Nowadays, along with the trend of developing highly autonomous satellites, there is a strong motivation to improve real-time Precise Orbit Determination (POD), in particular for Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites. The development of Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) sensors allows to obtain low-noise measurements and provide a satellite with autonomous continuous tracking onboard. Following the deactivation of Selective Availability, a representative real-time positioning accuracy of 10 m is presently achieved by means of Global Positioning System (GPS) receivers on LEO satellites. The introduction of dynamical filtering methods has opened a new way to improve this accuracy by making use of measurements such as pseudorange or carrier-phase. This paper presents a Kalman filtering approach using pseudorange and pseudorange-rate measurements instead of pseudorange and carrier-phase ones, with advantages in terms of storage and processing requirements. An error of around 0.2 m and 1e-3 m/s for position and velocity is obtained, which is in line if not better w.r.t. other approaches.

This paper presents a lightweight AXI DMA controller architecture useful for embedded systems that do not require fully featured DMA controllers. Simulation is accomplished with VUnit, and implementation results are obtained on a Xilinx XC7Z010CLG400-1 FPGA. When compared with Xilinx's AXI DMA controller with the same configuration, the presented controller utilizes between 16 and 82% fewer resources with comparable speed.

Opinion dynamics models are important in understanding and predicting opinion formation processes within social groups. Although the weighted-averaging opinion-update mechanism is widely adopted as the micro-foundation of opinion dynamics, it bears a non-negligibly unrealistic implication: opinion attractiveness increases with opinion distance. Recently, the weighted-median mechanism has been proposed as a new microscopic mechanism of opinion exchange. Numerous advancements have been achieved regarding this new micro-foundation, from theoretical analysis to empirical validation, in a discretetime asynchronous setup. However, the original discrete-time weighted-median model does not allow for "compromise behavior" in opinion exchanges, i.e., no intermediate opinions are created between disagreeing agents. To resolve this problem, this paper propose a novel continuous-time weighted-median opinion dynamics model, in which agents' opinions move towards the weighted-medians of their out-neighbors' opinions. It turns out that the proof methods for the original discrete-time asynchronous model are no longer applicable to the analysis of the continuous-time model. In this paper, we first establish the existence and uniqueness of the solution to the continuoustime weighted-median opinion dynamics by showing that the weighted-median mapping is contractive on any graph. We also characterize the set of all the equilibria. Then, by leveraging a new LaSalle invariance principle argument, we prove the convergence of the continuous-time weighted-median model for any initial condition and derive a necessary and sufficient condition for the convergence to *** Codes 91D30(Primary) 93A16(Secondary) Copyright © 2024, The Authors. Purpose. The aim of this work is to compare the effectiveness of various methods for correcting cell failures in cascade high voltage frequency converters. These methods provide the smallest voltage drop on the motor, the least loads and oscillation of electromagnetic torque in an accident modes, and evaluate the effectiveness of pulse width modulation (PWM) methods with the injection of third harmonic and space-vector PWM in normal and emergency modes. Methodology. We use mathematical and geometrical interpretation of all analysed methods - Sinusoidal PWM (SPWM), Balanced sinusoidal PWM (BSPWM), Balanced PWM with injected 3rd harmonic (THPWM) and Balanced Space Vector PWM (SVPWM). Results. The method of balancing the phase-to-phase voltages by to such a shift of the zero point and rotation of the phase vectors, in which the amplitude of the phase-to-phase voltage decreases to the minimum possible value. Injection of the 3rd harmonic allows you to further increase the utilisation factor of power supplies in terms of voltage. But the violation of the symmetry of the phase voltages leads to the need to reduce the voltage amplitude to exclude saturation of the power supplies, which reduces this coefficient compared to the theoretically possible 15.6%. A distinctive feature of the method of balanced Space Vector PWM is that the amplitude of the 1st harmonic is always greater than the radius of the circle by 15.6%. Comparison of methods of space vector PWM (SVPWM), balancing of phase-to-phase voltage with the injection of the 3rd harmonic (THPWM) with sinusoidal PWM shows that SVPWM is the best method. Despite the more complex mathematical software for the implementation of this method, it provides the best performance in all considered emergency modes of 3...6 cascade converters. The vast array of cloud providers present in today’s market proffer a suite of High-Performance Computing (HPC) services. However, these offerings are characterized by significant variations in execution times and cost structures. Consequently, selecting the optimal cloud provider and configuring the features of the chosen computing instance (e.g. virtual machines) proves to be a challenging task for users intending to execute HPC workloads. This paper introduces a novel component designed for effortless integration with existing HPC scheduling systems. This module’s primary function is to facilitate the selection of the most appropriate cloud provider for each distinct job, thereby empowering dynamic and adaptive cost-minimization strategies. Through the application of data augmentation techniques and the employment of Continuous Machine Learning, the system is endowed with the capability to operate efficiently with cloud providers that have not been previously utilized. Furthermore, it is capable of tracking the evolution of jobs over time. Our results show that this component can achieve consistent economic savings, based on the quality of the data used in the training phase.

The increasing adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) has left power network providers to deal with new challenges in terms of grid stability and electricity market design. On the latter direction, a demanding problem is represented by the development of probabilistic algorithms capable of computing optimal time-varying price profiles for EVs charging stations to induce a desired aggregative behavior. Here, the inclusion of demand elasticity represents a key feature to provide usable schemes for real-world cases. In this paper, we propose an "estimate-then-optimize" framework for optimal dynamic pricing computation in the presence of price-sensitive customers. It consists of an estimation step based on nonparametric kernel methods to infer about the demand elasticity, followed by an optimization step to maximize the expected daily profit. We describe the charging process via a probabilistic framework and we show the benefits of the proposed formulation via extensive numerical experiments.

Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) are one of the applications of device-to-device (D2D) technology, where two UAVs can communicate with or without the existence of a base station. It facilitates high content delivery, low latency, low cost, and high data rate communication in wireless networks. Despite the aforementioned benefits, an eavesdropping attack is one of the critical challenges that cause interference in UAV communication in the presence of an eavesdropper. To mitigate the aforementioned challenges, we proposed a secure resource allocation for UAV communication in wireless networks. The applied single carrier orthogonal frequency division multiple access (SC-OFDMA) technique utilize the orthogonality feature to provide secure UAV communication in wireless networks. Moreover, a zero-sum game approach is considered to enable the secure and optimal resource allocation for UAV communication. The main aim of the zero-sum game theory is to maximize the communication channel's data rate and secrecy capacity to achieve a secure and optimal UAV communication scenario in wireless networks. Finally, the performance and simulation of the proposed approach are evaluated against the existing random approach in terms of various metrics such as data rate and secrecy capacity of the communication channel.

This work presents the study and development of a high-gain hybrid DC-DC converter with switched capacitor for photovoltaic energy applications. Qualitative analyzes and quantitative values of the converter are proposed. The proposed converter is based on the converter boost integrated into switched capacitive cells with the addition of a small inductor resonant. A mathematical modeling of the converter was developed to determine the value of the resonant inductance, where the converter was analyzed for inductance values of 1uH at 2uH. This proposal presented some advantages: such as extended static gain, reduction of voltage stress in semiconductors and reduction of current peaks in switches. A 200 W prototype was developed and its respective results are presented. Maximum efficiency obtained was 97.1% for a voltage gain of 10.

This paper deals with the design of an Android mobile application and visualization of the measured values of particulate matter and meteorological factors from the measurement stations. The application can in principle be effectively used in any field of data visualization. The architecture of the mobile application, the security, the use of AWS services to access the data in the InfluxDB databases, as well as the user interface and graphical visualizations of the measured data are described and illustrated. The application is user tested and the paper documents their first experiences using the mobile application.

This paper introduces a novel approach for classifying with the 1D Convolutional Neural Network model for partial discharge patterns, that consists of corona discharge, surface discharge and internal discharge. The PD measuring circuit suggested in IEC 60270:2000 is used to record Partial discharge signals. Independent parameters such as phase and charge of PD patterns were recorded. The Artificial Neural Network for the classification model was constructed. Moreover, 2×1D CNN feature extraction was utilized to reduce the curse of dimensionality in the dense layer of the proposed PD classification model. 80% of the recorded data will be used as a training data and 20% recorded data was used for testing of the classification models. Impacts of neuron numbers and network architecture on the PD classification performance will be observed.
