This study investigates the application of machine learning (ML) techniques in predicting Psychological Well-being outcomes, emphasizing the use of ensemble methods like AdaBoost and Random Forest for enhanced accuracy. With Psychological well-being issues affecting a significant portion of the global population, traditional assessment methods are challenged by issues of accessibility, stigma, and subjectivity. Leveraging data from various surveys, this research compares different ML algorithms, including Logistic Regression and Support Vector Machines, in predicting psychological well-being conditions. The results highlight the superior performance of AdaBoost and Random Forest, particularly when hyperparameters are finely tuned, achieving accuracies up to 0.996. The study underscores the potential of ML in improving psychological well-being interventions by offering precise, unbiased, and accessible diagnostic tools. Future research directions include the integration of multimodal data and the development of models that can suggest personalized treatment plans while ensuring data privacy. This paper advocates for the integration of advanced computational techniques with clinical insights to revolutionize psychological well-being diagnostics and care. © 2024 IEEE.

The movement changes the underlying spatial representation of the participated mobile objects or nodes. In real-world scenarios, such mobile nodes can be part of any biological network, transportation network, social network, human interaction, etc. The change in the geometry leads to the change in various desirable properties of real-world networks, especially in human interaction networks. In real life, human movement is concerned with a better lifestyle where they form their new connections due to the geographical changes. Therefore, in this paper, we design a model for geometric networks with mobile nodes (GNMN) and conduct a comprehensive statistical analysis of their properties. We analyze the effect of node mobility by evaluating key network metrics such as connectivity, node degree distribution, second-hop neighbors, and centrality measures. Through extensive simulations, we observe significant variations in the behavior of geometric networks with mobile nodes. © 2024 IEEE.

We introduce in this paper an AI-based dynamic network slicing model for resource allocation targeting 5G networks. It does this by using machine learning algorithms that help the model learn and adapt to live traffic conditions so as to intelligently manage different service types, including eMBB (enhanced Mobile Broadband), URLLC (Ultra-Reliable Low Latency Communication) and mMTC (massive Machine Type Communication). This leads to substantial improvements in three of the four core performance metrics, latency, throughput and energy efficiency (at a low sacrifice of when it comes to QoS adherence). Their work also demonstrates that AI technologies hold the promise for revolutionary network management, offering a scalable solution that can address ever-increasing requirements of next-generation telecommunications, by surpassing the capabilities of well-established static slicing techniques. © 2024 IEEE.

Sign language is the communication medium that is utilized by the hearing-impaired community. The medium is visual and it uses hand signs and symbols for communication. Over 300 different types of sign languages present in the world today. Sign language uses gestures and hand movements for the majority of the words and finger spellings for the rest. Nonverbal speakers face a lot of challenges while interacting with verbal speakers. Even non-verbal speakers who speak different sign languages face difficulties communicating with each other. This project proposes an enhanced real-time system which detects gestures and finger spellings of multiple sign languages, and translates them into multiple spoken languages. The proposed system aims to utilize CNN network for finger spelling recognition and Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) network for gesture interpretation. The system will use computer vision for accurate gesture detection and Google Translator API for recognizing signs which will be translated into multiple spoken languages. Initial tests with isolated datasets indicate promising accuracy for both finger spelling and gesture recognition. The goal of the completed system is to help aid communication between verbal and non-verbal speakers and to provide an efficient mode of communication between the two communities. © 2025 IEEE.

Dementia is considered a Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI), representing a blurred transition from normal cognitive function to dementia. MCI might be a precursor to dementia being caused by various neurodegenerative diseases, including Alzheimer's disease, stroke, metabolic disorders, and mental health conditions. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), over 55 million people worldwide are suffering from dementia, with nearly 10 million new cases each year. This number is expected to rise to 78 million by 2030. Numerous studies have proposed various training methods targeting specific cognitive domains in dementia. For instance, reminiscence therapy encourages individuals to recall buried memories, while reality orientation therapy focuses on strengthening orientation cues to help patients with dementia establish a stronger sense of control. With aging, changes occur in cognitive and physical functions. Research suggests that memory functions can be improved through training. Therefore, the primary goal of this study was to develop an Extended Reality (XR) cognitive system to assist MCI patients in enhancing logical thinking, increasing independence in daily life, and improving response accuracy. The application of extended reality technology in the medical field is expanding, covering areas such as surgical assistance, medical consultation, disease treatment, and medical training. We integrated mixed reality devices with brain-computer interface (BCI) equipment. By detecting brainwave signals in the frontal region of the brain through sensors, neural activity was quantified, and digital brainwave data was transmitted to the system. This data was then visualized on screen in real-time to analyze changes in brainwave data during training. Through multifaceted task training, the system enhanced cognitive response and sensory perception, stimulating brain activity with the goal of strengthening cognitive functions. © 2024 IEEE.

Current 2D and 3D semantic segmentation frameworks are developed and trained on specific benchmark datasets, often rich of synthetic data, and when they are applied to complex and real-world heritage scenarios they offer much lower accuracy than expected. In this work, we present and demonstrate an early and late fusion of methods for semantic segmentation in cultural heritage applications. We rely on image datasets, point clouds and BIM models. The early fusion utilizes multi-view rendering to generate RGBD imagery of the scene. In contrast, the late fusion approach merges image-based segmentation with a Point Transformer applied to point clouds. Two scenarios are considered and inference results show that predictions are primarily influenced by whether the scene has a predominantly geometric or texture-based signature, underscoring the necessity of fusion methods. © 2024 International Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing. Fuzzy-rule-decided small cell offloading for rate-adaptive SVC-DASH video streaming over the vehicle environment

This paper proposed an SVC-DASH video streaming method over the vehicular environment based on the Multi-access Edge Computing (MEC) architecture. For the streaming concern, a control scheme using the Segment-Set-based buffer-aware bitrate adaptation with the backward quality's increment control was proposed;for the mobility concern, a Small Cell Video Streaming Offloading (SC–VSO) control scheme adopting the multiple attribute fuzzy-based decision for deciding whether it can offload the video streaming traffic from a macro cell to a small cell or not was proposed. To have the suitable bitrate adaptation and stable quality variation, three factors that the proposed streaming control scheme considers are (i) estimated bandwidth, (ii) buffer occupancy and (iii) quality variation. Since the vehicle is moving across many types of Base Stations (BSs), the proposed mobility control scheme can decide whether to have SC-VSO or not before vehicle X entering into the ahead small cell's signal coverage based on (i) the network situations of the corresponding macro and small cell and (ii) the reported context from vehicle X using the proposed fuzzy logic mechanism. The performance evaluation results shown that the proposed method has the higher video quality and better quality stability for video streaming over the vehicle environment. © 2023 Elsevier B.V.

This research investigates the feasibility of utilizing Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (MANETs) in conjunction with Raspberry Pi-equipped Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) swarms. The primary objective is to overcome the limitations of traditional communication infrastructures in dynamic and decentralized environments. Specifically, we address the challenge of establishing reliable and efficient communication links within a swarm of UAVs engaged in various applications, including disaster response, military reconnaissance, and environmental monitoring. By integrating Raspberry Pi devices with UAVs, we aim to create a self-organizing communication network that enables seamless data transmission, coordinated swarm operations, and enhanced mission effectiveness. The research explores different synchronization strategies, including master-slave and decentralized approaches, to optimize swarm coordination. Furthermore, we investigate the potential of incorporating advanced technologies such as machine learning, computer vision, and swarm intelligence to further enhance the autonomy, adaptability, and overall performance of the UAV swarm. © 2025 IEEE.

Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) face significant challenges in terms of energy conservation, scalability, and data throughput owing to their limited node energy resources. This paper presents a low-energy data-centric algorithm (LEDCA), a novel energy-aware clustering and routing protocol designed to optimize energy efficiency and improve throughput in WSNs. Through simulations, LEDCA demonstrated a Packet Delivery Ratio (PDR) of up to 90%, throughput of 255,217 bps, and average latency of 159 ms, validating its efficiency in resource-constrained environments. The algorithm integrates residual energy awareness by prioritizing high-energy nodes for Cluster Head (CH) roles, dynamically adjusting routing paths, and balancing the network load to prevent premature node failure. By applying an Energy Mapping Node and a real-time Energy Mapping Table, LEDCA minimizes re-clustering, reduces data redundancy, and ensures stable data transmission even under high-density networks. Simulation results also show LEDCA's scalability of LEDCA, with A9_T_200 achieving the highest throughput under extended transmission ranges and A3_T_200 achieving the lowest latency, making it suitable for energy-sensitive and latency-critical applications. Future enhancements, such as integrating Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access (NOMA) and dynamic resource allocation, could further improve LEDCA’s interference management and scalability of LEDCA for IoT and 5G/6G networks, addressing the needs of next-generation applications. © 2025 IEEE.

Cybersecurity safeguards computer systems, net- works, and digital information from a wide variety of cyber-attacks. Its major purpose is to protect the privacy of users' data and resources while maintaining their integrity and making them accessible in the digital world. Cybersecurity is an area that receives investment from businesses, individuals, and governments all around the world in order to secure sensitive information, key infrastructure, and digital assets. Protection of Sensitive Information Both individuals and businesses store huge amounts of sensitive information digitally, including personal data, financial records, intellectual property, and trade secrets. This information must be protected in order to prevent unauthorized access or disclosure. The protection provided by cybersecurity prevents this information from being stolen, exposed, or accessed without authorization. Cyberattacks can result in severe financial losses, including theft of funds, fraud, and the expenditures associated with recovering from a cyber incident. It is possible to prevent these types of losses by taking preventative measures. Implementing these strategies helps prevent losses of this nature. In this paper, we propose a system architecture of a generic secure system, which can be deployed for various applications, i.e., smart healthcare, Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS), smart city, etc. We discuss the threats and attacks in cyberspace. Then, we explain the requirements of cybersecurity. Further, we discuss the devastation in the absence of cyber security. We also explain the cybersecurity deployments and techniques under cybersecurity. Then, in the end, some future research directions for cybersecurity are provided. © 2024 IEEE.
