The paper presents a promising method of increasing by more than an order of magnitude the maximum slew rate (SR) of integrated operational amplifiers (OpAmps) based on two-cycle 'folded' cascodes. This method is based on the introduction of special differentiating transient correction circuits into the classical circuits of OpAmps. Developed on the basis of the MH2XA031 array chip, the high-speed OpAmp is recommended for practical use in the subclass of so-called discrete-analog SC-filters on switched capacitors, for which (in some important cases) higher SR values are required. The effect of significantly improving the OpAmp's speed is to provide higher output current levels of the two-cycle 'folded' cascode that recharges the integrating correction capacitor during the transient edge. The OpAmp's speed performance in the large-signal mode is increased from 248.7 ~V / μ s to 4148 ~V / μ s as a result of this. © 2024 IEEE.

A method for shaping the power spectral density (PSD) of the total error due to uniform quantisation is proposed. It utilises non-subtractive dithering, generated with a joint specification of the probability density function (PDF) and the PSD. If the dither PDF has certain properties, the expected value of the quantiser output can be linearised and the variance of the error (the error power) can be made independent of the quantiser input. It is demonstrated that making the error power independent of the input enables shaping the error PSD as a separate problem. The method relies on the use of a linear noise colouring filter and a static non-linear transform, which imposes some restrictions on the specification of the error PSD. However, it is possible to synthesise a range of filters that can be used to shape the PSD of the error. Simulations are provided to verify and illustrate the operation of the method.

We study the problem of global asymptotic stability preservation (GASP) for C0 non-smoothly stabilizable systems with input delay under sampled-data feedback. With the aid of Halanay inequality and the notion of homogeneity, the following sampled-data control results are established under a fast sampling: 1) GAS is preservable if the nonlinear system is homogeneous of degree zero and globally asymptotically stabilizable by homogeneous feedback;2) As a consequence, GAS via sampled-data feedback is achieved for a class of non-smoothly stabilizable systems with input delay in a lower-triangular or upper-triangular form. © 2024 IEEE.

A circuit design of a high-speed CBJT operational amplifier (OpAmp) based on an 'folded' cascode is proposed, in which a differentiating transient correction circuit is introduced to increase the maximum slew rate of the output voltage (SR). The considered OpAmp is intended for use in a subclass of so-called discrete-to-analog SC filters on switched capacitors, where (in some important cases) higher SR values of the OpAmp are required. In addition, such high-speed OpAmps are in demand in drivers of high-speed analog-to-digital converters and other devices of automatics and computer engineering. Computer simulation in LTSpice environment shows that the proposed CBJT OpAmp circuit designs for micron silicon technological processes provide SR increase from 45.8 V/µs to 18000 V/µs. © 2024 IEEE.

Non-Intrusive Load Monitoring NILM - has always presented itself as a promising technology for optimising energy management. However, its success is far from obvious due to some inherent limitations. This paper preliminarily analyses the crucial role played by Electrical Signature Quality in the optimisation of NILM processes using a non-supervised approach based on clustering and statistical methods. A simple and effective disaggregation mode is proposed, in which the only a priori knowledge required is that of the nominal nameplate characteristics of the monitored system. The study is based on a realistic context that emulates a real office scenario, with three multi-state electrical equipment, monitored through an appropriate experimental setup. © 2024 IEEE.

Power Domain Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access (PD-NOMA) is recognized as one of the most promising technologies for next-generation multiple access in future wireless networks. Such multiplexing leads to the controlled inter-channel interference (ICI) cancelled at the receiver. In reality, ICI is represented as quadrature amplitude modulated (QAM) symbols (or other modulation). However, the vast majority of research papers use signal models in which ICI is represented as the additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) with the equivalent power. Yet, such a replacement is not fully equivalent, because it reduces the accuracy of signal decoding. This is a significant simplification of the system model, which results in an additional inaccuracy in obtaining a number of system characteristics. This paper presents an approach that allows solving this problem and representing ICI as AWGN by means of a coefficient without increasing the decoding error. It also describes an expression for calculating the coefficient obtained and its performance confirmed by simulation results. © 2023 IEEE.

This paper addresses the challenges of efficient coordination and safety assurance of moving block train platooning system. Conventional railway signaling method which relies on static block systems often fail to adapt to high frequency scenarios and thereby limiting the railway system's operational flexibility and scalability. The moving block signaling approach through communication-based train control (CBTC) technology has recently been proposed and viewed as a potential solution alternative to address such limitations. To enhance railway system opearational performance and safety, this paper proposes a control strategy combining sliding mode control (SMC) and event-triggered control (ETC) for a multi-agent system representation of train convoy operating under moving block signaling scheme. The proposed SMC is used to ensure robust tracking and coordination of the train convoy in the presence of inter-train communication loss, while ETC scheme is used to minimize communication and computation overhead in each train by updating the individual train's control actions only when deemed necessary. The proposed approach improves coordination, safety, and resource efficiency within complex, multi-agent train systems. Simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the combined control strategy in maintaining inter-train spacing even when data transmission loss/drop occur on several time instances.

This paper reports a controller design methodology for a differential drive wheeled mobile robot (DDWMR) model which considers both safety and stability properties of the robot's operation. The proposed methodology first constructs a stabilizing controller using control Lyapunov Function (CLF) concept and then generates a polynomial function-type reference trajectory to seamlessly connect the initial and final poses of the DDWMR. Subsequently, a control Barrier Function (CBF) based scheme is used to ensure the safety of the DDWMR movement in avoiding moving obstacles while driving on the constructed reference trajectory. By the proposed CLF-CBF integration, the proposed approach offers an efficient solution for autonomous navigation of DDWMR in the presence of moving obstacles while also addresses the challenges posed by its nonholonomic constraint. The effectiveness of the proposed approach is shown through simulations which demonstrate the robot's ability to perform safe and stable collision-free movement and navigation.

Computer networks provide exceptional privacy, primarily for testing and other educational activities. However, the security of computer networks is an exceptionally touchy subject, mainly when applied in labs and tests for educational purposes. Any software system created on a server typically requires a username and password to access a collection of computers on a particular network. The proposed work devised and implemented a neural network feedback network with four inputs (I.P. address, MAC address, user number, and time) and an output that represents the user's acceptance or rejection. A few instances of the data and numbers needed to train the neural network include the lab's address, the student's name, the academic stage's address, etc. Good results were obtained through the company's training and education, which was tested on more than 200 models, and the response aligned with the data. No user can access the network without first being recognized by the proposed network by comparing the pre-trained data to ensure they are authorized to take the exam or enter for any other reason. © 2023 IEEE.

The performance of fault detection filters relies on a high sensitivity to faults and a low sensitivity to disturbances. The aim of this paper is to develop an approach to directly shape these sensitivities, expressed in terms of minimum and maximum singular values. The developed method offers an alternative solution to the H−/H∞ synthesis problem, building upon traditional multiobjective synthesis results. The result is an optimal filter synthesized via iterative convex optimization and the approach is particularly useful for fault diagnosis as illustrated by a numerical example. © 2023, CC BY-NC-ND.
