While reward-based crowdfunding platforms centered like Kickstarter in the United States, allow entrepreneurs or well-off investors like industrial owners to gather assets and seek patron support, they have evolved into an option for generating funds via an internet platform. Conversely, these crowdfunding initiatives pose innovation challenges due to the uncertainty of receiving support and success. Both project developers and supporters may benefit from it for better knowledge and more accurate forecasting of project success. Analyzing a completed project information, this study aims to identify critical success characteristics of crowdfunding. It investigates the effectiveness of wide-and-deep learning in predicting models. These findings can help fundraisers understand the likelihood of successful fundraising initiatives. © 2023 IEEE.

To directly investigate the dynamic nanoscale phenomenon on the surface being processed in wet conditions such as precision polishing, and cleaning in semiconductor industrial, an optical method for visualization and observation of each sub-100 nm sized particle that is moving on an interface such as a silica glass surface by applying an evanescent field have been proposing. Subsequently, we developed an experimental apparatus equipped with an optical microscopy system for verifying the moving particle observation method in a laboratory scale. This article introduces some experimentally direct observation results of duplicated wet processes. © 2024 IEEE.

A low-cost 2D LiDAR sensor and a near real-Time data processing algorithm are used in this study to capture the as-built geometry of the freshly printed layers for inline and automated inspection. The accuracy of the proposed system is evaluated under different conditions and layer dimensions. Based on the obtained results, significant improvements were observed after a statistical approach was used for outlier detection and elimination. Maximum error values of less than 1.1 mm were achieved for inline layer width and height measurements using the proposed approach. © International Conference on Computing in Civil engineering *** rights reserved.

An effective education system transforms the teaching and learning process into innovative idea generation and independent working ability. A blended education system is the representation of effective education that connects the teachers, students, and educational institutions for content development, delivery of effective teaching methods, and choice-based learning. The motive for initiating the research work was to address the demand for outcome-based learning in society that can fulfill the sector-wise human resource requirements and sector skill development. A blended education system helps to design effective courses and degrees with the capacity of choosing subjects, lectures, and teachers either in online or offline mode of education. The system may also assist in preparing the learning pattern like classroom-based learning, internship-based learning, or learning through project works. The researchers identified the dependent and independent variables with the help of expert opinion. The questionnaire was designed with all relevant questions based on the variables and refined through a pilot study. The research outcomes are described by understanding the nature of quantitative data using statistical tools like frequency distribution, t-test, and ANOVA test with the connectivity of qualitative data and the reality of social issues. © 2023 IEEE.

The COVID pandemic is causing outrageous interference in everyday life and financial activity. Close to two years after the presence of COVID, WHO allotted the variety B.l.l.529 a variety of concern, named 'Omicron'. Online diversion data assessment is created and transformed into a more renowned subject of investigation. In this paper, a sizably voluminous heap of appraisals and assessments are culminated with online redirection information. The evaluations and appearances of Twitter electronic diversion stage clients are summarised and researched by considering sentiment analysis by utilising various natural language processing techniques based on positive, negative, and neutral tweets. All potential outcomes are considered for investigating the feelings of Twitter clients. For the most part, tweets are assessed clearly, and this assessment ensures the headway of this investigation study. Different kinds of analyzers are utilised and measured. The 'TextBlob Sentiment Analyzer' has given the highest polarity score based on positivity, negativity, and neutrality rates in terms of inspiration, pessimism, and impartiality. A total dataset is fully determined and classified with all the analyzers, and a comparative result is also measured to find the ideal analyzer. It is intended to apply boosting machine learning methods to increase the accuracy of the proposed architecture before further implementation. © 2022 IEEE.

As reported by the American National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), sleep while driving is one of the most influential factors in fatal vehicle crashes, along with excessive vehicle speed and alcohol consumption. Physiologically speaking, driving for more than two hours in a nocturnal environment produces a driving impairment like a blood alcohol concentration of 0.05%. In this work, we present an innovative and patented sleep prediction method based on the analysis of the Autonomic Nervous System (ANS) (and its subsystems) that monitors the actions happening during the transition from awake to sleep onset. The prediction method processes the Heart Rate (HR) and the Heart Rate Variability (HRV) as collected by a wearable device on the subject wrist. Using a sliding window approach that operates on 20 seconds of samples (acquired at 1 Hz), the trend of the variance of HR and HRV is used to classify the subject condition according to a reduced Karolinska Sleepiness Scale (rKSS) that comprises five stages: Calibration, Awake, Low Drowsiness level, Medium Drowsiness level, High Drowsiness level. The prediction method has been validated experimentally using a set of recordings acquired in a realistic environment (AVL dynamic car simulator, in Graz (AT)). During the experiments, 15 subjects performed several rounds of the Maintenance Wakefulness Test (MWT). Each subject was equipped with a wearable device and apolysomnography medical equipment to gather both the data processed by the proposed approach, and the data set that constituted the ground truth under the supervision of a sleep expert medical doctor. A further experimental section has been conducted, involving the Italian truck company Chrono Express. 15 different drivers have utilized the built-up system for more than 13000 km. In this paper, a novel nonlinear current-limiting controller that maintains the desired power balance in a hybrid microgrid, is proposed for interlinking converters (ICs). The RMS value of the IC current is analytically proven to remain below a desired maximum value at all times using nonlinear ultimate boundedness theory, without limiting separately the d- and q-axis current components and without using adaptive saturation units, as done in conventional approaches. Furthermore, the stability of the closed loop system is investigated through root locus analysis for different values of the controller gain. Finally, the performance of the proposed control scheme is validated through detailed simulation results of an interlinking converter connected to both an AC and a DC subgrid. © 2022 IEEE.

Healthcare is a global pillar, with a surge in the adoption of information technology, particularly in hospital information systems (HIS). However, global protocols are needed to meet the growing demand for data interchange, practical implementations for sharing healthcare data among facilities, and a pressing need for processing and storage infrastructure to handle the escalating volume of healthcare data. This study proposes a solution for efficient data transmission using electronic health records (EHR) and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) to leverage cloud computing resources. This framework's architecture boasts robustness and adaptability, providing all registered software programs access to data interchange services. Through a comprehensive examination of the framework's structure, the essay also explores the most effective data-sharing methods. It identifies the healthcare system's optimal EHR data model. According to multiple healthcare experts, the operational building of this framework is expected to catalyze the growth of healthcare institutions both nationally and within specific industries. © 2024 The Authors. Road accidents are a major concern worldwide. Research of technological solutions to improve road safety is an open topic, considering this issue from various perspectives. As widely reported in the literature, driver distraction is one of the most common causes of collisions. Even if vehicles are becoming safer and safer over the years, pedestrians and cyclists are still exposed to severe accidents. Major concerns about driver distraction is mobile phone use and drowsy driving. This paper proposes a virtual buddy designed to help drivers, thanks to warning sound messages, improve their attention level. The main idea is to recognize, thanks to different sources (video camera, physiological data, and interior environmental conditions) interpreted by a data-fusion algorithm, whenever there is a distracted or drowsy behavior, recalling the driver to the road. The effectiveness of the data-fusion algorithm in detecting dangerous conditions has been verified thanks to a driving simulator experimentally, obtaining no false negatives from distraction from drowsiness, a sensitivity of about 85% for the distraction caused by mobile phone usage or other activities different from focusing on driving. © 2023 IEEE.

This paper presents a lightweight AXI DMA controller architecture useful for embedded systems that do not require fully featured DMA controllers. Simulation is accomplished with VUnit, and implementation results are obtained on a Xilinx XC7Z010CLG400-1 FPGA. When compared with Xilinx's AXI DMA controller with the same configuration, the presented controller utilizes between 16 and 82% fewer resources with comparable speed. © 2023 IEEE.
