Computer networks provide exceptional privacy, primarily for testing and other educational activities. However, the security of computer networks is an exceptionally touchy subject, mainly when applied in labs and tests for educational purposes. Any software system created on a server typically requires a username and password to access a collection of computers on a particular network. The proposed work devised and implemented a neural network feedback network with four inputs (I.P. address, MAC address, user number, and time) and an output that represents the user's acceptance or rejection. A few instances of the data and numbers needed to train the neural network include the lab's address, the student's name, the academic stage's address, etc. Good results were obtained through the company's training and education, which was tested on more than 200 models, and the response aligned with the data. No user can access the network without first being recognized by the proposed network by comparing the pre-trained data to ensure they are authorized to take the exam or enter for any other reason. © 2023 IEEE.

The relevance of the present research is related to the search for promising ideas for increasing the maximum slew rate of the output voltage (SRM) of new-generation operational amplifiers (OpAmps). Proposed circuit techniques that provide (with simultaneous use) an increase in SRM by more than 2 orders of magnitude. Such high-speed operational amplifiers are in demand today for application in drivers of high-speed ADCs (AD9208, AD9691, etc.), and as active elements in circuits of analog-to-discrete filters on switched capacitors. It is proposed to introduce (according to the developed rules) a nonlinear differentiating RC-circuit realized based on an additional differential stage and a differentiating capacitor of small capacitance into the classical OpAmps with one integrating correction capacitance. Such circuit "additives"practically do not change the low-signal dynamic and static parameters of the OpAmp, and at a large signal during the transient front, when the input stage enters the nonlinear mode, form a large current overcharge of the integrating correction capacitor. Consequently, the SRM of the OpAmp is significantly increased. © 2024 IEEE.

Partial discharge (PD) pulse characteristics describe the nature of an insulation defect, its severity, and aging behavior of electrical insulation. However, extracting these characteristics requires sophisticated tools in order to denoise measured PD data, detect actual PD pulses, and analyze the corresponding characteristics. This paper proposes an effective tool that utilizes a simple hybrid approach based on wavelet denoising and the local maxima technique that denoises PD data acquired using a high-frequency current transducer. After denoising, it detects PD pulses from a time series dataset and identifies corresponding primary features like peak pulse amplitude and location. In addition, it can extract pulse shape (rise time, fall time and pulse width), and pulse sequence (voltage interval and time interval) features. Developed tool is computationally efficient as it precisely detects major PD events and corresponding features from a large data set while rejecting noise. Efficiency of tool is checked by implementing it on various data sets obtained from experimental investigation performed on three distinct types of defects, i.e., corona, surface, and internal discharge. Results show that this tool can be used for the identification of defect types, their progression, and aging studies to estimate the remaining lifetime based on changing PD behavior. ©2024 IEEE.

This paper presents a novel approach for solving unrelated parallel machine scheduling problems through reinforcement learning. Notably, we consider three main constraints: release date, machine eligibility, and sequence- and machine-dependent setup time to minimize total weighted tardiness. Our work presents a new graph representation for solving the problem and utilizes graph neural networks combined with reinforcement learning. Experimental results show that our proposed method outperforms traditional dispatching rules and an apparent tardiness cost-based algorithm. Furthermore, since we represent and solve the problem using graphs, our method can be used regardless of the number of jobs or machines once trained. © 2024 IEEE.

The transition to vehicle electrification introduces new demands on chassis dynamics, paving the way for advances in driving dynamics, safety, and efficiency. A key consideration arises: how are driving torque impulses converted in electric vehicles with multiple power sources? This study introduces a novel approach to address these demands through the integration of state-of-the-art yaw control, using concurrent front/rear axle and front right/front left torque distribution based on the wheel speed balance control concept. Our aim is not necessarily to demonstrate the supremacy of our approach, but rather to present a fresh philosophical perspective on the problem of yaw control in electric vehicles. Our method embodies dynamic load transfer and axle dynamics into the yaw control problem formulation, setting it apart from current methodologies. Through experimental results, we illustrate the effectiveness of our proposed approach regardless of road surface conditions. © 2024 IEEE.

The circuitry of a switched-capacitor low-pass filter (SCF) is considered, in which it is possible to tune the pole frequency without changing the capacitances of the switched capacitors, for example, by selecting them of the same kind. To study the suggested SCF circuit, the analysis in the time domain was used, and the obtained characteristics of the SCF were further compared with the characteristics of a generalized second-order analog filter. It is shown that the parameters implemented by the suggested filter depend not only on the capacitance values of the switched capacitors, but also on the ratio of the resistances of two additional resistors. Moreover, the SCF pole frequency is determined by the switching frequency of the keys, the ratios of the capacitances of the switched capacitors, as well as the ratio of the resistances of additional resistors. Due to the goal-oriented selection of the resistances of these resistors, it is possible to lower the SCF pole frequency at constant and identical values of the capacitances of the switched capacitors. © 2023 IEEE.

The operation of storage batteries, with their expanded deployment, affects electricity market prices. Discharging storage batteries lowers the peak electricity market price and recharging them raises the bottom price, thereby reducing arbitrage opportunities in the electricity market. This paper examines the effectiveness of internalizing storage losses into the power market and treating storage facilities as transmission assets. Simulation results show that investments in energy storage facilities based on revenues via the electricity market fall short of energy storage capacity required to achieve carbon neutrality. Here we propose a formulation that minimizes the marginal storage rents that energy storage earns from the electricity market. The formulation of the energy storage losses in this paper, with an objective function that minimizes system cost, does not involve operations for the purpose of energy storage congestion and arbitrage between time periods, and short-term efficiency is obtained. Based on these results, we argue that an incentive to return on investment that treats the energy storage as a transmission asset is effective in achieving carbon neutrality, which requires the deployment of capacity that exceeds the efficiency-marginal energy storage investment cost. © Energynautics GmbH.

This paper describes a computational investigation on the use of a standard Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm to design a model-free optimal feedback control law based only on input-output data. The considered case study involves vibration suppression of a thin-walled rotating cylinder with collocated piezoelectric actuator/sensor patches. To assess the optimization algorithm performance, comparisons were made with a model-based optimal feedback control law for linear quadratic regulation, obtained by solving the associated algebraic Riccati equation. The simulations include examining the effect of different rotational speeds and parameter uncertainty. The results show a good match between the PSO-based feedback control law and the model-based optimal feedback control law. At the same time, an informed choice of parameter ranges for the PSO algorithm should be made. © 2023 IEEE.

Time-variant Free-Space Optical channel behaviour is analysed for temporal variations of Cn2 values, satellite motion and satellite passes. These variations lead to non-stationary statistical properties of the irradiance at the receiver. The analyses are based on representative link models and complemented by measured data from recent test campaigns. These are the 10 km’s near-horizontal field test with the TOMCAT demonstrator terminal and the in-orbit test between the SmallCAT terminal onboard the NorSat-TD LEO microsatellite and the TNO optical ground station GOCAT in The Hague. The study shows substantial variations of the statistical properties of the irradiance for LEO satellite motion and predominantly for time-variant Cn2 behaviour. For variations of satellite passes – with respect to the ground station – the sensitivity of irradiance properties over the full pass is less pronounced. An analysis of the probability distribution of elevation angles over all satellite passes reveals a high probability of low elevation links. © 2024 SPIE.
