The paper presents a promising method of increasing by more than an order of magnitude the maximum slew rate (SR) of integrated operational amplifiers (OpAmps) based on two-cycle “folded“ cascodes. This method is based on the introduction of special differentiating transient correction circuits into the classical circuits of OpAmps. Developed on the basis of the MH2XA031 array chip, the high-speed OpAmp is recommended for practical use in the subclass of so-called discrete-analog SC-filters on switched capacitors, for which (in some important cases) higher SR values are required. The effect of significantly improving the OpAmp’s speed is to provide higher output current levels of the two-cycle “folded” cascode that recharges the integrating correction capacitor during the transient edge. The OpAmp’s speed performance in the large-signal mode is increased from $248.7 \mathrm{~V} / \mu \mathrm{s}$ to $4148 \mathrm{~V} / \mu \mathrm{s}$ as a result of this.

Artificial intelligence is increasingly becoming important to businesses since many companies have realized the benefits of applying Machine Learning (ML) and Deep Learning (DL) into their operations. Nevertheless, ML/DL technologies' industrial development and deployment examples are still rare and generally confined within a small cluster of large international companies who are struggling to apply ML more broadly and deploy their use cases at a large scale. Meanwhile, current AI market has started offering various solutions and services. Thus, organizations must understand how to acquire AI technology based on their business strategy and available resources. This paper discusses the industrial experience of developing and deploying ML/DL use cases to support organizations in their transformation towards AI. We identify how various factors, like cost, schedule, and intellectual property, can be affected by the choice of approach towards ML/DL project development and deployment within large international engineering corporations. As a research result, we present a framework that covers the trade-offs between those various factors and can support engineering companies to choose the best approach based on their long-term business strategies and, therefore, would help to accomplish their ML/DL project deployment successfully. © 2022 ACM.

The relevance of the present research is related to the search for promising ideas for increasing the maximum slew rate of the output voltage ($\text{SR}_{\text{M}}$) of new-generation operational amplifiers (OpAmps). Proposed circuit techniques that provide (with simultaneous use) an increase in $\text{SR}_{\text{M}}$ by more than 2 orders of magnitude. Such high-speed operational amplifiers are in demand today for application in drivers of high-speed ADCs (AD9208, AD9691, etc.), and as active elements in circuits of analog-to-discrete filters on switched capacitors. It is proposed to introduce (according to the developed rules) a nonlinear differentiating RC-circuit realized based on an additional differential stage and a differentiating capacitor of small capacitance into the classical OpAmps with one integrating correction capacitance. Such circuit "additives" practically do not change the low-signal dynamic and static parameters of the OpAmp, and at a large signal during the transient front, when the input stage enters the nonlinear mode, form a large current overcharge of the integrating correction capacitor. Consequently, the $\text{SR}_{\text{M}}$ of the OpAmp is significantly increased.

This paper presents a study for optimizing a hot rolling mill. The paper is devoted to the study of ways to reduce the effect of shock loads of synchronous electric drives of the roughing mill group on the relative lengthening of the metal strip in the inter-stand gap of the rolling stands of the finishing mill group. The elasticity of the metal strip in the inter-stand gap of the rolling mill has a significant impact on the movement of intercoupled multi-motor electric drives of the finishing mill group. Another crucial route of exposure that influences the motion of the electric drives within the finishing mill group involves the electromagnetic connection between the drives in the roughing and finishing mill groups. The impact of the electromagnetically connected circuits is evident through the effect of shock loads from synchronous electric drives on the angular velocity of the direct current electric drives within the finishing mill group. The characteristics of the electromagnetic communication circuit are established by the power grid arrangement and equipment specifications. To assess the quality of work of electric drives of the finishing mill group, it is proposed to use the relative lengthening of the metal strip in the inter-stand gap, which is an important indirect indicator of the quality of rolling. The mathematical model of a hot rolling mill that takes into account both the elasticity of the metal strip that connects the DC electric drives of the finishing group, and the electromagnetic coupling circuit that takes into account the impact loads of synchronous electric drives of the roughing group on the example of the mill 1700 of ArcelorMittal Temirtau JSC was proposed in this paper. The proliferation of Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) in various applications has necessitated the exploration of network architectures that can ensure efficient, scalable, and reliable communication. This study presents a comparative performance evaluation of traditional networking paradigms and Software-Defined Networking (SDN)-based architectures within WSN. Utilizing the Floodlight SDN controller and Mininet-WiFi emulator, we conducted a series of experiments across three different network topologies, varying the number of hosts and access points. The performance metrics focused on are average latency, packet loss percentage, and throughput. The results demonstrate a considerable improvement in all measured parameters under the SDN-based environment compared to the traditional setup. Specifically, SDN environments consistently showcased lower latency, minimal packet loss, and higher throughput, with the most notable difference observed in smaller network configurations. The findings suggest that SDN, with its centralized control plane, can significantly enhance the performance of WSNs, particularly in scenarios demanding rapid scalability and dynamic traffic management. This study underscores the potential of SDN architectures in optimizing WSN operations and lays the groundwork for future research in this domain. © 2024, Politechnica University of Bucharest. A circuit design of a high-speed CBJT operational amplifier (OpAmp) based on an “folded” cascode is proposed, in which a differentiating transient correction circuit is introduced to increase the maximum slew rate of the output voltage (SR). The considered OpAmp is intended for use in a subclass of so-called discrete-to-analog SC filters on switched capacitors, where (in some important cases) higher SR values of the OpAmp are required. In addition, such high-speed OpAmps are in demand in drivers of high-speed analog-to-digital converters and other devices of automatics and computer engineering. computer simulation in LTSpice environment shows that the proposed CBJT OpAmp circuit designs for micron silicon technological processes provide SR increase from 45.8 V/μs to 18000 V/μs.

One major goal of digital twin technology applied in the Architecture, engineering, and Construction (AEC) Industry is the mapping of roads and road environments with their associated information. Such digital twins can support cost-effective testing, simulations, and the production of mapping backgrounds for automated vehicles and generally for Cooperative, Connected and Automated Mobility (CCAM) developments. The efficient workflow that leads from data acquisition to finished products depends on a number of requirements and knowledge sets. The main contribution of the paper is a general methodology of creating HD-map from point cloud and image data set. Accordingly, the most widely used survey techniques are presented and the requirements for the objects to be derived are summarized. The paper then outlines a general implementation procedure as an expert knowledge through a real-life example, where the results obtained for the ZalaZONE Automotive Proving Ground are demonstrated. © 2023 IEEE.

The Continuous-Time Weighted-Median Opinion Dynamics

Opinion dynamics models are important in understanding and predicting opinion formation processes within social groups. Although the weighted-averaging opinion-update mechanism is widely adopted as the micro-foundation of opinion dynamics, it bears a non-negligibly unrealistic implication: opinion attractiveness increases with opinion distance. Recently, the weighted-median mechanism has been proposed as a new microscopic mechanism of opinion exchange. Numerous advancements have been achieved regarding this new micro-foundation, from theoretical analysis to empirical validation, in a discretetime asynchronous setup. However, the original discrete-time weighted-median model does not allow for "compromise behavior" in opinion exchanges, i.e., no intermediate opinions are created between disagreeing agents. To resolve this problem, this paper propose a novel continuous-time weighted-median opinion dynamics model, in which agents' opinions move towards the weighted-medians of their out-neighbors' opinions. It turns out that the proof methods for the original discrete-time asynchronous model are no longer applicable to the analysis of the continuous-time model. In this paper, we first establish the existence and uniqueness of the solution to the continuoustime weighted-median opinion dynamics by showing that the weighted-median mapping is contractive on any graph. We also characterize the set of all the equilibria. We demonstrate that direct data-driven control of nonlinear systems can be successfully accomplished via a behavioral approach that builds on a Linear Parameter-Varying (LPV) system concept. An LPV data-driven representation is used as a surrogate LPV form of the data-driven representation of the original nonlinear system. The LPV data-driven control design that builds on this representation form uses only measurement data from the nonlinear system and a priori information on a scheduling map that can lead to an LPV embedding of the nonlinear system behavior. Efficiency of the proposed approach is demonstrated experimentally on a nonlinear unbalanced disc system showing for the first time in the literature that behavioral data-driven methods are capable to stabilize arbitrary forced equilibria of a real-world nonlinear system by the use of only 7 data points.

This paper presents a novel computer vision-based approach for assessing leg length discrepancy (LLD) in individuals with prosthetic limbs. The proposed solution uses image processing techniques to detect markers placed on the patient's knee, prosthesis, and a reference wall, allowing for precise measurement of limb alignment. Through a comparative analysis of the initial reference position, set by a specialist, and the current limb positioning, the algorithm identifies discrepancies in leg length. The system employs a non-invasive methodology, utilizing an IP camera to capture images and communicate them via Wi-Fi to a computing unit for further analysis. Experimental validation, conducted on simulated LLDs ranging from 1mm to 10mm, demonstrates the system's high sensitivity and accuracy in detecting subtle changes in limb alignment. This approach offers a scalable, automated alternative to traditional manual methods, improving both the reliability and ease of prosthetic adjustments.
