Renewable energy management and conditioning system for distributed generation (DG) has been a promising research topic due to the advantages on efficiency, energy quality and environmental effects. Recently, it has been emerged as an efficient tool to meet the demand by residential loads. There have been presented numerous studies about the integration of DG units with hybrid configurations of energy storage systems and renewable sources to supply the domestic loads via single phase inverters. In this paper, a novel operation strategy of a single phase inverter for DG systems has been proposed. The essential point of the proposed strategy has been based on to generate a rectified sinusoidal waveform on DC bus contrary to the conventional methods. The proposed operation strategy has been tested on Matlab ® /Simulink environment and then it has been verified by an experimental study.

In order to show the handling ability of 16-bit microcontrollers of the Siemens C166-family. The controller for electric bicycle of Rare Earth Permanent Magnet Brushless DC Motor (BLDCM) based on Siemens C164-class is developed. The control method used in the speed adjustment of DC Motor is the armature voltage control law that changes armature terminal voltage. This system is implemented with pulse wide modulation (PWM) and the principle of microcontroller control. The microcontroller C164CI is used to control the system. The reliability of the system is enhanced by using the microcontroller, and high efficiency and energy saving are achieved.

In this paper, sensorless speed control of permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) with an Extended Kalman Filter (EKF) based observer is performed. The general model of the PMSM and EKF algorithm are presented. Simulation studies are carried out using MATLAB/Simulink, in order to explore effectiveness and usability of EKF in sensorless PMSM drive for washing machine applications. In order to investigate performance of proposed system in real conditions, real torque profile of a washing machine is used. Simulation results illustrate that the proposed system is quite effective for washing machine applications and robust against variations of motor parameters.
