The lack of a pre-existing infrastructure for facilitating long-range connectivity with the land makes maritime communications extremely difficult. Satellite connections, which are expensive, and use much power, are generally used to communicate on the high seas. For better connectivity between fisheries and land stations, different functional methods such as whether detection, boundary detection, data security, barrier detection, and data communication without interruption have been implemented in the system. Implementing a LoRa WAN system is to inform about emergencies in the deep sea and send the information indicated above. IoT node-based Ad hoc network is used to communicate with the land station without an internet connection. In case of emergency or when the fisheries need to send data and information to the land station in real-time, the fishing boat can interact with the land station through this proposed system. Blockchain technology is used in the system to ensure secure communication of information. In this scenario, the blockchain technology has enabled it to deploy distributed networks and perform secure peer-to-peer transmission and data integrity without a third party accessing the network. © 2022 IEEE.

This paper concerns pet adoption by building a web-based platform that supports the idea of using technology for the pet adoption process in Saudi Arabia, the eastern province in specific. The difficulty of the adoption process and putting pets up for adoption is a real problem in our society. In this regard, we put forward the idea of "Leen"to provide easy and quick services for this process and make it accessible to all interested people. Our platform offers many services such as adoption, pet care, donation, Etc. However, the main point in the "Leen"platform is that all services provided are free with no fees. A "Leen"platform user can offer a pet for adoption to find a home with another user from "Leen". Also, a user can look for pet care clinics at their nearest location in the region. Furthermore, a user can directly donate to trusted adoption associations in Saudi Arabia. "Leen"platform was built to provide the mentioned services and more. Eventually, having the platform within reach of users will provide all the services faster and easier than usual. © 2022 IEEE.

The decentralized nature, self-regulation, and rapid transaction speeds of the cryptocurrency landscape foster both innovation and fraud. As crypto gains attention, fraudulent exchanges posing as legitimate platforms present significant financial risks. Traditional reporting methods, like those of CryptoScamDB, are becoming less effective. This study addresses the need for automated techniques to identify and classify fraudulent exchanges. We found that features related to domain information, website security, and user reviews are crucial for detection. A comparative experiment using machine learning models—random forest, support vector machine, k-nearest neighbour, light gradient boosting machine, and multi-layer perceptron—showed that the light gradient boosting machine (95.9%) and random forest (95.5%) had the highest accuracy. An ensemble model using soft voting achieved a higher accuracy of 96.2%, outperforming its base models. These results demonstrate that machine learning is a viable approach for automating the classification of fraudulent exchanges.

Effective communication is crucial when working on complex or wicked problems in interdisciplinary, international teams. Developing a shared understanding of critical concepts and aligning knowledge, focus, and resources can be problematic when stakeholders speak different languages, span several disciplines and work within different national or industry-based norms. Using visual tools to represent critical concepts and their relations, and map out our strategic goals has greatly helped combat such issues. This paper recounts the use and impact of adopting visual tools within the transnational and interdisciplinary collaborative environment in the BC4ECO project's international consortium. The Miro Board and the canvas approach greatly helped represent, visualise, and thus concretise the structure and contents of our collaboration, which takes place within a 3 years ERASMUS+ framework that builds and delivers Summer School, MOOCS as well as teacher and multiplier events about harnessing the potential of Distributed Ledger Technologies (DLTs) for environmental sustainability. As the materials and MOOCS are expected to become Open Education Resources and have a wide impact, it is particularly crucial to get the contents as well as the pedagogy right, in spite of the team's differences in almost any dimension of background and culture. © 2023 IEEE.

The success of organizations today relies heavily on their intellectual capital, as knowledge is a key resource for value creation. Sharing and transferring knowledge enhances its value, embedding it within an organization’s processes and boosting competitiveness. This study focuses on the Yemen public telecommunication corporation (YPTC), which has adopted a knowledge-focused management approach. This study aims to explore challenges related to knowledge transfer in Yemen’s public sector, where such research is lacking. Using a descriptive and analytical method, data were collected via a questionnaire from 200 employees, yielding a response rate of 88%. The findings indicate a high level of knowledge transfer at YPTC, with individual, organizational, and technological factors identified as significant influences. The key barriers include trust, information technology support, motivation, and social networks. © 2024 IEEE.

The challenges regarding harmonised interoperable e-health services are enormous due to the complexity of the domain, comparatively high demands of privacy and security, implications of storing, sharing, and managing health data as well as unclear definitions and standards for patient's electronic health records. Therefore, the advantages of digitalisation are yet to reach the end user-patient, especially in the emergent regions where digital infrastructure is limited. The focus is on the north and northeast regions of Brazil, where a holistic understanding of the requirements for a digital transformation of the health care system is explored through the lens of an expert panel using a Delphi methodology, complemented by a comparison with related innovations in the digital health domain. © 2023 Copyright for this paper by its authors.

Drunk driving continues to be a substantial public health issue, leading to a multitude of accidents and deaths on a global scale. Conventional techniques for identifying drunk driving, such as breathalyzers and field sobriety tests, tend to be reactive rather than proactive. This paper surveys the existing methods for detecting drunk driving to enhance traffic safety. The technologies studied can proactively detect impaired driving behaviors by combining machine learning (ML) approaches with real-time data processing. The study outlines various classifications based on measured metrics and driving behavior. © 2024 IEEE.

In the process of quality analysis of grains, number counting is one of the key steps for agricultural production. Traditional manual grain counting methods are time-consuming and subject to human error, and automated methods have the potential to improve accuracy and save time. In this study, we aimed to develop an image analysis-based method to automatically quantify the number of grains in a quicker manner. The 576 grain images were collected manually, and labelImg tagging tool used to annotate to generate a text file with their respective positions by drawing bounding boxes manually. The datasets consist were separated into three groups: training, validation, and test. For object detection, the YOLOv5, YOLOv4, and YOLOv3 algorithms represent cutting-edge deep learning frameworks. They replace the tedious and error-prone manual counting process by precisely identifying and counting grains in images obtained from agricultural fields. This technique helps to increase grain counting's precision and effectiveness. We believe this method will be extremely beneficial in guiding the development of high throughput systems for counting the number of grains in other crops as it performs well with a wide range of backgrounds, picture sizes, grain sizes, as well as various quantities of grain crowding. When compared to the other two approaches, YOLOv4 performed well in terms of accuracy, speed, and robustness (97.65%), demonstrating that the suggested strategy is competitive with other cutting-edge deep networkst. © 2023 IEEE.

Kubernetes, an open-source platform for automating deployment, scaling, and management of containerized applications, has become a cornerstone in modern IT infrastructure. Alongside its widespread adoption, Kubernetes faces a series of sophisticated security challenges, especially in managing numerous containers. This research uniquely focuses on multi-class threat detection, classifying various types of security threats within Kubernetes environments. Machine learning is emerging as a powerful tool in cybersecurity, offering new ways to detect and mitigate threats. However, there is a shortage of comprehensive research on its application within Kubernetes, especially for detecting multiple types of security threats. This research aims to bridge this gap by introducing a machine learning-based technique for improved threat detection in Kubernetes environments. We propose an advanced detection method using the Naive Bayes algorithm, complemented by comprehensive feature engineering and dimensionality reduction using neural networks. The most effective model, which combines Principal Component Analysis (PCA) and Autoencoder with the Naive Bayes classifier, achieved an F1 Score of 0.95 and an accuracy of 91%.

The conventional hybrid active noise control (ANC, HANC) may significantly degrade if the reference signal for the feedforward ANC (FFANC) subcontroller consists of not only a broadband component but also a low-frequency sinusoidal component that is uncorrelated or partially correlated with the narrowband noise component that is attenuated by the feedback ANC (FBANC) subcontroller. In this paper, a new robust HANC system is proposed to mitigate the performance degradation resulting from the low-frequency sinusoidal component. A band-pass filter bank (BPFB) is applied to the FFANC reference signal to separate the low-frequency sinusoidal component from the broadband one and each of them is fed to an FFANC subcontroller that solely focuses on a single noise component. A supporting filter takes the extracted broadband component and the residual error as its input and desired signal, respectively. The same BPFB is then applied to the supporting filter error in order to separate the remaining low-frequency sinusoidal component from the narrowband component that persists in the residual error. The use of the two BPFBs and the supporting filter allows the three HANC subcontrollers to operate practically independently, each taking care of one of the pre-processed noise components which are uncorrelated with each other irrespective of the relationship between the two original noise sources. Extensive simulations are provided to demonstrate the improved effectiveness and robust capability of the proposed HANC as compared to its counterpart, even in a case that the low-frequency sinusoidal component in the FFANC reference signal is partially corrected with the primary narrowband noise component that is targeted by the FBANC. © 2023 IEEE.
