Future smart grids will open the marketplace to novel services for grid management, such as Demand Side Management (DSM). To achieve energy saving in distribution systems, DSM aims at modifying load profile patterns of electricity demand by involving actively customers. In particular, residential customers can participate to this service by shifting their energivourous appliances (e.g. washing machine and dishwasher).In this paper, we present a novel DSM service to manage a day ahead balance. It exploits a human-in-the-loop approach to provide suggestions on shifting their appliances based on Latent Dirichlet Allocation algorithm combining both i) the probability density function of each customer's appliance usage and ii) the cost function. To assess our DSM service, we present our experimental results performed in a realistic environment where we simulated a virtual population of about 1′000 families. © 2019 IEEE.

Three spatial clustering approaches of a high-Reynolds number transient buoyant jet in a linearly stratified environment are applied along with proper orthogonal decomposition to identify similar/consistent regions in the domain of interest. The velocity fields analyzed are obtained from an experimental test with large scale, time-resolved, particle image velocimetry (PIV) measurements. Clustering is performed by the k-means method considering: (a) cross-section velocity profiles, (b) point-wise energy spectra, and (c) point-wise Reynolds stress tensor components. Three metrics are used for the assessment of clustering approaches, namely: (a) within-cluster sum of squares, (b) average silhouette, and (c) within-cluster number of POD modes required to resolve prescribed levels of total variance/energy. Results are promising and lay the foundation for an in dept. analysis of local features of complex flows as well as the formulation of efficient reduced order models. © 2019 by Timothy K. Minton. Design of neural nonlinear PFC controller to control speed of autonomous car

In this research, we are going to design a neural nonlinear predictive functional controller (PFC) to achieve a reduced fuel consumption for a chosen autonomous car walks according to a supplied speed trajectory on known roads. We used a fitting neural network as a simple tool for modelling the car's engine and control laws needed to calculate the suitable control commands passed to the brakes and gas pedals' actuators. Independent model method and constraints handling are used to provide controller robustness. We used MATLAB Simulink and IPG CarMaker to design and test our PFC controller. The performance of designed PFC controller is compared to the performance of a PI controller which exists within IPG CarMaker simulator. Copyright © 2019, The Authors. All rights reserved.

In recently, all the developers, programmer and software engineers, they are working specially on software component and software testing to compete the software technology in the world. For this competition, they are using different kind of sources to analysis the software reliability and importance. Nowadays Data mining is one of source, which is used in software for overcome the problem of software fault which occur during the software test and its analysis. This kind of problem leads software deformity prophecy in software. In this research paper, we are also trying to overcome the software deformity prophecy problem with the help of our proposed solution called ONER rule attribute. We have used REPOSITORY datasets models, these datasets models are defected and non-defected datasets models. Our analysis class of interest is defected models. In our research, we have analyzed the efficiency of our proposed solution methods. The experiments results showed that using of ONER with discretize, have improved the efficiency of correctly classified instances in all. Using percentage split and training datasets with ONER discretize rule attribute have improved correctly classified in all datasets models. The analysis of positive accuracy f-measure is also increased in percentage split during the use of ONER with discretize but in some datasets models, the training data and cross validation is better with use of ONER rule attribute. The area under curve (ROC) in both scenarios using ONER rule attribute and discretize with ONER rule attribute is almost same or equal with each other.

The problem of regulators (controllers) design is extremely relevant in connection with the penetration into all technological areas of the methods of precise control of objects with feedback. Such devices are being more and more used, which increases the variety of controlled objects. This list includes all new objects of robotics and technological setups, which have much more complex mathematical models. One of the most urgent problems in this area is control of non-stationary objects. Parameters of mathematical model of these objects are given with some uncertainty, but not in fixed values, i.e. by only intervals of their possible changes. If the intervals are too wide, adaptive systems have to be designed, but if they are not too wide, then one can try to find a universal regulator setting that will be sufficiently effective for all ratios of the model parameters within the acceptable intervals of their changes. The paper proposes a new method of the numerical optimization of regulator for finding such a setting for the worst object model that is for the worst combination of all variable parameters. Finding the worst model is also carried out by a numerical optimization method, in which a combination of model parameters is found where the best regulator gives the worst result. The problem is proposed to solve in several optimization cycles with alternation of objective functions. The technique has been well illustrated by a numerical example. © 2019 IEEE.

Heart diseases are the leading cause of death in developed countries. Ascertaining the etiology of cardiomyopathies is still a challenge. The objective of this study was to classify cardiomyopathy patients through cardio, respiratory and vascular variability analysis, considering the vascular activity as the input and output of the baroreflex response. Forty-one cardiomyopathy patients (CMP) classified as ischemic (ICM, 24 patients) and dilated (DCM, 17 patients) were analyzed. Thirty-nine elderly control subjects (CON) were used as reference. From the electrocardiographic, respiratory flow, and blood pressure signals, following temporal series were extracted: beat-to-beat intervals (BBI), total respiratory cycle time series (TT), and end- systolic (SBP) and diastolic (DBP) blood pressure amplitudes, respectively. Three-dimensional representation of the cardiorespiratory and vascular activities was characterized geometrically, by fitting a polygon that contains 95% of data, and by statistical descriptive indices. The best classifiers were used to build support vector machine models. The optimal model to classify ICM versus DCM patients achieved 92.7% accuracy, 94.1% sensitivity, and 91.7% specificity. When comparing CMP patients and CON subjects, the best model achieved 86.2% accuracy, 82.9% sensitivity, and 89.7% specificity. These results suggest a limited ability of cardiac and respiratory systems response to regulate the vascular variability in these patients.

This paper present two different approaches for modelling a magnetically coupled multiport dc-dc converter. First, from the magnetic coupling equations, the instantaneous dynamic model is obtained. Secondly, a behavioural dynamic model, based on averaging the power flowing among the ports, is derived. Some numerical simulations compare the temporal evolutions with the two obtained models.

Smart meters enable improvements in electricity distribution system efficiency at some cost in customer privacy. Users with home batteries can mitigate this privacy loss by applying charging policies that mask their underlying energy use. A battery charging policy is proposed and shown to provide universal privacy guarantees subject to a constraint on energy cost. The guarantee bounds our strategy's maximal information leakage from the user to the utility provider under general stochastic models of user energy consumption. The policy construction adapts coding strategies for non-probabilistic permuting channels to this privacy problem.
