information about specific objects relevant to the question to the respective token positions of the question. Finally, in the higher layers, the resulting multimodal representation is propagated to the last position of the input sequence for the final prediction. Overall, our findings provide a new and comprehensive perspective on the spatial and functional aspects of image and language processing in the MLLMs, thereby facilitating future research into multimodal information localization and editing. In recent years, the application of radiofrequency identification technology in smart access control systems has become a trend. Users only need to take out the RFID electronic key and approach the sensor of the gate to open the gate through signal induction. For housewives who always have a lot of bags and bags in their hands, there is no need to free up one hand to find the key to open the door and avoid being in a hurry. However, it is relatively inconvenient for drivers. Instead, it is much more convenient to use wireless controllers or license plate recognition. This work explores advanced methodologies for encrypting images by utilizing one-dimensional Group Cellular Automata (1-D GCA) and S-Box techniques, with a focus on their pivotal role in ensuring the security of digital images. The proposed approach amalgamates Cellular Automata and S-Box mechanisms within a framework of symmetric-key cryptography to augment the strength of encryption. Through the generation of pseudorandom sequences using 1-D GCA and the utilization of S-Box for substitution, the method accomplishes efficient pixel diffusion and confusion. The assessment criteria demonstrate noteworthy enhancements: Number of Pixels Change Rate (NPCR) at 99.9864%, Unified Average Changing Intensity (UACI) at 33.6130%, Peak Signal-to-Noise Ratio (PSNR) at 9.2336 dB, and Mean Squared Error (MSE) at 0.1193. These findings underscore the robustness of the algorithm against statistical and differential attacks. The study justifies the promise of integrating GCA and S-Box strategies to reinforce cryptographic systems, proposing future avenues for enhancing computational efficiency and broadening applicability across diverse digital contexts.
