In this paper, design and implementation of a 2D graphics processing hardware unit using FPGA for educational purpose is presented. We propose a more simple & minimalist GPU architecture, which is flexible and easy to understand than existing industrial GPUs. We present a platform for understanding GPU architecture by implementing of graphics algorithms on FPGA for students to use this in laboratories. Students can be benefited from this work as it can be used as a base understanding tool in terms of GPU architecture. It can also be extended to be used in cross disciplinary applications like 3D rendering, computer vision and signal processing visualisation. This research includes descriptions of hardware realization of 2D rasterization rendering algorithms. Hardware Description Language (HDL) called verilog is utilized in designing the architecture. Xilinx Vivado Design Suite software is used for FPGA implementation, targeting Artix 7 FPGA board, which allows users to comprehend the fundamental ideas of hardware design and their applications in graphics rendering. © 2024 IEEE.

Any software that acts maliciously towards a user, device, or network is referred to as malware. Malware analysis consists of four fundamental processes that make use of a variety of technologies to comprehend operation and pinpoint areas for removal. In order to examine the behavior of the malware on the system, the second phase, known as Basic Dynamic analysis, is running the malware in a secure environment. Running malware in a Sandbox environment is a crucial step in the Basic Dynamic Analysis process. In order to determine which sandbox gives the greatest flexibility for running malware for research, this study will examine a variety of sandboxes. Based on the desired characteristics of a sandbox environment, a rubric was developed. Scalability, the capability to examine different file kinds, and the presence of sandbox detection evasion strategies are a few of the parameters taken into account. To do Basic Dynamic Analysis for malware analysis after examining some of the most well-known sandboxes, Norman Sandbox, GFI Sandbox, and Anubis. © 2023 IEEE.

The global incidence of ocular disorders, which impacts more than 2.2 billion people, requires innovative approaches to ensure early and accurate diagnosis. This paper explores the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in ophthal-mology, focusing on retinal diseases like cataracts, glaucoma, and diabetic retinopathy. The utilization of AI enables remote examinations and consultations, providing a crucial advantage in early disease detection. This study introduces a comparative analysis of state-of-the-art models, combining pre-trained convolutional neural networks (CNNs) and incorporating a channel-wise attention mechanism for enhanced discriminative ability. The proposed hybrid model, combining EfficientNetBO and Inception V3 with channel-wise attention mechanism, exhibits a remarkable accuracy of 98.13%, outperforming standalone models and other combinations. The findings underscore the efficacy of combined architectures and the integration of attention mechanisms in advancing the classification of retinal diseases. © 2024 IEEE.

Users send their requests to cloud service providers, who then deliver the services over networked systems. With a high volume of requests, it is crucial to schedule cloudlets effectively to ensure that most meet their specified deadlines for optimal performance. This paper focuses on calculating Both slack time and laxity time for cloudlets across all virtual machines and scheduling them accordingly. It also considers the rearrangement of cloudlets already assigned to virtual machines to accommodate new cloudlets. The CloudSim simulation environment is utilized to schedule cloudlets by evaluating their slack time and laxity time across various virtual machines. This approach helps in selecting the most suitable virtual machine for executing the cloudlets. By incorporating laxity time into the scheduling decisions, the system becomes more balanced, reduces makespan, and thus enhances overall performance. The proposed method has been shown to reduce task rejection by at least 10% and the makespan by an average of 17% when compared to the EFD algorithm. © 2024 IEEE.

Tuberculosis (TB) is a chronic lung disease that constitutes one of the top 10 global causes of death. Timely and precise identification of TB is critical, as untreated cases can pose life-threatening risks. Traditional radiographic interpretation by trained professionals is subjective, time-consuming, and prone to human error. This study proposes an automated deep learning-based approach for TB detection from chest X-ray images, based on EfficientNet-B0 architecture. The Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) extracts discriminative features, allowing it to differentiate between normal and abnormal lung patterns indicative of TB. Our choice of the EfficientNet-B0 architecture played a pivotal role in the success of our TB detection model. Training and evaluation were conducted on three distinct datasets: Tuberculosis (TB) Chest X-ray Database, Shenzhen Hospital CXR Set, and Montgomery County CXR Set. The key breakthrough is attaining an accuracy of 99.29% on the Tuberculosis (TB) Chest X-ray Database and 98.50% on the combined dataset. This study presents a promising approach for automated TB screening using readily available chest X-ray images, potentially improving diagnostic accuracy and efficiency, especially in resource-limited settings. We compared our scores with those of other works and found that ours significantly outperforms them. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper presents a novel autonomous navigation system for grapevine cultivation robots operating in overhead trellis vineyards, a challenging environment characterized by irregular grape cluster distribution and complex 3D structures. The system integrates two complementary navigation approaches: high-precision positioning under target grape bunches using YOLOv8-based object detection of QR codes, and large-scale vineyard navigation using global navigation satellite system (GNSS). Each QR code uniquely identifies a grape bunch and provides access to its associated cultivation data. Experimental evaluations in a simulated vineyard environment demonstrated an 83.3% success rate for object detection-based positioning beneath grape bunches and 90% accuracy for GNSS-based navigation within a 1.0 m radius of the target locations. These results validate the system's effectiveness in automating navigation tasks within overhead trellis vineyards, offering a promising solution to address labor shortages and improve the efficiency of grape cultivation practices. © 2025 IEEE.

Oral cancer is a significant global health concern, often leading to high mortality rates due to late-stage diagnosis and the lack of effective early detection methods. Despite advances in medical science, the absence of reliable early diagnostic tools remains a critical challenge. Hyperspectral imaging (HSI) has emerged as a powerful noninvasive technology, capturing detailed spectral information across a wide range of wavelengths. This allows for accurate differentiation between cancerous and healthy tissues, improving early detection and enhancing treatment outcomes. In this study, we propose the use of HSI for early oral cancer diagnosis. To address the scarcity of labeled data, we developed a synthetic hyperspectral dataset that includes spectral signatures of both normal and cancerous tissues. The dataset was generated using a bilinear mixing model, with key spectral features extracted through Vertex Component Analysis (VCA) and abundances computed using Non-Negative Least Squares (NNLS). The model's performance was evaluated using Spectral angle distance (SAD) and Root mean square error (RMSE) metrics. Our findings demonstrate that HSI significantly improves the accuracy of early oral cancer detection, outperforming traditional methods. This work highlights the potential of advanced imaging technologies in revolutionizing cancer diagnosis, offering a robust framework for non-invasive detection and showcasing the effectiveness of synthetic datasets in medical imaging research. © 2024 IEEE.

Workplace injuries are a critical concern, with millions occurring annually, leading to substantial human and economic costs. This study focuses on a qualitative analysis based on statistics from 2013 to 2017, with a specific emphasis on fatal and non-fatal workplace accidents within the European Union (EU) and Romania. The primary objective is to assess Romania's workplace safety status in the context of the EU and to propose strategic measures for improvement. To achieve this goal, four key indicators and statistical datasets are utilized, sourced from the National Institute of Statistics (NIS) of Romania, the Eurostat database of the European Commission, and the Romanian Labor Inspection. These indicators include the rate of incidence frequency index for occupational accidents, the average duration index, the frequency index for fatal accidents, and the severity index, enabling a comprehensive evaluation of accident frequency and severity. The rate of incidence, measuring injuries per 100,000 workers, is a pivotal indicator. Additionally, the study calculates the frequency index of non-fatal accidents (injuries per 1,000 employees) and the fatal accident frequency index (injuries per 1,000 workers). Statistical findings are rigorously validated through ANOVA analysis and T-tests. Following data evaluation, the study offers strategic recommendations informed by national and European strategies, including the National Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Strategy for 2017-2020 and the "EU Strategic Framework on Health and Safety at Work"spanning 2014 to 2020. Cloud computing enables on-demand computation on remote servers and computers. Thanks to the adaptability and scalability of the infrastructure for data storage, processing, and management. To solve the security problems arising in cloud identity management techniques such as, dependency on a third-party token provider, leakage of user's details, single point of failure, etc., decentralized cloud identity management systems came into the picture. Blockchain is a decentralized database providing immutability and transparency to recorded transaction data. The current token-based decentralized cloud identity management systems have limitations, including the absence of data access management procedures and a lack of security features. This paper suggests a Blockchain based Secure Cloud Identity and Access Management (BSCIAM) model for secure identity and access management, utilizing encryption and key sharing techniques. The proposed model has been implemented using Ethereum smart contracts for token-based identity management. © 2024 IEEE.
