A CAPTCHA is used to reduce the misuse in the case of rising automated bots or software systems and also to avoid any corruption of the web services. The Captcha is used as solving a turing test problem by the users, before they get access to the software system. The paper discusses about the model that extracts the alphanumeric characters from either of audio or text-based captchas. Finally, the model's performance is found based on different parameters like accuracy level, specificity, precision etc. © 2023 IEEE.

Memristor, also known as Resistive Random Access Memory (ReRAM), enables in-memory computing by processing data directly within storage locations, thus mitigating the data transfer bottleneck between the processor and memory in high-speed applications. However, existing methods for implementing addition of two n-bit operands within ReRAM/memristor crossbar structures do not ensure minimal device utilization or minimal ReRAM/memristor read-write cycles. In this paper, we propose a novel approach for implementing n-bit addition in ReRAM crossbars to optimize the usage of the ReRAM device and minimize read-write cycles. We develop the ReRAM Sequence Graph (ReSG) to efficiently represent adder functionality and systematically allocate ReRAM devices to ReSG nodes. Furthermore, we present a scheduling mechanism for implementing ReSG nodes within ReRAM crossbars, accelerating the execution of the addition operation. Experimental evaluations show that our method surpasses current approaches, achieving better device utilization and reduced read-write cycles. © 2024 IEEE.

Worldwide, breast cancer is becoming the most serious illness that affects women. It is believed that early diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer can increase survival rates and decrease the need for surgery. Machine Learning model is very reliant on features for their proper training. However, understanding how a prediction is being affected by specific features is very important for a model’s interpretation. Understanding what features support a prediction is important as it provides some transparency to the inner workings of the model. Gaussian Naive Bayes (GNB), Decision Tree (DT), Random Forest (RF), K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN), and Support Vector Machine (SVM) are used to classify the breast cancer data, and accuracy, sensitivity, specificity, false-positive rate, precision, F1-score, and Geometric-Mean (GM) are used for the performance assessment. Furthermore, Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) is used to evaluate overall performance assessment based on the aforementioned performance measures and DT is found to be best among all the classifiers. Finally, an Explainable AI model namely LIME is used to interpret the predicted outcomes and impact of the different features of the data on the model’s prediction. © 2024 IEEE.

Ridesharing systems have become an important part of urban transportation. At the same time, electric vehicle (EV) adoption is also growing at a fast pace as an eco-friendly and sustainable transportation option. To operate a ridesharing system with EV fleets, scheduling an EV fleet to serve passenger requests requires consideration of both the requests, and the available charge and potential future charge requirements of the EVs. In this paper, we address the problem of scheduling EVs by a ridesharing operator, and propose four algorithms that schedule passenger requests while taking into consideration charging requirements of the EVs. Cloud computing enables on-demand computation on remote servers and computers. Thanks to the adaptability and scalability of the infrastructure for data storage, processing, and management. To solve the security problems arising in cloud identity management techniques such as, dependency on a third-party token provider, leakage of user's details, single point of failure, etc., decentralized cloud identity management systems came into the picture. Blockchain is a decentralized database providing immutability and transparency to recorded transaction data. The current token-based decentralized cloud identity management systems have limitations, including the absence of data access management procedures and a lack of security features. This paper suggests a Blockchain based Secure Cloud Identity and Access Management (BSCIAM) model for secure identity and access management, utilizing encryption and key sharing techniques. The proposed model has been implemented using Ethereum smart contracts for token-based identity management. © 2024 IEEE.

The evaluation of acoustic performance during the initial stages of architectural design, integrated with consideration of material selection and material economic implications, is essential for sustainable design. The research paper investigates the acoustic performance of architectural spaces, and how it affects economic resources in the regard to building materials and their cost. Units' spaces of a housing project are utilized as case studies. Acoustic analysis and calculations are performed to explore different strategies of acoustic insulation materials. The research paper employs qualitative analysis of the acoustic performance of the residential unit spaces. The research paper proceeds to conduct statistical analysis of the used building materials in terms of saving economic resources. The research paper concludes to form basis to improve the indoor acoustic environments of the case-study spaces according to the space function and the occupant needs. © 2024 IEEE.

Recently, emotion analysis from online handwriting and drawings has become an important research topic. This study aims to determine the optimal model combination using dynamic and statistical features obtained from handwriting and drawings for detecting emotional states. The feature vectors are derived from physical (kinematic), statistical and signal processing (spectral, cepstral and frequency domain) analyses. To address the class imbalance problem, ADASYN (Adaptive Synthetic Sampling) and Tomek Links methods were applied together. In this way, the number of samples of the minority class has been increased, while over-sampled classes have been reduced. Dimensionality reduction was realized using PCA, and Gradient Boosting Classifier (GBC) feature selection. After determining the fewest and most effective features, the samples were classified using the two-level stacking ensemble method. eXtreme Gradient Boosting (XGBoost), Light Gradient-Boosting Machine (LightGBM), GBC, Random Forest (RF) methods are selected for base and meta models. Model and hyperparameter optimization was carried out by Optuna frameork. The performance of the models is evaluated through experiments in publicly available EMOTion recognition from HAndWriting and draWing (EMOTHAW) database. The aim was to determine the emotional states of depression, anxiety and stress with the data obtained from 7 different drawing/writing tasks of 129 people. The results obtained from accuracy, f1-score, precision and recall metrics show that the model provides remarkable performance. © 2024 IEEE.

Deepfake technology, known for its ability to produce convincingly face-swapped videos, presents significant risks to privacy, security, and public trust. Misuse of this technology for spreading misinformation, defamation, and influencing politics is on the rise, creating a pressing need for more effective detection mechanisms. As deepfake generation methods continue to advance, conventional detection techniques are increasingly unable to keep up, often falling short in accuracy and adaptability. This project aims to create an AI-driven detection system specialized in identifying face-swap deepfakes. The system focuses on subtle irregularities in facial details, movements, and the synchronization between audio and visuals. Employing neural network models such as Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs), Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) networks, and Capsule Networks, it pinpoints anomalies like unnatural expressions, atypical skin textures, and lighting inconsistencies. The system achieves high reliability with metrics including accuracy (96%), precision (95%), recall (94%), and F1 score (95%), showing marked improvement compared to traditional techniques. It outperforms existing methods such as XceptionNet (92%) on the Celeb-DF dataset, underscoring its superior generalizability and robustness. This scalable solution has broad applications in media, law enforcement, and cybersecurity, reinforcing efforts to combat deepfake threats and fostering improved trust and security across various sectors. © 2025 IEEE.

The research paper presents a method to employ building information modelling (BIM) in facilities management (FM) to optimize space function distribution. The research paper provides insights into the use of BIM (7D model) in FM strategies, aiming to enhance FM operations overall and, more specifically, space function distribution. The methodology bridges the gap in FM processes through two complementary analyses: mathematical analysis and 7D model-based analysis. A mall case study is employed to highlight the method effectiveness. This research opens up new avenues for the application of FM processes, utilizing real-time data and 7D BIM models. © 2024 IEEE.

Music surrounds us, and there is no denying that music in visual media can shape and evoke emotions. Yet, understanding how musical preference influences emotions through audio and visual stimuli remains an important task. To address this task, we investigated the role of musical preference effect on perceived emotions induced through music and visual stimuli (i.e., animation), using a 7-point scale for valence-arousal ratings and physiological responses in electroencephalogram (EEG) band power. The perceived emotions are categorized into four states: happiness, calmness, fear, and sadness. One emotional state contains 4 sessions: (1) Preferred Music, (2) Unfamiliar Music, (3) Preferred Music+Animation, and (4) Unfamiliar Music+ Animation. Behavior-wise, the rating results showed that the presence of preferred music resulted in higher perceived valence ratings, particularly in happiness. However, no stimulus had a significant effect on perceived arousal ratings and satisfaction ratings. Physiologically, the EEG indexes showed that the presence of preferred music appears to affect an increase in alpha power across various emotions except sadness, whereas unfamiliar music seems to affect beta power, particularly in happiness and calmness. Overall, these findings supported that musical preference is an affective factor reflecting the levels of valence and alpha power in EEG. Nevertheless, our findings did not confirm a significant difference between only preferred music and combining it with animation. Interestingly, we also found that participants were more likely to be attracted to and perceive positive (i.e., happiness and calmness) emotions easily through preferred music and/or visual stimuli than negative (i.e., fear) emotions. © 2024 IEEE.
