The communication system is essential for the devices used in IoT. Nevertheless, the consumption caused by transmitting and receiving data is a concern in many scenarios. That is due to these devices commonly having limited energy and computational capacities. Transmission of redundant or irrelevant samples frequently wastes the device's resources. Furthermore, Storing a large amount of redundant data could consume storage space and not offer any benefit. Data Compression (DC) methods are a potential solution. DC could reduce communication usage and storage demand. This research proposes the Training Swing Door Trending (TSDT) for being implemented in IoT Devices. TSDT is a new algorithm that improves the classic Swing Door Trending (STD). They represent the data by trend lines and have a constant computational complexity. TSDT has a training step for the automatic configuration of its parameters. This article additionally presents the Compression Factor (C-Score), a new quality metric to analyze the compression results in lossy DC methods. C-Score takes as a basis the F-Score, a measure of predictive performance. The C-Score uses the Compression and Error metrics to evaluate the compression performance in Lossy Algorithms. © 2024 IEEE.

The article is devoted to the development of a hardware and software complex for prototyping an unregulated asynchronous electric drive. The design technology is presented in three stages: development of a simulation model of the electric drive power circuit;development of an abstract automaton for electric drive control and generation of the machine's program code;creation of a software and hardware complex and emulation of the operation of an electric drive. The development of a simulation model of the electric drive power circuit was carried out in the Matlab-Simulink environment based on the operating algorithm of a typical circuit of an unregulated reversible asynchronous electric drive. An abstract automaton for controlling an electric drive is developed using the theory of automata, the mathematical model of which is presented in the form of a combined table of transitions and outputs and a transition graph, which is implemented in Stateflow. The machine code was generated for the CodeSys controller-programming environment. To test the resulting machine program, a visualization of the control and display panel was created. The software and hardware complex of the electric drive is developed using OPC technologies for inter-program data exchange between Matlab-Simulink and CodeSys. The article presents the results of emulating the operation of a prototype electric drive in all possible modes of its operation. © 2024 IEEE.

The possibility of using artificial intelligence in the task of recognizing objects of interest in medical radiographic images has been studied. To implement computer vision, the YOLOv5 neural network and the use of its functionality for pattern recognition on radiographic images of the human wrist joint were considered. YOLOv5 is one of the most popular neural network models due to a number of advantages and features: high learning speed, object detection accuracy, efficient use of hardware and support for various architectures. The use of an artificial neural network in medicine is a promising direction that allows one to obtain data on pathologies and anomalies on radiographs, improving the diagnostic process and providing quick results with a high percentage of reliability. To adapt the model for the task of recognizing objects of the wrist joint in radiographic images, a data set was labeled, including images for retraining the neural network model and test images. Learning key numerical properties is key to building and tuning effective neural network models. The correctness of their selection and debugging have a direct impact on achieving the desired results when retraining and using neural networks. According to the results of the neural network, all classes of objects were correctly identified in more than 70% of the images;this indicator is a worthy result of the work, which confirms the relevance of using a computer vision tool in medical diagnostics and practical application in clinical practice. © 2024 IEEE.

A model describing glitch disturbances is introduced and analysed. The model is used to find the response of glitch disturbances when adding a periodic dither to the input and applying low-pass filtering to the output. This averaged response is used to find a criterion to determine a sufficiently large dither amplitude that will make the averaged glitch disturbances appear as a constant on the output of the low-pass filter. An important resulting property is that the averaged response to glitch disturbances is independent of the model input. By fitting the model to the measured response of a common off-the-shelf digital-to-analogue converter, simulations are used to verify the analytical results. © 2023 IEEE.

The present paper introduces a comparative analysis of the management of a stochastic optimization problem using both a risk deterministic approach and a support vector machine strategy. This optimization problem is formulated in consideration of the influence produced by environmental factors, such as irradiance and temperature, on a photovoltaic panel. The problem will be solved by applying both methods to determine the Maximum Power Point (MPP), thereby to enhance the power generation efficiency. The primary objective is to conduct an analysis comparing the two approaches, with the aim of recommending the most suitable approach for Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT). © 2024, Politechnica University of Bucharest. Integrating digital data and human sensory input in real-world settings offers new possibilities in device diagnostics and maintenance. In this study, we utilized the EcoStruxure Augmented Operator Advisor to develop an augmented reality application for a family house heating system. Our application was designed without access to the real heating system;instead, we simulated its operation with a programmable logic controller. Our final application includes three primary scenes: the heat pump, its indoor unit, and the engine room. Drawing on our practical experience, we discuss the benefits of our approach and the software tools used and summarize our subjective opinions. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper aims to achieve single-channel target speech extraction (TSE) in enclosures by solely utilizing distance information. This is the first work that utilizes only distance cues without using speaker physiological information for single-channel TSE. Inspired by recent single-channel Distance-based separation and extraction methods, we introduce a novel model that efficiently fuses distance information with time-frequency (TF) bins for TSE. Experimental results in both single-room and multi-room scenarios demonstrate the feasibility and effectiveness of our approach. This method can also be employed to estimate the distances of different speakers in mixed speech. Online demos are available at https://***/distance-demo-page/. © 2025 IEEE.

The paper presents the implementation of a Continuous-Time Model Predictive control (CMPC) regulator for controlling an electrohydraulic servo system. The control object is a test bench consisting of three modules and a PC-based data acquisition and control system. The system is modeled in state-space form, accounting for parametric uncertainties. The synthesis of the model predictive controller is performed by approximating the control signal using Laguerre orthonormal functions. The article includes mathematical formulas and relationships that illustrate the modeling approach. Simulations and robust analysis of the closed-loop system are conducted. Through a real-time control system, experimental data and graphs are obtained, demonstrating the performance and optimality of the synthesized control strategy. © 2024 IEEE.

The work demonstrates the process of developing a machine learning model for a system for monitoring and controlling the quality of predough at a bakery. This system will provide continuous analysis of the predough parameters, such as temperature, humidity, lifting force and titranic acidity, which will ensure timely detection of deviations in the quality of the predough and avoid production problems. In addition, it will help automate the quality control process and ensure the stability of production processes. Analysis and forecasting of dough parameters will improve the quality of produced bread or other bakery products. Management based also on the predicted values of technological indicators of the predough will allow the enterprise to avoid unnecessary costs of materials and energy and increase economic efficiency. As part of the study, seven machine learning models were created and reviewed, including three linear and four varieties of binary decision trees. An analysis of the best model - a regression decision tree - was carried out, confirming its effectiveness and the validity of the resulting hierarchical structure, in particular, the prediction of important indicators of predough with a high degree of reliability, which indicates its importance in practical applications in production. The created model can be used to monitor and control product quality in real time, allowing operators to quickly identify and correct any deviations in process performance. Also, by analyzing changes in the variables of the predough production process, it is possible to identify precursors of possible production accidents or deviations in product quality, which will allow timely measures to be taken to avoid them. ©2024 IEEE.

The electromagnetic calculation of magnetoelectric switched-type motors with high-energy permanent magnets by the method of separating Fourier variables in polar coordinates is considered. A two-dimensional analytical model is used taking into account the real geometry of permanent magnets, stator slots with a fixed finite magnetic permeability of the teeth and the yoke of the stator and rotor cores. To do this, the single magnetic field of the machine is divided into a set of cylindrical strips, analyzed independently of each other. At the boundaries of the strips, the conditions for conjugating magnetic fields are met: scalar magnetic potentials and normal components of magnetic induction do not undergo jumps. Magnetic potentials are determined from the solution of the Dirichlet boundary value problem, and induction, which is usually determined from the solution of the Neumann boundary value problem, is here determined by differentiating the expression for the magnetic potentials.. The latter eliminates the need to solve additionally the Neumann boundary value problem. In this case, an original technology for finding Fourier constants is used, based on the equality of magnetic potentials and magnetic inductions at the boundaries of the strips. Graphs of magnetic induction in the air gap at the pole division are presented, obtained taking into account the stator gearing, winding harmonics of the magnetomotive force and the geometric structure of the arrangement of permanent magnets. It has been shown that bevel of the stator slots by a tooth pitch makes it possible to eliminate the reactive torque of the motor. © 2024 IEEE.
