In the dynamic landscape of online social networks, recognizing sensitive content is essential for safeguarding user privacy, fostering inclusivity, and enhancing diversity awareness. Building on prior research, this study explores new dimensions and methodologies for detecting sensitive content. We examine the temporal evolution of sensitive content, revealing how patterns shift over time, and address cross-linguistic challenges, emphasizing cultural and contextual nuances in detection. We employ advanced machine learning techniques, including deep learning models and BERT that improve the accuracy and robustness of the detection procedure. In the experimental study, BERT transformer reported the best performance in detecting sensitive content in text. Additionally, we incorporate explainability techniques such as LIME and SHAP to provide deeper insights into the model's decision-making processes, ensuring predictions are interpretable and reliable. Our work enhances the theoretical framework of sensitive content detection in social networks and provide methods that are accurate and scalable and can facilitate the creation of user-centric interaction that prioritize privacy and user experience.

The offshore wind energy is increasingly becoming an attractive source of energy due to having lower environmental impact. Effective operation and maintenance that ensures the maximum availability of the energy generation process using offshore facilities and minimal production cost are two key factors to improve the competitiveness of this energy source over other traditional sources of energy. Condition monitoring systems are widely used for health management of offshore wind farms to have improved operation and maintenance. Reliability of the wind farms are increasingly being evaluated to aid in the maintenance process and thereby to improve the availability of the farms. However, much of the reliability analysis is performed offline based on statistical data. In this article, we propose a drone-Assisted monitoring based method for online reliability evaluation of wind turbines. A blade system of a wind turbine is used as an illustrative example to demonstrate the proposed approach. © 2022 IEEE.

the design decisions made in the architecture of a software system are essential to its maintainability, and thus its quality is of great importance. Architecture smells (ASs) can be used to identify any quality issues within the system. To further explore the relationships between ASs, stability, and reusability, Spearman correlation coefficients will be calculated. This paper seeks to examine the connection between architecture smells, software stability, and reusability. To do this, we utilized a dataset created by other researchers and conducted an empirical study of the associations between five types of architecture smells and software stability and reusability. This research is necessary as there is a lack of in-dept. research on architecture smells and their relationship to software stability and reusability. We found a relationship between the presence of Feature Concentration in package and the stability and reusability of the package. Also, package's stability is affected by both Cyclic Dependency and Unstable Dependency. A slight positive correlation has been found between God Class and stability, as well as a very weak negative correlation between Unstable Dependency and reusability. Finally, we found a slight negative correlation between package stability and reusability. © 2024 IEEE.

Computing the edit distance of two strings is one of the most basic problems in computer science and combinatorial optimization. Tree edit distance is a natural generalization of edit distance in which the task is to compute a measure of dissimilarity between two (unweighted) rooted trees with node labels. Perhaps the most notable recent application of tree edit distance is in NoSQL big databases, such as MongoDB, where each row of the database is a JSON document represented as a labeled rooted tree and finding dissimilarity between two rows is a basic operation. Until recently, the fastest algorithm for tree edit distance ran in cubic time (Demaine, Mozes, Rossman, Weimann;TALG'10);however, Mao (FOCS'21) broke the cubic barrier for the tree edit distance problem using fast matrix *** a parameter k as an upper bound on the distance, an O(n+k2)-time algorithm for edit distance has been known since the 1980s due to works of Myers (Algorithmica'86) and Landau and Vishkin (JCSS'88). The existence of an O(n+poly(k))-time algorithm for tree edit distance has been posed as open question, e.g., by Akmal and Jin (ICALP'21), who give a stateof-the-art O(nk2)-time algorithm. In this paper, we answer this question positively. © 2022 IEEE.

The dynamic deployment of aerial vehicles in urban delivery scenarios demands precise route planning, reliable data links, and efficient use of network infrastructure. Although prior efforts have explored various aspects of unmanned navigation or communication optimization, existing approaches often overlook the combined impact of three-dimensional path selection and robust connectivity maintenance. To address this gap, this paper proposes a deep reinforcement learning framework employing Independent Proximal Policy Optimization (IPPO) to steer the flight paths of unmanned vehicles while curtailing needless interactions with base stations (BSs). By incorporating communication-specific metrics, Reference Signal Received Power (RSRP), the proposed system adapts to urban conditions and upholds resilient network links. Comprehensive performance evaluations reveal the potential of the framework to reduce excessive BS connections by up to 82.24%, preserve RSRP levels above -80 dBm, and balance handover frequencies across flight trajectories. These findings affirm the scalability and effectiveness of the method for achieving efficient aerial navigation and consistent communication in urban delivery services.

This article discusses the possibilities of measuring Particulate Matter using optical low-cost sensors. Depending on the sensor used, not only can there be problems with the positioning of the sensor with respect to the incoming sunlight, but it may also be possible to measure ultrafine particles. While PM2.5 and PM10 are commonly used to characterize air quality, in this paper we point out the need to pay more attention to smaller particles up to 0.1 μm in size (also referred to as ultrafine particulates) due to their highly negative effects on the human health. Attention is also paid to the correlation between particulate matter and meteorological factors like pressure, temperature, and humidity. However, the sudden change in Pearson's correlation coefficient unveiled a need to look into the effect of the wind on particulate matter. © COPYRIGHT SPIE. Physical Full Duplex (FD) operation in WLANs is a promising technology aiming at substituting the traditional Half Duplex (HD) functionality. An increased performance is expected which, theoretically, can be expressed as a double increase in system throughput. However, due to the initial design of the basic access method in WLANs, known as Distributed Coordination Function (DCF), this performance boost is poorly exhibited. Game theory is an invaluable tool to model the performance of Medium Access Control (MAC) protocols used in WLANs. In this paper, we exploit game theory to propose a simple enhancement to the DCF access method, in order to increase the benefit received when the FD capability is enabled in ad-hoc WLANs.

Internetworks with a large number of routing devices that utilise the Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) routing protocol, benefit greatly if they are designed in a hierarchical manner. The multi-area feature of OSPF leads to reduced network overhead, low processing and memory requirements and smaller routing tables. This, however, comes at the cost of increased configuration complexity, especially at the Area Border Routers. The threshold after which splitting the OSPF domain into multiple areas, is an ongoing debate among network administrators. A well known rule-of-thumb is recommended by large vendors of networking devices setting that threshold to 50 routing devices. The objective of this preliminary work is to investigate that threshold by conducting a simulation-based study using the OPNET network simulation tool. To assess the network performance, we select the network convergence duration as the quantitative Key Performance Indicator (KPI) of our study. Results indicate that the above mentioned threshold does not appear to be appropriate and a revision of that empirical rule should be considered.

In recent decades, obtaining energy from wind, solar, and hydro energy has brought hope for a sustainable future. Machine learning (ML) significantly impacts the field of energy systems. ML techniques have emerged as a powerful tool for analyzing and optimizing energy systems. This approach can potentially reduce the cost of analyzing a device by focusing solely on the data generated during its operation. This paper investigates the application of regression models to predict renewable energy production based on weather conditions, aiming to enhance the reliability and efficiency of renewable energy systems. Experiments are performed using Decision Tree (DT), k-nearest Neighbors (KNN), Multiple Linear (MLR), Polynomial (PR), Random Forest (RF), and Support Vector (SVR) Regression algorithms. The performances of ML models are compared based on the evaluations obtained through the Coefficient of Determination (R2), and error measures namely Mean Absolute Error (MAE), Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE), Mean Squared Error (MSE), and Root Mean Square Error (RMSE). RF is the most successful algorithm in predicting renewable energy production depending on weather conditions as it has the highest R2 value and the lowest error measures.

With Industry 4.0's technological advancements, the convenience and affordability of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and IoT have increased. However, customers still face long waiting times in payment queues during the smart shopping experience. Current solutions rely on expensive sensor-based RFIDs or simple barcodes, making them impractical and limited in scalability. This paper proposes an economically smart solution with two cameras on NVIDIA JETSON NANO for realtime object monitoring and automated shopping. Communication between modules is facilitated by TCP/IP and HTTP protocols. By utilizing the YOLO v7, real-time monitoring is achieved. This innovative approach revolutionizes the customer experience by providing a seamless interface and time-saving features. Additionally, it offers potential integration with e-commerce businesses and payment gateways, further enhancing the overall customer and vendor experience.
