Regression testing is a critical stage that ensures the software changes are not affecting existing functionality. Ideally, conducting regression tests after each software change is essential. However, the exhaustive repetition of full tests for every alteration proves time-consuming, expensive, and demands significant resources. Test suite minimization serves as a solution by eliminating redundant test cases. This research presents an advanced approach to eliminate redundant test cases effectively. The proposed method focuses on identifying a concise yet effective set of test cases that align with requirements and efficiently uncover faults. This streamlined approach not only reduces testing expenses but also contributes to a more efficient testing process. The study demonstrates its effectiveness in minimizing the test suite by employing the Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm with varied inertia weight strategies. Results from simulations indicate the success of this approach in reducing the test suite size while maintaining or even improving code coverage. Comparative analysis against Genetic Algorithms (GA) and Artificial Bee Colony (ABC) methods underscores the superior performance of PSO, specifically with tailored inertia weight strategies. This research significantly contributes to optimizing software testing methodologies, ultimately enhancing fault detection efficiency in software development. © 2024 IEEE.

In the domain of first-person shooter (FPS) gaming, mouse sensitivity is crucial for performance. This paper presents an analysis showing the correlation between specific muscle activity and mouse movement. We analyzed mouse movements from twelve subjects with varying sensitivity levels. A new dataset electromyography analysis of human activity database 8 (EMAHA-DB8), is introduced which involved four mouse designs and two game modes: Medium (normal movement) and Hard (aggressive movement). Sensitivity settings were standardized using effective dots per inch (eDPI), calculated as Mouse DPI multiplied by in-game sensitivity. Hand muscle activity was measured using five Noraxon Ultium wireless surface electromyography (sEMG) sensors with Ag/AgCl electrodes. Various regression models, including Random Forest, Support Vector Regressor, K-Nearest Neighbors Regressor, MLP Regressor, and Gradient Boost Regressor, were used to predict eDPI from muscle movement patterns. Sequential feature selection identified the top ten features, highlighting the most significant muscles for predicting sensitivity. The results demonstrate that the Extensor Carpi Radialis (ECR) is the most active muscle, followed by the Extensor Digitorum (ED), while playing the chosen FPS game. These findings give insights for ergonomic and personalized equipment design to enhance gaming experience and performance. © 2024 IEEE.

New solar PV and wind generation farms are usually connected to the grid through existing transmission lines, while remote generating plants may be connected through newly constructed long transmission lines (TLs) with limited capacity. In both cases, the power transfer capability of the TLs can be increased by introducing series compensation. Introduction of the series capacitor (SC), however, complicates the protection of the TLs rendering the traditional distance protection ineffective. The literature reports on numerous schemes that are grounded in innovative principles for protection of TLs with series compensation. However, most of the techniques are designed for application with specific compensation points along the line - near end, mid-point or far end. The use of a sensitive voltage differential (SVD) algorithm for the effective protection of a transmission line regardless of the placement of a fixed series capacitor, is suggested in this paper. The algorithm generates a sensitivity-based fault detection index whose magnitude depends on changes in the magnitude and phase of the voltages at the SC and line terminals. The performance of the suggested scheme is evaluated through extensive DigSilent PowerFactory simulations, and the results show that the scheme is sensitive to faults over 100 % of the series-compensated TL and is effectively independent of fault resistance. © 2024 IEEE.

The emergence of large-scale computing paradigms required the evolution of software development methods, moreover, the need to effectively transform traditionally sequential applications into parallelizable and scalable architectures. This transformation is key in harnessing the computing power of modern multicore and distributed systems. Python, with its vast ecosystem and simplicity, is becoming a powerful language that facilitates this transition. This article discusses the methodologies and development of a Python preprocessor tool aimed at converting sequential applications into forms suitable for large-scale computing environments. Through detailed analysis and implementation, we demonstrate the use of Spark functions and third-party libraries to automate this transition, making large-scale computing more accessible to a wider range of applications and developers. The tool includes a set of rules that identify different patterns of code input (for example, list-sequential looping) and transform consistent code. This article introduces a Python preprocessor designed to automate the transformation of sequential Python applications into ones that harness the power of large-scale computing environments. © 2024 IEEE.

Scan chain architecture is widely employed in modern VLSI design for test applications. However, it often leads to high power consumption during testing. The architecture experiences elevated simultaneous switching activity due to non-functional input patterns applied during test time, resulting in significant peak power in the circuits. This increased power consumption can cause IR drop issues, negatively impacting the chip's yield. This paper proposes an innovative approach to reduce both peak power and routing length by effectively reordering the scan chains. Experimental results show that the proposed approach is effective for the ISCAS'89 and ITC'99 benchmark circuits and this method achieves lower peak power and routing length compared to the state of the art. © 2024 IEEE.

Future research using text mining promises to uncover more specific patterns, offering deeper insights into literary and cultural exchanges. In contemporary text analytics, examining the feelings in customer evaluations has taken centre stage. It is difficult to identify emotions in sentences written with irony. Social media portals and e-commerce portals are offering users to come up with comments and reviews with realistic funny emotions. As a way to identify the feelings expressed in sentences written in a mocking tone purpose, we have attempted to highlight the Adjectives function in this study by taking into account positive and negative adjectives as well as an interjection, both good and bad words. We propose the Adjective-based Sarcasm Detection Algorithm (ABSA) and the Interjection-based Sarcasm Detection Algorithm (IBSA) based on lexicon approach as machine learning approaches won't yield better results in detection of irony and have compared it with the existing approach with more sarcastic sentences. Our F score results for ABSA and IBSA are 0.86 and 0.91, respectively. This paper sheds light on investigating humour or irony in context of parts of speech (POS) words. ©2024 IEEE.

Self-management is an art of managing your thoughts, feelings and actions that helps you achieve goals in life. In today's expeditious world individual's often struggle to maintain equilibrium between their personal life and work. The proposed web application uses NLP to evaluate the user behavior and mood and prepare a customized routine that balances productivity and rest by dynamically scheduling user's tasks. Current NLP based systems for assessing behavior and mood lack the capacity for thorough and flexible scheduling. It also involves libraries like NLTK. TensorFlow is used which is a machine learning model used to personalize suggestions. The web application analyses journals entered by user using NLP and detect user's emotions. The application gives AI generated prompts for completing their journal. When user enters their daily tasks, this application analyses the previous works of user and plan a daily schedule for them. The application also motivates them to complete their tasks by AI-generated positive affirmations through email. It analyses user's answers of questionnaires designed for stress assessment. This model can take audio, video journaling. The web application integrates with calendar events by using google calendar API. It uses google analytics for mood tracking and analytics. The functionality of the application would be supported by strong frontend and backend architectures that make use of ReactJS for frontend and ***, MySQL, Firebase, for backend. The proposed app can improve sentiment analysis and it is a unique combination of different features and is expected to be 2% higher than any existing models. © 2024 IEEE.

Lithium-Ion battery prognostic and health prediction is an essential part of our modern world today. Reliable predictions of the current state and remaining useful life are critical to ensure safe operation of various industrial applications. There exists established and extensively researched battery state prediction models including the equivalent circuit and physics-based models. The emergence and advancements of machine learning algorithms, such as support vector machine (SVM), have led to a new era of data-driven models. In this research, we initially establish a baseline prediction using traditional machine learning algorithms and subsequently employ deep learning algorithms. Our analysis focuses on the battery's degradation pattern, specifically the predication of the State of Health (SOH) prediction and the Remaining Useful Life (RUL), aiming to predict the degradation from a specific threshold cycle to the EOL of the battery. In this study, our aim is to establish a comparable baseline for several machine learning-based prognostic predictions. To overcome this problem, we conduct several experiments on the same dataset using traditional algorithms and as well as neural network models. The classification accuracy aligns with several benchmarks established in the research literature. This research further underscores the viability of using Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) models for RUL prediction, thereby advancing the role of data-driven models in prognostic and health management for critical engineering applications. © 2024 IEEE.
