This paper proposes a mashup framework for creating flexible mashup applications in which the user can selectively browse through mashup items. Our framework provides a data management eng.ne for on-demand data generation, and GUI components called widgets that can be used to browse through mashed-up data selectively. The application developer has to only prepare a mashup relation specifying the web service combinations and widget configurations specifying how to display the mashed-up data. On the basis of these configurations, widgets monitor user interactions and requests data from the data management eng.ne that processes the demand-driven creation of mashed-up data. To enable selective browsing, a table widget, for instance, allows selection of columns to be displayed, provides a limited view with scroll bars, and filtering facilities. Our framework also offers a mechanism for widget coordination where a widget can change the display target according to states or events of other widgets. We introduce a sample application for tour planning using five cooperative widgets, and discuss the usability and performance advantages of our framework. Copyright 2008 ACM.

This paper describes model-based, active control of an aftertreatment system for a spark ignition eng.ne equipped with a three-way catalyst (TWC) and pre- and post-TWC oxygen sensors. A controller is designed to manage the oxygen storage level in the TWC in order to maximize the simultaneous conversion efficiencies of oxides of nitrogen, NOx, unburned hydrocarbons, HC, and carbon monoxide, CO. Linear exhaust gas oxygen sensors (UEGOs) are used to measure pre- and post-catalyst A/F. The pre-catalyst A/F measurement is assumed to be biased in addition to being corrupted by zero-mean noise, while the post-catalyst measurement is assumed to be only corrupted by zero-mean noise. A series controller configuration is adopted. The upstream controller provides relatively rapid response to disturbances on the basis of the pre-catalyst measurement, while the downstream controller uses an extended Kalman filter (observer) to estimate the relative oxygen level of the TWC on the basis of the pre- and post-catalyst A/F measurements. The estimated value of oxygen storage is then used to regulate the relative oxygen level of the TWC to 50%. The performance and robustness of the proposed control system in the face of noise and model uncertainty are evaluated through extensive simulations.

An algorithm to extract the semantic video object in the first frame of a video sequence is proposed. The extracted closed object contour provides an accurate video object model for automatic object extraction in the following frames. Two polygons are input by the user to specify the area in which the object boundary is located. In this paper, we describe split-path domino (SP domino) logic which is capable of high speed due to the magnitude of the charge sharing problem being halved. SP domino logic splits the NMOS stacked transistors used for logic evaluation, in order to reduce charge sharing problem, which has become one of the most critical noise problems in VDSM technology. Furthermore, SP domino logic needs no signal ordering. Dual Vt assignment methodology for SP domino logic was also proposed, in order to provide improved performance with low power consumption overhead. Our experimental results, with several logic gates using 0.18um CMOS technology, showed that the proposed logic provides an improvement in performance of up to 17% compared to the textbook domino circuit, under the same noisy conditions. Hence, SP domino logic is a good candidate for high-speed low-voltage operation in a very noisy environment.
