One of the greatest scientific challenges in network neuroscience is to create a representative map of a population of heterogeneous brain networks, which acts as a connectional fingerprint. The connectional brain template (CBT), also named network atlas, presents a powerful tool for capturing the most representative and discriminative traits of a given population while preserving its topological patterns. The idea of a CBT is to integrate a population of heterogeneous brain connectivity networks, derived from different neuroimaging modalities or brain views (e.g., structural and functional), into a unified holistic representation. Here we review current state-of-the-art methods designed to estimate well-centered and representative CBT for populations of single-view and multi-view brain networks. We start by reviewing each CBT learning method, then we introduce the evaluation measures to compare CBT representativeness of populations generated by single-view and multigraph integration methods, separately, based on the following criteria: centeredness, biomarker-reproducibility, node-level similarity, global-level similarity, and distance-based similarity. We demonstrate that the deep graph normalizer (DGN) method significantly outperforms other multi-graph and all single-view integration methods for estimating CBTs using a variety of healthy and disordered datasets in terms of centeredness, reproducibility (i.e., graph-derived biomarkers reproducibility that disentangle the typical from the atypical connectivity variability), and preserving the topological traits at both local and global graph-levels. © 2022, CC BY-NC-ND.

The proliferation of the Internet of Things (IoT) has ushered in a transformative era of connected devices, emphasizing the critical need for effective resource management. This study introduces an innovative approach that harnesses Evolutionary and Swarm Intelligence algorithms for IoT Task Scheduling, addressing resource optimization challenges. The approach offers superior resource utilization through advanced optimization techniques, reducing energy consumption and enhancing efficiency. Furthermore, it significantly reduces task scheduling execution time, enabling prompt decision-making in dynamic IoT environments. This results in improved task allocation quality, meeting application-specific requirements, and prioritizing critical tasks. Notably, the approach excels in minimizing completion time, making it particularly advantageous for real-time IoT applications. This research contributes to the advancement of IoT resource management, offering an adaptive, efficient, and intelligent solution with broad applicability. In the evolving landscape of IoT, the findings presented here lay a solid foundation for future research and practical implementations, ultimately promoting more responsive, sustainable, and intelligent IoT ecosystems. © 2023 IEEE.

Uzbek language is an agglutinative language and has many derivational suffixes. New words can be derived by adding derivational suffixes to nouns, adjectives, verbs and adverb roots. In this paper, it is shown which derivational suffix or suffixes can be used to produce words with a certain meaning. When adding a derivational suffix to a root word, the phonologic features of Uzbek are taken into consideration; Necessary sound changes are made. The aim of this paper is to show which derivational suffix or suffixes can be used to derive new words in a certain sense and to create the algorithm and flow diagrams required for the computer program to perform this process.

MIL-STD-1553 is a communication standard developed by the US DoD in 1975 and used in military aircraft, land, and space vehicles. It enables computers and devices to interact with each other. MIL-STD-1553 is used in safety-critical systems due to its dual redundant bus structure, high reliability, and low fault rate. While the standard was considered to be secure when it was developed, MIL-STD-1553-based systems have become vulnerable and they are an easy target for attackers. In this research, we propose a new anomaly-based intrusion detection system for MIL-STD-1553 that uses machine learning for classification purposes. We experimentally evaluated the proposed system against cyber attacks. We observed that Stochastic Gradient Descent provides adequate results for the detection of intrusions on the MIL-STD-1553 bus. Overall experimental results show that the proposed system can be used to detect intrusions on MIL-STD-1553-based communications.

Hearing loss impacts over 5% of the world's population, a percent rising due to aging populations, noise exposure, and chronic health conditions. To address this, we developed a non-invasive hearing device designed for individuals with hearing challenges that limit the use of hearing aids. The proposed device integrates a set of Bluetooth headphones with a smartphone, that process the ambient sound in real time through a software application and delivers to the hear impaired patient via bone conduction, bypassing traditional auditory pathways. Laboratory tests confirmed that the proposed device effectively replicates auditory perception. The developed device offers an accessible and user-friendly alternative to patients who cannot use traditional hearing aids.

Cardiac conditions are one of the leading causes of death worldwide. To address this, we designed a model that can detect cardiac conditions from a patient's electrocardiogram (ECG). This will convert the 1D ECG signal into a 2D scalogram using wavelet transforms with Morlet wavelets. With the help of a network based on the AlexNet convolutional neural network, it distinguishes between a normal ECG signal and one indicative of arrhythmia or congestive heart failure. The resulting model performs well, achieving a classification accuracy of 92.20% and providing a robust approach for detecting cardiac conditions.

5G Networks are considered as a new evolution since it aims to increase the wireless capacity 1000 times the previous generations. By 2025, it is expected that 5G will be connecting around 3 billion people and 41.6 billion devices enabling the Internet of Things (IoT) and the Internet of Everything (IoE) while increasing energy efficiency 90% more than 4G and reducing 20% of carbon emissions. In this paper, the deployment requirements and challenges of 5G Networks are reviewed. Starting with the overall network architecture and network slicing framework including the service-type slicing and the infrastructure slicing are investigated. Later, the spectrum and multiple access techniques are explained. Finally, the challenges and the available solutions have been discussed. © 2022 IEEE.

The problem of non-collocated vibration absorption is targeted utilizing a multiparameter delay-based controller. The combined objective is to achieve closed-loop stability and vibration suppression at a target location, which is different from the position of the absorber. This problem can be translated into an optimization problem of shaping the poles of a closed-loop system with delays subject to zero-location constraints. The solution approach involves remodelling the closed-loop system as a system of delay-differential algebraic equations (DDAEs) which allows to systematically account for delays in the control law, thereby enabling a straightforward technique for computation of controller parameters. Finally, the proposed design method is validated by simulation on a lumped parameter model of a mass-spring-damper system.

In recent years, deep learning based methods have shown success in essential medical image analysis tasks such as segmentation. Post-processing and refining the results of segmentation is a common practice to decrease the misclassifications originating from the segmentation network. In addition to widely used methods like Conditional Random Fields (CRFs) which focus on the structure of the segmented volume/area, a graph-based recent approach makes use of certain and uncertain points in a graph and refines the segmentation according to a small graph convolutional network (GCN). However, there are two drawbacks of the approach: most of the edges in the graph are assigned randomly and the GCN is trained independently from the segmentation network. To address these issues, we define a new neighbor-selection mechanism according to feature distances and combine the two networks in the training procedure. According to the experimental results on pancreas segmentation from Computed Tomography (CT) images, we demonstrate improvement in the quantitative measures. Also, examining the dynamic neighbors created by our method, edges between semantically similar image parts are observed. The proposed method also shows qualitative enhancements in the segmentation maps, as demonstrated in the visual results. Copyright © 2021, The Authors. All rights reserved.

This research introduces the application of an innovative bio-inspired metaheuristic technique, termed the Crow Search Algorithm (CSA), to model a crucial industrial process - hot rolling manufacturing. Inspired by the foraging patterns of crows, the CSA algorithm has demonstrated its prowess in solving diverse optimization challenges. In the context of this study, the CSA algorithm is harnessed to fine-tune the parameters of a simulation model focused on predicting the force exerted during a hot rolling procedure. The proposed model takes into consideration a range of influential factors, including the initial temperature (Ti), width (W s ), carbon equivalent (C e ), gauge (h i ), draft (i), and roll diameter (R). The findings underscore the CSA's capability to deliver an exceptional modeling performance characterized by swift convergence and high solution quality. By getting along very well with the proposed model with the CSA algorithm, a robust and efficient avenue to optimize the hot rolling process emerges, with the potential for expansion into other manufacturing domains. The computational and simulation results demonstrated that the proposed approach-based CSA outperformed different meta-heuristic search algorithms, such as the Salp Swarm Algorithm (SSA), Dandelion Optimizer (DO), Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO), Gray Wolf Optimizer (GWO), and Moth-Flame Optimization (MFO), in all test cases. The CSA has achieved the highest coefficient of determination (R 2 ), equal to 0.97244, and the lowest mean squared error (MSE), equal to 1904.97, compared to its opponent algorithms.
