A Study on Verification of Sewage Treatment Expert Operating Experience Using RNN

In this paper, we proposed a data quality and diversity guarantee plan and a method to verify the expert operation experience using RNN and a data quality and diversity guarantee plan to 1) solve the two problems of the sewage treatment expert driving experience and 2) the limitation of situation recognition and judgment. As a solution to the lack of data quality and diversity, not all data are used, but a method of filtering and using only the part that is the basis for determining the expert's experience was proposed. In addition, RNN was used to solve the problem of the limitation of situation recognition and judgment. The reason why RNN is used among various neural networks is that RNN is a neural network architecture for deep learning that predicts time series or sequential data, and sewage treatment data is also time series or sequential data. According to the proposed technique, a RNN model with a reliability of more than 8% was implemented, and the effectiveness of the proposed technique was verified by applying two experiences and one incorrect experience of actual operation experts of the target sewage treatment plant. As a result of the verification, both the actual driving expert's experiences 1 and 2 were verified as valid, and for incorrect experiences, there were 3,442 data that matched the expert's experience and 4,444 data that did not match, so the proposed method can verify the expert's experience. © The Korean Institute of Electrical Engineers.

The proliferation of 5G technologies has presented challenges such as signal attenuation and high energy consumption. This study proposes a novel approach to enhance wireless networks by integrating Intelligent Reflecting Surfaces (IRS) and Artificial Intelligence (ai) to optimize signal propagation and predict the Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI). A new framework combines K-means clustering for IRS deployment with a Temporal Convolutional Network-Gated Recurrent Unit (TCN-GRU) model for signal prediction. Using data from 15,000 Wi-Fi access points in Herefordshire, UK, the results demonstrate significant improvements in signal strength, with the proposed model achieving a Mean Squared Error (MSE) of 37% lower than the existing models, indicating higher prediction accuracy. In addition to enhancing signal quality, the framework achieves throughput increases of 21.26% with single-group IRS and 64.91% with multi-group IRS. These results validate the proposed the potential of the framework to improve performance, making it suitable for next-generation wireless networks. © 2025 IEEE.

Natural Language Processing (NLP) is revolutionizing the legal domain, enabling tasks such as predicting legal outcomes, summarizing complex documents, identifying key entities, and assessing bail risks. This survey paper presents a comprehensive review of the existing research on NLP tasks applied to legal documents and judgments across various languages, with a special emphasis on low-resource languages. Despite the extensive work done in widely spoken languages like English, there remains a critical need to extend these advancements to languages with limited resources and data availability. This paper categorizes and analyzes the NLP tasks in the legal domain based on the languages they target. It highlights the methodologies employed, datasets utilized, and the performance of different models across diverse languages. Furthermore, it identifies the gaps in current research and proposes potential directions for future work, particularly in improving the accessibility and applicability of NLP solutions for legal texts in underrepresented languages. By providing a comprehensive overview of advancements and obstacles, this survey seeks to assist future research endeavors that bridge the disparity between high-resource and low-resource languages in legalai applications. © 2025 IEEE.

This study explores the use of Genetic Algorithms (GA) to solve the NP-hard combinatorial optimization problem known as the Travelling Salesman Problem (TSP). The suggested GA, called GA-P, performs better than conventional techniques because it uses a new randomized crossover threshold. According to experimental assessments, GA-P outperforms a normal Genetic Algorithm with fixed crossover (GA-N, 628.6) and approaches the best Branch and Bound solutions (B&B, 560.6) with an average cost of 617.4 for 16-node graphs. With average execution times of 0.1347 seconds for 16 nodes, GA-P also demonstrates constant computational efficiency, outperforming B&B's exponentially growing temporal complexity (169.37 seconds for 16 nodes). In order to balance solution quality and computational cost, hyperparameter tweaking revealed the ideal values of population percentage (pp = 1.1), crossover proportion (cp = 0.8), mutation threshold (mt = 0.3), and exploration probability (ep = 0.2). The results show that GA-P is a scalable and efficient substitute for TSP, with room for improvement via parallelization and exploratory techniques. © 2025 IEEE.

air pollution remains a critical issue, adversely affecting public health and the environment. In this study, we utilize the air Quality index dataset from Kaggle to analyze temporal and seasonal variations of key pollutants, specifically Carbon Monoxide (CO), Nitrogen Oxides (NOx), and Benzene (C6H6 ). Building upon this analysis, we predict Absolute Humidity (AH), a vital meteorological factor influencing pollutant dispersion, using Machine Learning (ML) and Deep Learning (DL) techniques. Three ML techniques, Linear Regression (LR), Random Forest (RF), and Support Vector Regression (SVR), and three DL techniques, Artificial Neural Network (ANN), Convolutional Neural Network (CNN), and Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM), are employed for predicting AH. The results indicate that while the RF model achieved the lowest Mean Absolute Error (MAE) among ML methods (0.02), the CNN model, despite having an MAE of 0.04, demonstrated statistical superiority through paired t-tests and Wilcoxon signed-rank tests (p © 2025 IEEE.

In general, determining the authenticity of damaged banknotes can often be challenging. To address this, the Bank of Korea exchanges banknotes that are not suitable for circulation due to damage or wear. In this study, we propose a banknote authenticity judgment system using MemSeg based on K-means memory update. This system identifies damage to banknotes more objectively and quickly. When memory update is performed using K-means, normal images with various feature patterns are updated uniformly in the memory. The experimental results show that the image-AUROC is improved by an average of 4.27% compared to the existing method. This proves that the proposed method is more objective. © 2025 IEEE.

The dynamic deployment of aerial vehicles in urban delivery scenarios demands precise route planning, reliable data links, and efficient use of network infrastructure. Although prior efforts have explored various aspects of unmanned navigation or communication optimization, existing approaches often overlook the combined impact of three-dimensional path selection and robust connectivity maintenance. To address this gap, this paper proposes a deep reinforcement learning framework employing Independent Proximal Policy Optimization (IPPO) to steer the flight paths of unmanned vehicles while curtailing needless interactions with base stations (BSs). By incorporating communication-specific metrics, Reference Signal Received Power (RSRP), the proposed system adapts to urban conditions and upholds resilient network links. Comprehensive performance evaluations reveal the potential of the framework to reduce excessive BS connections by up to 82.24%, preserve RSRP levels above -80 dBm, and balance handover frequencies across flight trajectories. These findings affirm the scalability and effectiveness of the method for achieving efficient aerial navigation and consistent communication in urban delivery services. © 2025 IEEE.
