Quasi-periodic time series (QTS) exists widely in the real world, and it is important to detect the anomalies of QTS. In this paper, we propose an automatic QTS anomaly detection framework (AQADF) consisting of a two-level clustering-based QTS segmentation algorithm (TCQSA) and a hybrid attentional LSTM-CNN model (HALCM). TCQSA first automatically splits the QTS into quasi-periods which are then classified by HALCM into normal periods or anomalies. Notably, TCQSA integrates a hierarchical clustering and the k-means technique, making itself highly universal and noise-resistant. HALCM hybridizes LSTM and CNN to simultaneously extract the overall variation trends and local features of QTS for modeling its fluctuation pattern. Furthermore, we embed a trend attention gate (TAG) into the LSTM, a feature attention mechanism (FAM) and a location attention mechanism (LAM) into the CNN to finely tune the extracted variation trends and local features according to their true importance to yield a better representation of the fluctuation pattern of the QTS. On four public datasets, HALCM exceeds four state-of-the-art baselines and obtains at least 97.3% accuracy, TCQSA exceeds two cutting-edge QTS segmentation algorithms and can be applied to different types of QTSs.

This paper presents an analytically designed layered decoding algorithm for quasi-cyclic low-density parity-check (QC-LDPC) codes in the 5th Generation (5G) New Radio (NR) mobile communication system. First, a layered density evolution (DE) based on reciprocal channel approximation (RCA) is newly developed to accurately reflect the layered decoding operation in the decoder design. Using this technique, a single nested sequence is optimized in a greedy way to configure the processing order for any given number of layers. The error-correction performance is improved by up to 0.15 dB, while the number of iterations is reduced by about one simultaneously.

One major goal of digital twin technology applied in the Architecture, engineering, and Construction (AEC) Industry is the mapping of roads and road environments with their associated information. Such digital twins can support cost-effective testing, simulations, and the production of mapping backgrounds for automated vehicles and generally for Cooperative, Connected and Automated Mobility (CCAM) developments. The efficient workflow that leads from data acquisition to finished products depends on a number of requirements and knowledge sets. The main contribution of the paper is a general methodology of creating HD-map from point cloud and image data set. Accordingly, the most widely used survey techniques are presented and the requirements for the objects to be derived are summarized. The paper then outlines a general implementation procedure as an expert knowledge through a real-life example, where the results obtained for the ZalaZONE Automotive Proving Ground are demonstrated.

Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a collection of neurological disabilities marked by difficulties with behavior, speech, language, and interaction. It is a complicated and behaviorally defined static disorder of the developing brain. Recently it has become a serious concern across the world. The goal of this project was to use bioinformatics tools and network biology to uncover the molecular signatures and pathways of ASD. We investigated brain transcriptomics gene expression datasets and determined 47 dysregulated differentially expressed common genes. Several kinds of crucial neurodegeneration-related molecular mechanisms in the signaling structures were determined as a result of these investigations. We implemented gene set enrichment analysis (GSEA) using bimolecular pathways and gene ontology (GO) terms to determine the role of these differentially expressed genes (DEGs), as well as protein-protein interactions (PPI), transcriptional factor interactions, and post-transcriptional factor interactions. PPI network collected the top ten hub genes including KIT, PIN1, GATA1, GRIN2A, PBX2, BLK, ATP6V1B1, TCF7L1, TRAF1, and HSPG2. The PPI network also revealed the existence of two sub-networks. Moreover, several transcription factors (NFIC, USF2, TFAP2A, RELA, FOXL1, GATA2, YY1, FOXC1, NFKB1, and E2F1) and post-transcription factors (mir-335-5p, mir-26b-5p, mir-124-3p, mir-192-5p, mir-1-3p, mir-215-5p, mir-6825-5p, mir-146a-5p, mir-8485, and mir-93-5p) were found throughout this study. Some drug-like molecules were also predicted that might have a beneficial effect against ASD. We detected potentially novel links between pathogenic conditions in ASD patient's brain tissues. This work offers molecular biomarkers at the gene expression level and protein bases that could aid in a better understanding of molecular pathways, as well as potential pharmacological approaches and therapies for developing effective ASD treatments. © 2022 The Authors

Touching is a medical action that a practitioner touches a patient's body. The touching has physical and mental positive effect, and is an important technique for nursing. This study examines the touching effect to frustrating emotion in the nursing setting. To induce the frustrating emotion, we adopted an irritating bar-game and a mental calculation task with time limit. The power spectral density (PSD) and the event-related potential (ERP) in the electroencephalogram (EEG) and the self-evaluation scores (frustrating emotion, anger, and valence) were evaluated. As a result, the touching decreases θ band PSD during the frustrating work, and makes the subject's state to the relaxed condition. When the subject made a mistake in the game, the touching decreases the amplitude of P300. These results suggest that the touching reduces unpleasant emotion. © 2020 IEEE.

The study presents the design and development of security solution pertaining to prevention of leakage of secret data that is in transit (DIT) to be deployed in a network Gateway, the Gateway is the link connecting the Trusted network with the Un-trusted network. The entire solution includes, tasks such as classification of data flowing in the network, followed by the confinement of the identified data, the confinement of the identified data is done either by tagging the data or by means of encryption, however the later form is employed to achieve confinement of classified data under secret category thereby achieving confidentiality of the same. GNN is usedfor achieving the categorization function and the results are found to be satisfying with less processing time. The dataset that is used is the publicly available dataset and is available in its labeledformat. The final deployment will however be based on the datasets that is available to meet a particular requirement of an Organization/Institution. Any organization can prepare a customized dataset suiting its requirements and train the model. The model can then be usedfor meeting the DLP requirement. © 2020 IEEE.

Wearable devices such as smartwatches and smartbands generate large volume of personal information through sensors, which, in turn, can be used for providing a range of services to users, such as heart rate measurement and making calls. As the generated data are preserved in the internal storage of the wearable device, getting access to this data from the device’s internal storage can prove useful in criminal investigations. We, therefore, propose a forensic model based on direct connections using wireless or internal/external interfaces beyond indirect forensics for wearable devices. The forensic model was derived based on the ecosystem of wearable devices, and the proposed forensic methods were divided into logical and physical forensic methods. To confirm the applicability of the forensic model, we applied it to wearable devices from Samsung, Apple, and Garmin. Our results demonstrate that the proposed forensic model for wearable devices can be successfully used to derive artifacts such as device information and health data.

This paper delves into the numerical investigation of aluminum oxide–water nanofluid thermal and dynamic performances under the influences of magnetic field application and chemical reaction, utilizing the Finite Element Method within a circular enclosure containing three inner tubes, as an application to the heat exchanging phenomenon between the reactive shell of the cavity and the surface of the triple tubes. Various governing parameters were studied for their interaction on the nanofluid flow and heat transmission rate within the proposed geometry, including the Rayleigh parameter (10³≤Ra≤10⁵), Hartmann parameter (0≤Ha≤61), nanoparticles concentration (0≤∅≤6×10^-2), magnetic rotational angle (0^o≤γ≤90^o), and Frank-Kamenetskii parameter (0≤F_k≤3). The results indicated that raising Ra from 10³ to 10⁵ results in expediting the nanofluid velocity by 10.62 % and 100 % respectively as well as raising the total heat transfer efficiency. The nanofluid speed was also increased by 28.57 % when F_k has to further increase to a value of 3. When there was no exothermic activity present, the rate of heat transmission was at its lowest, and it was greater when the F_k value was 3. Similarly, there were discernible impacts in various areas of the geometry as the Ha number intensified and the Nu_avg decreased. Improvements in local and mean Nusselt parameters are observed when the concentration of nanoparticles is increased, suggesting better heat transfer, achieving an increase by 7 % in the average Nusselt number. This research emphasizes the importance of nanoparticle concentration in raising the medium's rates of heat transmission, contributing to advancements in energy storage development. © 2024 The Author(s)

This paper presents an analysis of the asymptotic performance of bit-interleaved coded modulation (BICM) with hybrid automatic repeat and request (HARQ) systems employing quasi-cyclic low-density parity-check (QC-LDPC) codes. To enhance the BICM-HARQ systems, we propose a modified reciprocal channel approximation density evolution (RCA-DE) algorithm, which approximates the $M$ -ary input channel with HARQ combining to log2 $M$ parallel binary-input white Gaussian noise channels (BI-AWGNCs). A practical application of the proposed RCA-DE technique involves investigating bit-level mapping and modulation for a wide range of code lengths, rates, and modulation orders. Numerical results show that up to 4.8 dB gain is achieved by the mapping designed using the proposed RCA-DE, compared to the original fifth-generation (5G) New Radio (NR) system. Furthermore, our numerical results demonstrate a strong correlation between the simulation and analysis results, validating the effectiveness of the proposed RCA-DE approach for practical system implementation.

Prostate cancer (PoC) is currently one of the most frequent cancers in males. Though a lot of work has been done on it, the biomarkers in the progression of prostate cancer have not been fully identified. In this research, we used the GSE70466 and GSE104131 for RNA-Seq gene expression datasets to reveal the important biomarkers and related pathways of prostate cancer. Furthermore, Differentially Expressed Genes (DEGs) were extracted from the dataset with the R statistical language tools, and to investigate the functional enrichment of the DEGs, an online repository Enrichr was used. Then, another database, STRING was used in this work to generate the protein-protein interaction (PPI) network and represented the network using the well-known Cytoscape software. After that, a Cystoscape plug-in MCODE identified clusters from the PPI network. In the end, some drug compounds that may be useful in the therapy of PoC have been revealed. A total of 83 common DEGs (43 upregulated and 40 downregulated) were exposed using some statistical criteria. Overexpressed DEGs were engaged in the metabolism of glutamine family amino acids and alpha-amino acids, while underexpressed DEGs were mostly involved in the regulation of the transmembrane receptor protein serine/threonine kinase signaling pathway and positive regulation of potassium ion transport. In addition, the overexpressed DEGs were highly involved with Arginine and Proline metabolism, whereas the underexpressed DEGs were connected with Proteoglycans in cancer, according to the KEGG pathway analysis. A total of 154 nodes and 2068 connections were used to construct the PPI. Using the connectivity method, we conclude 20 genes (INS;VEGFA;CDH1;IGF1;ITGB1;IGF1R;CAV1;ESR1;KDR;TGFB1;CD44;MMP9;PIK3R1;SHC1;IGF2;SMAD4;TGFBR1;ENG;IRS1;VWF) as hub genes. Finally, we identified and validated two important biomarkers as well as certain pharmacological compounds that could be effective in the therapy of PoC. © 2023 The Authors
