Attribute-Based Encryption (ABE) with non-monotonic access policies provides fine-grained access control for widespread applications like Cloud-assisted HealthIoT systems. In this context, multi-authority ABE with untrusted authorities eliminates the need for a trusted authority, but ensuring user's identity and attributes-set privacy against these authorities remains a significant challenge. This paper proposes a new, efficient multi-authority ABE approach that preserves user's identity privacy and attributes-set privacy, and is secure against collusion attack. Also, the proposed approach provides non-monotonic access policies, which supports positive and negative constraints using NOT operation as well as AND and OR operations. © 2023 IEEE.

Challenges faced by traffic management in many developing nations across the globe is a result of the poor quality of road infrastructure. Inadequate and defective road infrastructure are major contributors to this effect. A key element that poses significant risk to road safety and that leads to increased road management cost is the increasing number of potholes and inefficient detection and reporting approach. This study provides an in-dept. exploration of the latest developments in pothole detection systems and examines various methodologies and technologies used in these systems, emphasizing the importance of real-time monitoring for proactive road maintenance. In addition, we proposed a system that addresses the persistent challenge of road infrastructure degradation by adopting cutting-edge technologies, including computer vision, machine learning, and sensor networks (such as ultrasonic and GPIO systems) that are used to identify and assess potholes on road surfaces. To achieve the aim of the study, the system adopts the use of RasberryPi 4 Model B for pothole detection and YOLOv4 for image processing. © 2024 IEEE.

A permanent magnet was used to improve the torque density of the magnetic gear for gear ratio conversion, and a study was conducted to attach the permanent magnet to the tooth tip of the rotor. Through this, it was found that attaching a permanent magnet to the outer rotor is effective. In addition, in the case of gear ratio conversion, in this method, there is a part where the magnetization direction of the electromagnet and the permanent magnet are opposite, resulting in poor results. Therefore, when applied to teeth with coincident magnetization directions, good results were obtained in all cases even when the gear ratio was converted. Games live streaming is growing rapidly as a form of entertainment. A game streamer will like to know what game to stream in order to attract huge number of viewers and followers which in turn will generate sizable income for the streamer. Using streamer's metrics, the main goal of this research work is to design and develop a set of resources that a streamer can use to maximize the number of viewers and followers for a particular game and when to play the game. This research develops two models using machine learning techniques that can be used by game streamers to maximum the returns on investment. When both model predictions are presented as percentage, Model 1 using regression algorithms provides a MAE of 5.48 meaning the prediction has an error within 5.48% of the streamer's total follower count. Also, Model 1 has 85.46% of its predictions' absolute error less than or equal to 5. Similarly Model 2 with 2.53 MAE and 87.68% of its predictions' absolute error less than or equal to 5. © 2022 IEEE.

A new Quadtree with nested multi-type tree(QTMT) partitioning method is adopted in the latest video coding standard Versatile Video Coding(VVC) to achieve effective encoding. Compared with Quadtree(QT) in HEVC, QTMT can provide enhanced encoding performance. However, this improved coding performance is obtained at the cost of additional computational load from recursive and nested searches for the best CU structure. A context similarity-enabled CU partitioning algorithm is proposed to achieve a balance between coding efficiency and compression quality in VVC. According to the difference between frames, the method of frame difference algorithm is used to calculate the possibility that the current block can follow the same subblock division mode of the previous frame, so as to skip the unnecessary division selection process. The experimental results show that the proposed method can save the encoding time up to 18.22% with about 0.91% BD-rate degradation on average compared with VVC software reference VTM-9.3 © 2023 IEEE.

The proliferation of 5G technologies has presented challenges such as signal attenuation and high energy consumption. This study proposes a novel approach to enhance wireless networks by integrating Intelligent Reflecting Surfaces (IRS) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to optimize signal propagation and predict the Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI). A new framework combines K-means clustering for IRS deployment with a Temporal Convolutional Network-Gated Recurrent Unit (TCN-GRU) model for signal prediction. Using data from 15,000 Wi-Fi access points in Herefordshire, UK, the results demonstrate significant improvements in signal strength, with the proposed model achieving a Mean Squared Error (MSE) of 37% lower than the existing models, indicating higher prediction accuracy. In addition to enhancing signal quality, the framework achieves throughput increases of 21.26% with single-group IRS and 64.91% with multi-group IRS. These results validate the proposed the potential of the framework to improve performance, making it suitable for next-generation wireless networks. © 2025 IEEE.

The goal of this research is to create an optimized hybrid coupler structure for a PIN diode reflection type phase shifter (RTPS) operating at microwave frequencies. To date, no phase shifter has been reported with the proposed technique, compactness, minimum phase error and balanced amplitude. Another limitation of designing such structures at such high frequency range, is that the 50Ω impedance lines' width approaches its length for given substrate thickness, that is undesirable. This study introduces a new method of developing a module at 100 Ω and translating it back to 50 Ω at the input and output terminals. Moreover, the proposed design is highly resilient to manufacturing constraints owing to the addition of radial stubs instead of lumped components, as reflective loads. Its performance with respect to its bandwidth coverage is better with 15% bandwidth enhancement, insertion loss around 3dB, and reflection co-efficient at all ports is better than -15dB over the whole operating bandwidth. The simulated and measured results validate the proposed design effectively. © 2024 IEEE.

Images from passive imaging polarimeters are often displayed in terms of their intensity (s0), degree of linear polarization (DoLP), and angle of polarization (AOP). The AOP and DoLP together generally provide information about shape and surface quality of imaged objects;however, the information conveyed in these images are often difficult to interpret, especially to an analyst unfamiliar with polarization phenomenology. Furthermore, it can be challenging to train machine learning approaches with direct polarimetric information due to the limited availability of application-specific data. Augmenting s0 images with polarimetric information in the form of contrast and shape enhancement thus allows for the data to remain in the domain of traditional EO-IR intensity imagery that is more familiar for both humans and trained networks. In this work we explore several strategies for effectively fusing polarimetric information into s0 imagery to improve target shape and contrast for both human and algorithmic consumption, with a particular focus on remote sensing and target detection applications. © 2024 SPIE.

This study proposes a cutting edge Intelligent Doctor Chatbot that improves healthcare delivery and provides patients with easily accessible and customized health related information through the use of Natural language processing (NLP) and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies. These technologies are used by the chatbot to provide accurate medical advice based on symptom analysis and general health guidance in an interactive manner. The doctor chatbot addresses the growing demand for reliable healthcare information and assistance, particularly in situations where access to medical professionals is limited. By leveraging its advanced algorithms and medical knowledge base, the chatbot provides users with quick and accurate answers to their health-related questions. A key feature of the doctor chatbot is that users describe their symptoms and receive preliminary assessments on potential causes and suggested courses of action. This paper introduces Augmented Karuta, an interactive floor projection experience inspired by traditional Japanese playing cards, known as 'Karuta'. Designed to engage users and stimulate interest in local cultures, history, and traditions, the system utilizes three projectors. Two projectors project 46 'grabbing' cards onto the floor screen of 4.1 x 3.7 (m), while the third displays a corresponding 'reading' card on a wall screen. Each matching pair of cards shares a poem or sentence that begins with one of the Japanese phonograms. During a session, users actively engage by stepping onto the projected 'grabbing' card that matches the 'reading' card displayed on the wall, effectively blending physical movement with cognitive skills to find the correct match. By integrating a two-dimensional LiDAR sensor, the system tracks the user's position on the interactive floor. This tracking is vital for the proposed system to immediately respond to the user's actions, ensuring an immersive and seamless interaction with the digital karutas on the floor. We conducted evaluation experiments at two museums, gathering positive feedback from 57 participants. Future work will focus on quantitatively evaluating the system's impact on learning effectiveness. © 2025 IEEE.
