The paper is devoted to study of the influence of rolling modes on the performance of powerful interconnected electric drives of a hot rolling mill under the action of an electromagnetic coupling circuit between the electric drives of the roughing and finishing groups. The action of the electromagnetic coupling circuit manifests itself in the form of the influence of impact loads of synchronous electric drives on the angular velocity of direct current electric drives of the finishing group of the mill. The parameters of the electromagnetic coupling circuit are determined by the power supply scheme and equipment parameters. Values of impact loads applied to a synchronous motor depend on the rolling process parameters, in particular, the chemical composition of the rolled steel and the temperature of the ingot. The paper presents the results of calculating the rolling power for various rolling mode parameters. Using mathematical modeling in Simulink, numerical estimates of the influence of rolling modes on the magnitude of the voltage drop in the power supply unit and the drop in the angular velocity of the electric drive of the finishing group were obtained on the example of a wide-strip hot rolling mill 1700 of ArcelorMittal Temirtau JSC.

The Electrical Engineering undergraduate program of the Escola Politécnica of the Universidade de São Paulo has created an alternative innovative curriculum path for its freshmen students in 2024. The Competency-based Path emphasizes the development of competencies and skills for the unprecedented technological advancements that necessitate a holistic education for future electrical engineers, preparing them with practical skills for real-world challenges. The program was designed using an innovative methodology and centers around semester-long or year-long integrative projects. These projects bridge the gap between theory and practice, as students deal with real-world challenges while fostering social responsibility.

The article discusses the issues of modeling and control of heating systems in a residential building. The results of the analysis, selection of parameters of the cascade control system are presented. An algorithm is presented that implements the operation of a virtual object. The modeling of typical life support structures in the CX-Programmer environment is carried out. A virtual object control program has been developed in the language of ladder diagrams (relay-contact circuits). The multi-circuit management of residential building infrastructure facilities in the light of the requirements of Smart City has been proposed. The selection and justification of the method of controlling the heating system with cascade temperature control is considered. A heating system stand has been created to test the proposed automation systems. The description of the hydraulic, electrical and software parts of the stand. To control the operation of the stand, a controller is proposed, implemented on the Arduino platform. The results confirming the attainability of the proposed structural changes. The results of experimental studies are presented.

The article presents the development, implementation and approbation of a multi-level architecture of the intelligent agent-based educational system for training of technical specialists. The paper presents results obtained after review and analysis of three mathematical models (Van der Pol, Lienard and FitzHugh-Nagumo) for investigation of dynamics of microwave radio-frequency devices based on a resonant tunneling diodes. A simple circuit of a non-autonomous radio-frequency device based on a resonant tunneling diode was proposed. A simplified mathematical model of Van der Pol was used. Mathematical modeling of electrical oscillation dynamics for the non-autonomous radio-frequency device based on a resonant tunneling diode was performed. Phase portraits of the non-autonomous radio-frequency device, time diagrams and amplitude spectra of its input and output signals in modes of fractional multiplication and division of frequency were obtained. © 2020 IEEE.

In this paper, we propose a data-driven leak localization method for water distribution networks (WDNs) which combines two complementary approaches: graph-based interpolation and dictionary classification. The former estimates the complete WDN hydraulic state (i.e., hydraulic heads) from real measurements at certain nodes and the network graph. Then, these actual measurements, together with a subset of valuable estimated states, are used to feed and train the dictionary learning scheme. Thus, the meshing of these two methods is explored, showing that its performance is superior to either approach alone, even deriving different mechanisms to increase its resilience to classical problems (e.g., dimensionality, interpolation errors, etc.). The approach is validated using the L-TOWN benchmark proposed at BattLeDIM2020. Copyright © 2021, The Authors. All rights reserved.

This paper presents a study for optimizing a hot rolling mill. The paper is devoted to the study of ways to reduce the effect of shock loads of synchronous electric drives of the roughing mill group on the relative lengthening of the metal strip in the inter-stand gap of the rolling stands of the finishing mill group. The elasticity of the metal strip in the inter-stand gap of the rolling mill has a significant impact on the movement of intercoupled multi-motor electric drives of the finishing mill group. Another crucial route of exposure that influences the motion of the electric drives within the finishing mill group involves the electromagnetic connection between the drives in the roughing and finishing mill groups. The impact of the electromagnetically connected circuits is evident through the effect of shock loads from synchronous electric drives on the angular velocity of the direct current electric drives within the finishing mill group. The characteristics of the electromagnetic communication circuit are established by the power grid arrangement and equipment specifications. To assess the quality of work of electric drives of the finishing mill group, it is proposed to use the relative lengthening of the metal strip in the inter-stand gap, which is an important indirect indicator of the quality of rolling. The mathematical model of a hot rolling mill that takes into account both the elasticity of the metal strip that connects the DC electric drives of the finishing group, and the electromagnetic coupling circuit that takes into account the impact loads of synchronous electric drives of the roughing group on the example of the mill 1700 of ArcelorMittal Temirtau JSC was proposed in this paper. Cloud computing is a reasonably distributed computing with heterogeneous computing resources. Resource sharing, convenience of resources that correspond to the needs and a lot of box-management issues facing the cloud. Here, during this paper, analysis and comparison of varied existing algorithms of service brokers and load equalization algorithms in cloud computing . To check the implementation of existing algorithms, varied modeling tools were developed, for instance, a Cloud Analyst. The performance of the present policies of the service broker is compared by considering total response time and execution time in data center.

The diverse requirements of customers in automation systems increase the need for improved adaptability, flexibility and of simplicity production processes. which creates new horizons for modern production systems. Fortunately, the achievements of the Industry 4.0 (fourth industrial revolution) have provided many solutions to these problems. In this study, an OPC UA-based solution is proposed for monitoring the working process of CAN servo drives. By integrating C++ based OPC UA libraries to implement common OPC UA functionality and developing protocol of interaction between the kernel of CNC system and OPC UA server. The aim of this work is to ensure the connection mechanism between OPC UA Server of CNC system and OPC UA clients which are currently existed on the market. This flexible model allows users to remotely tune and set up CAN servo drives and monitor their work.

All types of servo step drives motion controllers should guarantee the accuracy of control at all possible rotation speeds taking into consideration the application field of servo drive. Depending on the implementation of servo drives and dividing rotation speed into two ranges low speeds and high speeds, when it's important to have higher rotation speeds (using servo drive as spindle) the motion controller will use speed controlling mode but when it's important to use small values of rotation speeds (using servo drive as feed drive) then it's better to use position controlling mode to ensure the accuracy of the position and minimize the value of errors. Also, it is evidently that the traffic load on CAN bus will affect the stability and the accuracy of controlling CAN servo step drives. The aim of this work is to develop a motion controller that supports dynamically change of controlling strategies of CAN servo step drives depending on rotation speed, additionally will clarify how to reduce CAN bus traffic load.
