Scale-free network and consensus among multiple agents have both drawn quite much attention. To investigate the consensus speed over scale-free networks is the main topic in this paper. Given a set of different values for the power-law distribution parameter γ, and a set of different values for the minimum degree ( d min ) for the nodes, the algebraic connectivity (λ 2 ) of the network topology is studied, as well as the time ( t c ) (or iteration ( k c ), for discrete algorithm) taken to reach consensus. The results exhibit that λ 2 decreases while γ increases. The λ 2 increases monotonically as d min grows, and they fit very well in a linear relationship. t c (or k c ) decreases as γ reduces and d min increases. Via observing the behavior of the largest eigenvalue (λ n ) of the Laplacian of the network topology, we draw the conclusion that the robustness over time delays declines while the robustness over node-failures and edge-failures increases.

A hierarchical Nonlinear Model Predictive control (NMPC) scheme with guaranteed Input-to-State-practical-Stability (ISpS) is proposed. The controller is formed by an Integral Sliding Mode (ISM) controller and a NMPC one. The ISM, relying on the knowledge of the nominal continuous-time model of the system and of the piecewise constant control signal generated by the NMPC produces a control action aimed at reducing the difference between the dynamics of the nominal closed-loop system and the actual evolution of the state. The NMPC in this way can be designed based on a system with reduced uncertainty. In order to prove the stability of the overall control scheme, some general Regional ISpS results for continuous-time systems are proven.

Sampled data provided by a process are usually corrupted by various noises. Although data are required to be denoised before applying any further processing, the corrupting noises could encode a part of desired information. A partial denoising is suitable in this case, as part of pre-processing procedure. Another requirement frequently used in data pre-processing is to compress the useful information in a smaller number of data. Partial denoising and compression are gathered in the concept of "signal compaction". Structures with inverse model represent one of the successful solutions for the real-time control of the nonlinear processes. The use of these structures imposes solving some specific problems, like determination of static characteristic of the process, construction of inverse model or robust control law design. The paper proposes a structure and the correspondent original methodology of designing and physically implementation based on inverse model command. The applicability of the structure is proved using a real-time structure with an RST control algorithm. In the end, its software implementation and the obtained results are also shown.

This paper proposes a robust algorithm for detecting interest points based on the NonsubSampled Contourlet Transform (NSCT). The NSCT provides multiscale decomposition with directional filters at each scale. Furthermore, NSCT is very efficient in extracting the geometric information of images and therefore it has very good feature localization. The NSCT-based point detector is compared to the widely used Harris and Difference of Gaussian (DoG) interest point detectors. The experimental results reveal the robustness of the proposed algorithm to rotation, scale and viewpoint changes.

The aim of this paper is to obtain a model for an in-scale fast-ferry model TF-120 including the dynamics and kinematics, using a remote experimentation platform for marine vehicles. The physical model is autonomous and is controlled remotely from a PC using Wi-Fi communications. The identification and validation of the dynamical model is obtained with turning circle maneuverings. In this model are included the kinematical equations. The tests with the autonomous in-scale physical model of the high-speed ship were carried out in the surroundings of the Bay of Santander. To better identify the objects in remote sensing images, the multispectral images with high spectral resolution and low spatial resolution, and the panchromatic images with high spatial resolution and low spectral resolution need to be fused. Many fusion techniques are discussed in the recent years to obtain images with high spectral resolution and also high spatial resolution. In this paper an image fusion technique, based on integrating both the Intensity-Hue-Saturation (IHS) and the Discrete Wavelet Frame Transform (DWFT), is proposed for boosting the quality of remote sensing images. A panchromatic and multispectral image from Landsat-7(ETM+) satellite has been fused using this new approach. Experimental results show that the proposed technique improves the spectral and spatial qualities of the fused images. Moreover, when this technique is applied to noisy and de-noised remote sensing images it can preserve the quality of the fused images. Comparison analyses between different fusion techniques are also presented and show that the proposed technique outperforms the other techniques.
