The purpose of this work is to analyze the capabilities of space-vector pulse-width modulation when controlling a 5-phase high-voltage cascade frequency converter in normal mode and several types of emergency situations. Taking into account the large number of controlled power transistors, an asynchronous modulation method is proposed, based on calculating the amplitude values of individual phases at each time based on the duty cycle of space vectors, which allows the control system to use independent switching in each phase. In emergency modes, when individual H-bridges are damaged, it is proposed to use the balanced space vectors method, which ensures the symmetry of the electromagnetic field in the event of a short circuit of both individual cascades and one or two phases of the inverter. Methodology. We use a mathematical and geometric interpretation of variable amplitude space vectors when projecting voltages onto a symmetrical 5-phase load. Results. Analysis of the 1st harmonic of phase voltages showed that the use of the space vector modulation method in the normal operating mode of a 5-phase converter makes it possible to increase the utilization factor of DC voltage sources by 23.1% (instead of 15.6% for a 3-phase converter). If individual H-bridges fail and the voltages in the load phases are balanced, the utilization factor may decrease, but in any case it will remain greater than 1. In this case, the higher harmonics, despite significant distortions in the shape of the phase voltages, are mutually compensated in the electromagnetic field of the load, as evidenced by absence of pulsations and shocks on the graphs of transient processes of the electromagnetic torque of the engine. Balancing of the electromagnetic field in the load is maintained even if one or two phases of the inverter are short-circuited. This significantly increases the survivability of the electric drive, which is especially important in critical mechanisms and technological processes,

The circuitry of a switched-capacitor low-pass filter (SCF) is considered, in which it is possible to tune the pole frequency without changing the capacitances of the switched capacitors, for example, by selecting them of the same kind. To study the suggested SCF circuit, the analysis in the time domain was used, and the obtained characteristics of the SCF were further compared with the characteristics of a generalized second-order analog filter. It is shown that the parameters implemented by the suggested filter depend not only on the capacitance values of the switched capacitors, but also on the ratio of the resistances of two additional resistors. Moreover, the SCF pole frequency is determined by the switching frequency of the keys, the ratios of the capacitances of the switched capacitors, as well as the ratio of the resistances of additional resistors. Due to the goal-oriented selection of the resistances of these resistors, it is possible to lower the SCF pole frequency at constant and identical values of the capacitances of the switched capacitors.

Centralized systems that require third parties remain opaque and represent a single point of failure. Therefore, in accordance with the requirements of cloud services and identity management mechanisms, it is necessary to move towards more transparent and collaborative methods. That is, all service providers under the same federation deal positively with the issued identity of the user. The distributed format gives good potential for ID management systems and treats everyone with the same level of validity. This paper presents a blockchain-based identity management system for the purpose of creating a federated identity management system that is used by multiple organizations by Taking advantage of decentralization and high transparency in the blockchain. Several vital advantages of blockchain are positive for forming identity management systems characterized by transparency and high security, and privacy. Implementing the proposed system on a private Hyperledger Fabric blockchain network proved effective according to the criteria studied, and there is also great potential for improvement. The practical application of the proposed system proved high quality and promising possibilities in blockchain based identity management.

The proliferation of Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) in various applications has necessitated the exploration of network architectures that can ensure efficient, scalable, and reliable communication. This study presents a comparative performance evaluation of traditional networking paradigms and Software-Defined Networking (SDN)-based architectures within WSN. Utilizing the Floodlight SDN controller and Mininet-WiFi emulator, we conducted a series of experiments across three different network topologies, varying the number of hosts and access points. The performance metrics focused on are average latency, packet loss percentage, and throughput. The results demonstrate a considerable improvement in all measured parameters under the SDN-based environment compared to the traditional setup. Specifically, SDN environments consistently showcased lower latency, minimal packet loss, and higher throughput, with the most notable difference observed in smaller network configurations. The findings suggest that SDN, with its centralized control plane, can significantly enhance the performance of WSNs, particularly in scenarios demanding rapid scalability and dynamic traffic management. This study underscores the potential of SDN architectures in optimizing WSN operations and lays the groundwork for future research in this domain. © 2024, Politechnica University of Bucharest. In this paper, a generalized likelihood ratio based detection algorithm with a statistical method for threshold setting is proposed to detect cyber-attacks on a unified remote control architecture. Based on an encoder and a decoder embedded on plant side and remote controller side, respectively, not only additive interrupted signal (only effecting output or input signal), but also multiplicative attack signal could be detected easily. Finally, three numerical examples are provided to validate our proposed scheme.

This paper deals with the design of an Android mobile application and visualization of the measured values of particulate matter and meteorological factors from the measurement stations. The application can in principle be effectively used in any field of data visualization. The architecture of the mobile application, the security, the use of AWS services to access the data in the InfluxDB databases, as well as the user interface and graphical visualizations of the measured data are described and illustrated. The application is user tested and the paper documents their first experiences using the mobile application.

This paper presents client-server mobile system for diagnosis of asynchronous motors. The system is created as a mobile application for smartphones and tablets. The system provides processing of the measured values of the currents and voltages of the stator phases of the asynchronous motor. According to the processing results, the results of diagnostics and forecasting of the current state of asynchronous motors are calculated. The software runs on the Android OS. The main purpose is to predict the current state of AD, which has a parametric electromagnetic asymmetry of the stator phases. © 2023 IEEE.

With the rapid development of computer technology and the Internet of Things (IoT), a large amount of data containing both healthy and faulty states can be collected from existing devices in factories. However, the usable faulty state data is scarce. Transfer learning makes it possible to train efficient and reliable neural networks with a small number of samples. Domain adaptation, as a branch of transfer learning, can effectively realize knowledge transfer between small sample data. Starting from three subcategories of deep learning-based domain adaptation methods, this article summarizes the latest research achievements and provides insights into future research directions.

The considerable increase of wind turbine rotor size and weight in the last years has made impossible to control as they were controlled 20 years ago. The cost of energy is an essential role to maintain this type of energy as a viable alternative in economic terms with traditional or other renewable energies. Through the last decades many different flow control devices have been developed. Most of them were shaped for aeronautical issues and this was its first research application. Currently researchers are working to optimize and introduce these types of devices in multi megawatt wind turbines. Gurney flap (GF) is a vane perpendicular to the airfoil surface with a size between 0.1 and 3% of the airfoil chord length, placed in the lower or upper side of the airfoil close to the trailing edge of the airfoil. When GFs are appropriately designed, they increase the total lift of the airfoil while reducing the drag. Thanks to the implementation of the of this flow control device the efficiency of a wind turbine improves, which results on an increase in the power generation. © The Authors, published by EDP Sciences, 2020.

For RGB semantic segmentation, a two-branch network was proposed to effectively utilize both local detail information and global contextual information within an RGB image. This architecture combines a shallow spatial path with a deeper context path, resulting in high performance and FPS. Research on RGB-dept. segmentation has shown the performance gain that the dept. map could provide complementary information to the RGB model. However, the advantage of fusing RGB and dept. map within a two-branch network framework is unclear due to the distinct characteristics of these modalities. To address this, we present a novel fusion RGB-dept. architecture that takes into account the attributes of local context, global context, RGB, and dept. map. Through the bidirectional image dept. fusion technique, we effectively leverage each of the modalities, achieving a performance of 81.23 mIoU. This marks a gain of 1.27% when compared to the RGB-only model and 0.45% when contrasted with the element-wise feature addition fusion baseline.
